  4. 1. I've recreated the issue and I'm working on a solution. But I'm a bit hesitant since every small DCS 2.9 update seem to change (both fix and introduce new issues) with the cruise and antiship missile schemes. I will at least have to wait for the next DCS update before I do anything. 2. When the cruise and antiship missile configurations are stable I will look into the fine tuning, I'll put it on my todo list.

  5. Sure, I'll add it in the next release.

  6. Download links and traffic limits update I've been working the issue with traffic limits and I've come to a conclusion. Dropbox backed from their earlier statement of their Transfer service. So I will be cancelling my Dropbox service. Instead, after experimenting with many different solutions this is how I'm implementing it for the time being: On the frontpage of my website you will see three download links, they will take you to three different Google Drive accounts which have their own and separate traffic limit. This is the best price/performance I can get when it comes to file sharing services. The links will only be on the frontpage for ease of maintenance. And the links will take you to the shared folder where you can chose one or more packs to download. I've already updated my website.

  7. Hi, As posted previously, ED will argue that they can't take into account the myriads of existing non-ED Mods, not sure they could even list them all. That's correct. Also, they said that OB releases are what they are qualified, i.e. Beta, meaning that there might be unknown bugs, and known issues. And there are a number of them, obviously. However, in those circumstances, it would be fair from ED to provide the users with the ability to revert back to a previous version. And there is another final option for us, that I always use for myself, it's not to upgrade immediately to the latest versions. Considering the number of bug reports I read, I'm quite satisfied to run OB 2.8.8, without any particular problem. This means that I'm at least 4 months late compared to ED's roll-out program, but I can happily spend my time on more important aspects of DCS : improving existing Mods, without wasting hours trying to upgrade the Mods one by one to conform to the lastest version. And I confess that, considering the current situation, I'm not near to upgrade to 2.9. My two cents. Enjoy !

  8. Genau genommen ist das Ziel ja immer noch da. In Kleinanzeigensprache würde sich nur der Zustand von "leichte Gebrauchsspuren" auf "nur an Bastler abzugeben" ändern.

  9. Sorry, this is quite wrong. We would be happy to have them. If a user was to create an asset or assets and wants it added to DCS, they are welcome to submit it to us. The person who created it must own it 100% and be allowed to distribute it. Has nothing to do with us owning them, but rather being legally allowed to distribute them in DCS. Also, you are correct that community assets would need to be 100% correct or working to be submitted, we cannot take on a community asset and then assign manpower to fix or make them correct. I am not sure why this wouldn't make sense. The Team is already quite busy without adding more projects. Once again, it's not about us doing 100% of the work. Other 3rd Parties have added assets to DCS. We have also added assets ourselves (which means the 'never happened' comment is just wrong). All assets submitted to ED for addition need to be of the expected quality and legally be allowed to be used. It's great to download a 3D model off the internet and add it to DCS, but it's not that simple to make it officially part of DCS. @Gunfreak did you know that almost all the original 3rd Party teams were indeed modders to start with? Fun fact right?

  10. Te perception of speed is mainly a function peripheral sight. Or in other words - FOV. Closer to the ground and more distinct objects do help, but fundamentally it's field of view.

  12. @KeyserSoze62 I made the switch from OVGME to OMM the last time I had to reload My Operating System. Moving to the supported Manager was easy enought. Even upgrading to this latest 1.2.1 was painless.

  14. I use a lot of user mods too, but I don't get angry at ED for updating their Sim ... I just disable any affected user Mod and wait for the Mod developer to update it. No need to delete User Mods if you employ a Mod Manager. This is not the first time that a DCS update affects several user Mods at once, the update to v2.5.6 was similar, as the graphics engine stopped support for older 3d models. Most Mod makers updated their 3D models within a lapse of a few weeks ... only moders not in the scene anymore, like Ranger79 or Lilkiki, couldn't update their Mods and they had to be abandoned, sadly.

  15. On Caucasus these "marker beacons" as you call them are true NDBs, as this is the way the Soviets designed their instrument approaches, and if they weren't activated or deactivated with regard to wind direction, you would have two NDBs of the same freq on each end of the runways.

  16. Seems you have an old fashioned idea of VR in its current state. But to stay on topic: ED (and their third parties) are capable of recreating the most extended and comprehensive (publically available) aircraft simulation ever. I'm sure they know how to calculate and implement the correct distance over time values, and general dimensions of objects. So, all these threads about perception of speed (there are lots; just use the forum search) are related only to... well.. personal perception. The sim has it right, it's our hardware (proper fov, as mentioned before) that is preventing us from really experiencing the sense of speed. There's nothing "wrong" with DCS on this part. off topic: Personally, I don't understand why the VR market isn't focusing more on fov (apart from maybe Pimax). To me, that part of VR is by far screaming the most for improvement.

  18. TARPS is available as loadout on the rear right tunnel hardpoint, but I also had no luck with the boarding ladder. I placed static F-14A and B on the ramp but they only had the intake covers attached. Same with AI planes with option uncontrolled.

  19. Please don't confuse realistic with "military = use of weapons." Especially where there is a lot of fighting, realism is usually sought in vain. Even in Worlds Apart SPRING 2025, the shooting missions are mainly about not getting hit and still carrying out the actual transport mission. Only in 2 out of 11 missions is there an active attack to destroy. According to current planning, the Mi-8 campaign will also largely get by without the active use of weapons.

  22. Wow. Love how your accusations of speculative release dates are completely derived from your own equally speculative opinions. #irony! The F-4 will release when it's ready. You seem to forget that these digital products are the result of many hard hours of toil by real people; those people have lives, lives are complicated and timescales slip thanks to the unexpected. Dude, get a grip, enjoy the festive season for what it is and quit being such a moaning minnie.

  23. @Barbarossa I'm sorry that your experience was a bit disappointing. I agree that the FW-190 is the least capable warbird in DCS and very hard to fly well against the others we have. I cannot comment on whether the module is bugged or it was like his in real life to, it's not my responsibility or area of expertise. The campaign - for this reason - is centered around air to ground and bomber intercept, but of course, it's not meant to be easy - the life of a Luftwaffe pilot wasn't easy in 1944. I've played the campaign several times and if you check on youtube you'll find many playthrough videos proving that it's quite possible to complete and survive these missions if you fly in a very disciplined way. Don't expect to become an ace though, but that's true for all of my campaigns.

  24. Hi CH. LOVE THES MODS! (Did I overstate that?) I have a weird one for you. How do you set up a SAM site. Radar first? then ECS, EPP etc then finally the launchers? If so, which radar? I'm running them with Moose MANTIS and Chief. I have a sneaking feeling that they arent firing because there are friendly air assets in the area, but I'd like to eliminate any set up issues I might be having. I have the keyword CHM in the group name. Oh and a request.... R-330Zh Zhitel - Wikipedia

  28. Yeah, definitely bind it as you'll need it for take off. You're supposed to disable nosewheel steering by holding down the paddle switch once you hit 75 knots, because from that point on, you're correcting your heading with the rudders, not the nosewheel.

  29. Unless Microsoft throw out the old C Windows API - which I think is not planed - there is no reasons OvGME become "incompatible". OpenModMan the sam, they are based on the same good old tech, except that OpeModMan use some newer features from Windows Vista and Seven. However OvGME have some known limitations that Open Mod Manager don't have anymore, notably the network code of OvGME is very artisanal and have download bottleneck. OpenModMan is also more flexible. You can install and try OpenModMan along OvGME they are not conflicting unless you install mods on the same target from both app at the same time, in this case you may loose game original files.

  30. I did download and try out Bankler's trainer. It's amazing and I am still working my way thru the 30 pages of that thread. For now I am going to stick with my modified green gate mission as it is helping me to get a better "feel" for the pattern and trying to not fly so erratically with over corrections.

  32. No, not like this. Casual players are not interested to search the whole Forum to suddenly find a thread that is some kind of official by ED. The Thead is from 14.November? I just found out today and I am normally browsing in this forum from time to time. what I mean is the website Newsletter or the beta changelogs that everyone gets automatically in every discord server that has a DCS topic. people that gave up to fix the problem with unsafe methods lost interest in forum threads and wait for solution, mentioned in changelogs. with the last open beta patch, my friend just told me “hmm, no performance bug fix in that changelog? I not even try that new version then. I have other things to do.”

  33. two of my friends have similar problems but with worse computer hardware (but everything worked fine with 2.8.XX and we played alot). At the moment it is unplayable for them and they frustrated as they are stoped playing the game what was a big pushback for myself (because i do not like to fly without friends) I have a whole homade flightchair with VR and upgraded my GPU to 4090 just to get buttersmooth VR Gameplay just in DCS (all other games do not care if i have 4090 or way lower) and now i have to play alone and that makes everything lonely and frustrating. Therefor I am looking things up in the Forum since 2.9 release and all the suggestions require deep changes in Windows processes while playing without hope to help. We all are not interested in trying many workarounds that may, may-not work and it is annoying to install software that i do not know and that dos things that I cannot control in hope the Hardware wont brake. I always had the impression, that EDs developer work very hard on problems to fix them ASAP. Since this problem came from 2.9 update, in my opinion this has to be fixed by ED instead of 3rd party software or deleting Windows processes. A game just works when you can play it after installing without further changes in Windows. >1 sec shuttering with specs like i7-11700KF and RTX4060TI are not okay for a game that age. At the moment I am missing the part where ED tells people in the news that there are some unknown shuttering issues where the devs are working on. I think there are people out there wondering if they are the only ones experience this issue. @BIGNEWY maybe you could announce on your Website if the Devs are working on that or not.

  34. Hawkeye, yes it is F-8’s parked on deck. Along with the Seasprite they make the deck properly occupied. Don’t suppose you have a S-2 Tracker or an A-3 Whale at the back of the “ Bottom Drawer” do you? Toan, They are statics. The helo is parked at one of the take off spots I modified in the lua. I made one there, a second about 20 feet farther towards the bow, and a third on the port side deck edge. I am still trying different launch and take off spots for jets and have not tried any adjustments for helo landings. AI A-4’s not being consistent on landing is a challenge. seabat

  36. I've said it before. I've tested all of my asset packs simultaneous, with all my assets even in the same mission without any conflicts. But I also know that there are mods out there that use my code without making it unique. If you install one of those before my asset pack, it will look like it's my asset pack that is crashing DCS.

  40. @IceyJones you and me both. If something is not working in the campaign because I messed it up - I'll be the first to admit it and fix this. But if campaign stops working because of behind-the-scenes changes in how the Supercarrier taxi system works, that really makes me mad - because it usually means a few hours of trial & error testing for me with different aircraft configuration on deck until they finally stop crashing one into another. And it makes me want to uninstall whole DCS as well.. Please disregard these issues and continue to support us (the 3rd party devs). I don't think these issues will ever disappear because DCS is a constantly evolving projects, and that means bugs will be appearing quite often.

  41. CVN-76 and 77 are quite different from the previous vessels of the class and among other things use a 3-wire arrestor system - so apart from 3D modification work, a change to the code concerning this would also be required. ED said they want to include all five vessels of the Roosevelt subclass, which quite frankly should be more than enough variation for the Nimitz class of aircraft carriers - especially when you consider all the other things concerning the naval warfare aspect of the sim in dire need of attention. There are also many other ship types, which would add a lot more to the sim than yet more versions of the Nimitz class - e.g. for the US fleet I would much rather have more versions of the Arleigh Burke class(at least flight I) not to mention a supply ship like the Henry J Kaiser class.

  42. Dear all, we would like to take the opportunity and thank you for your kind and tremendous support! You are simply the best community there is and we could not feel more blessed with all the enthusiasm you showed us and the very kind patience you give us - we do not take it for granted, and we take the responsibility it puts on us very seriously. 2023 has been an overall great year, despite some shortcomings and delays, we had hoped to have the early F-14A out by now, for example, but our promises to you of course remain and we will not stop working hard and doing our best until we fulfilled all of them. With the F-4 on the horizon - and many great things cooking in the background - we hope that we can up our game even more during 2024 and to finally also make good on the still remaining items for all our modules. What remains to say is that we wish you all a Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2024. We wish you, your families and loved ones peace, health, prosperity and success in whatever you do, and thank you for being a part of this journey - a journey that we feel has many new and great stops ahead for all of us in the future. Thank you all from the entire Heatblur Team. Onwards and upwards! (screenshot: Yae Sakura, from last year's christmas screenshot competition.)
