Well, its complicated. There is a lifepoint threshold at which he will consider an aircraft to be done, report it as dead and ignore it in his logic. If you make it too low you will have enemies that are burning to the ground but still considered a threat. If you make it too high you will have Jester ignore someone on fire who is still flying around shooting missiles at you, being unable to attack them back since Jester ignores them. We have to work with what the DCS engine offers to us. Unfortunately, that isn't much when its about the combat status of another aircraft.4 points

Latency is one yes; and is a major issue within Virtual Reality as it can really make you feel sick within a few seconds if it's off Frame time precision is another. OpenXR has a way of rendering the frametimes so that frames are held back to enable a better, more consistent experience. Some titles work better than others. This is partially why Turbo Mode was introduced by Mbucchia—it ignores this and gives us BRRRT, which can have its own drawbacks too. Stereoscopic vision is another challenge. Synchronizing synthetic frames across both images is very difficult because each eye has its own scene. ASW is not strictly frame generation because it reuses the last known good frames and blends them smoothly with head-tracking data to maintain a consistent experience. The key difference is that ASW doesn’t use AI generation, whereas Nvidia Frame Generation does. It essentially creates an in-between frame but still assumes that both the base frame and the generated frame are valid and align perfectly. If in some parallel universe humans could hold their head perfectly still and had better sea-legs and didn't want a VR experience where they moved, it might have been possible to utilise. However, it simply isn't developed for VR; otherwise, Nvidia would have used it straight out of the gate4 points

Big progress: since I was able to reproduce the problem flawlessly using the Mi-24, I went to "Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input" and renamed all 4 Mi-24P related files. Then the problem was gone! That means the culprit is some custom control binding. I'll keep digging tomorrow!4 points

No, not a single red warning. I've just found out THE culprit: This "Config/Input/Mi-24P" folder was the source of my issue. I believe it was the initial Mi-24 input folder before it got replaced by the 3 others. The solution to my problem was to simply erase this" Mi-24P" folder. Now, I'll check all other modules.3 points

Чегой? Вартхундер за вычетом неплохого движка - унылое аркадное дерьмище. Поведение ракет примитивнейшее, они даже упреждение не учитывают, летят тупо в цель. Касаемо дамаг модели - да, из за наличия полноценных танков, модульность неплохая, однако воздействие на технику тех же авиабомб считается очень странно, типа учёта очень больших осколков, в то время, как та же 250кг бомба при прямом попадании просто ломает по швам любой танк безальтернативно. По нурсам вообще ересь - вместо них некие снайперски точные фаерболы с вольфрамовой картечью. И как вишенка на торте - игра заточена на рафинированную погань в виде прокачек, серебров с золотами и прочие доильни, а не геймплей.3 points

The Airspace available on this map its huge, i really glad of that, but, almost the 25% of the airspace its not operational usable, because, the only Easter disposition of the coalitions airbases will force fly only north west to reach the North and South Iraq and Kuwait. To allow the use of that airspace i will suggest add westerns Airbases or airfield even if that include a map expansion ( in some alternatives to west or only a little to south. Including the bases of Riyadh AB, Al Kharj Air base, King Faisal AB in Tabuk and Al-Jouf FOB (Task force normandy deploy FOB). If that its not possible pleas considerate to add the city of Medina and its Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport. , model the city of Riyadh and its air base and the Al Kharj Air base and Al-Jouf FOB. Detailed modeling of POI and AOI. Hi all, thought I'd get something going to see if we could get new visibility options to DCS World. The process of adding these settings are known by some users in the community but as of late I feel that these settings should be fully exposed and available for all users to enjoy in the base version DCS. Making the changes are pretty straightforward once you know where to look - firstly you make an edit to the optionsDb.lua file and create new entries that will be toggleable in the options screen Next you need to make some edits to the graphics.lua this time creating new entries for the new settings and their corresponding values under distancFactor Lastly an adjustment is made to the terrainoptions41.lua by increasing the size levels of the Instancer buffers, this is required to elimate any popping-in/out of scenery objects/forests etc (I just brute force the values by adding an extra 0 to each amount) Once the sim is fired up the new options are new available. Beware of making any edits to the terrainoptions41.lua, doing so with trigger Integrity Check fail on connecting to most online servers.2 points

Also, ich habe hier ein 6DOF mit Belt und Windsimulator, 250kg Payload, 750mm Aktuatorweg, 150°/s, 850mm/s. Frontal ein F-16 Cockpit aus dem 3D Drucker. Kosten so um die 13-15t€ und nicht schlüsselfertig. OVRMC läuft nur über FlyPTMover, kein Tracker, gar nichts. Läuft 1a. Wenn gewünscht, kann ich mal Foto / Video einstellen. Frei konfigurierbar, also alles mittels Aluextrusionen dranbauen, wie Lego. Wer sich's mal angucken möchte, kann gerne mal vorbeikommen. Anfangs wollte ich auch nur 3T€ in die Hand nehmen, aber jeder Freiheitsgrad mehr ist das Geld wirklich wert. Man muss halt wissen, wo man hin will - und wie man sich bei der Frau durchsetzen kann, gerade auch was... den Bodenverbrauch angeht, 3x3x2,40m³ sollten schon vorhanden sein - und darauf verteilt ca. 300-400kg (plus Beschleunigungen, besonders beim Einschlag!). Aber evtl. kann man sie mit 'ner Sim-Achterbahn auf dem Rig ködern... Zum Thema: Einzige "Schwierigkeit" besteht darin, das Rotationszentrum zu messen / berechnen. Da gibt man dann in der .ini ein (also x/y/z-Offset COR<->HMD) und anschließend Feintuning im HMD, also jede Achse auslenken und dann das COR entsprechend verschieben. Ist ein wenig Arbeit, aber logische Abfolgen. Ein ganz klein wenig geht's bei mir in der Nickachse hoch und runter bei extremer Beschleunigung (fliege Jets mit Beschleunigungs-, nicht Lageprofil), aber das kann man gut mit ein wenig Aufrichten / Zusammensacken des eigenen Körpers kompensieren. Ab und zu muss ich - gerade wenn man die VR Sicht neu zentriert - ein wenig das COR nachjustieren, weil es im Sim ausgewandert ist. Das (einblendbare) Vektorkreuz als Indikator des COR liegt bei mir bei der F-16 1cm rechts vom Ejectionhandle, und dorthin muss ich es dann verschieben. edit: nach Berechnen des COR und Messen des Offsets habe ich jetzt gar kein Auswandern mehr und bleibe hart im Zentrum sitzen!2 points

The External Tank Feed switch must be in OFF for the internal wing tanks to be used. They both share the same pipes and if the valve is in the wrong setting you are only allowing the non-existent ext tanks to feed, not the internal wing tanks. The aircraft has no awareness of ext tanks being loaded or not. So if you select ext tanks to feed, but have none, you are still blocking your internal wing tanks.2 points

PCIe 5.0 devices are back compatible with older PCIe slots (4.0 and 3.0) in motherboards. You're actually not losing much (if anything at all, my guess is nothing at all) by running any of those PCIe 5.0 GPUs on the motherboard for that 5800X3D (which is PCIe 4.0), so long as the PCIe in the motherboard is set at x16 in the BIOS, to get the full speed/bandwidth that the PCIe slot can give (I hope it makes sense?). If unsure that the PCIe slot for the graphics is at x16, then run GPU-Z and click the "?" symbol, and run the small test for a few seconds (you can stop it after a small while). It'll then show if it's @ x16, x8 or x4 (see image right below). As for recommendation, and based on personal experience, for VR I'd suggest Nvidia.... "it just works". LOL IMO, getting a used or refurbished RTX4070Ti Super 16GB (check Amazon and Newegg, usually there's a few at discount) would be a good purchase for that system. Those should have prices lowered right when the new 5070/5070Ti come out, and I suspect these won't be much faster (10% or 15% difference?) than 4070/4070Ti Super.2 points

There should still be an option to manually add/remove them. There are many instances where the deck crew stop responding for parking, and auto-park doesn't work, at which point the only option is for the player to park on their own and add chocks via the radio menu. For online squadrons, when the deck crew freezes up and won't unchock/guide anyone, the entire group of players has to restart the whole mission from scratch and hope it doesn't break again instead of simply removing chocks via the radio menu and bypassing the buggy deck crew.2 points

Всем давно ясно, что земля и рендер поверхности и точности у МСФС не идет ни в какое сравнение с землей в ДКС. Нафига в 100500 раз снова об этом говорить? В ДКС все карты статичны и строго ограничены, У МСФС - динамические мир и рендер поверхности. Что там сравнивать то? Это априори разные полюса.2 points

I know that the size of DCS is one of those things that some have issues with, but honestly - I'd far prefer to have the maps downloaded locally than go that 'stream off internet' based solution another company has opted towards, even if that means I need additional storage to support it. Another alternative option is to install a copy of DCS on a NAS, external HDD, etc - and keep that version of DCS updated, and use the dcs_local_source.txt file function on your installed version of DCS to point to the NAS for the updating. This allows people to uninstall some maps from their local SSD if they need more room, and when they want to swap to another map, simply uninstall another map, and choose to install the map they want to use. The dcs_local_source.txt file if setup in the DCS Install directory with the path to the 'cached' install of DCS will simply copy the files across off the NAS/External HDD instead of having to download them all over again. Obviously having a 4TB SSD is the ultimate solution, but for those who are more financially restricted at the moment and still want to buy and use numerous maps but don't have the room to have them all installed at the same time - it's a good alternative to having to wait a looong time on slow internet connections to re-download a previously downloaded map.2 points

I think ED reluctance to increase the view distance is the huge impact on performance and the number of complaints they will have to deal with by users who expect miracles even from the latest hardware. This is defiantly NOT for those who fly in VR! That said the view distance is defiantly very out dated and we need at least one extra option in the drop down menu at the very least. The best eye candy verses performance balance for me is at 2.5, which is almost double the the default Extreme view distance. What makes the most impact for me is the increased distance you can see the trees and makes me wish the trees had their own separate slider or drop down menu.I would love to be able to push the trees alone up to 5.0 as it would have less impact on performance than increasing the total view distance and still improve the look and realism of the terrain immensely. Increasing the distance that we can see grass and ground cutter is anther on the top of my wish list. This would be particularity helpful on the satellite imagery maps where the texture detail is particularly poor down low. View distance of 1.5 (Default Extreme), 2.5 and 5.0 shown on the Normandy map below. You can see how the trees fill in the gap nicely and complete the picture.2 points

IndiaFoxtEcho: DCS G-91 PROJECT UPDATE ++++++++++++++++++ In the past few weeks our DCS Team made significant progress with the G.91 configuration and weapon system, so here is a quick update on where we are with this: NOTE: AICRAFT TEXTURES AND 3D MODEL ARE JUST WIP PLACEHOLDERS - ALSO SCREENSHOTS INCLUDE GEOMETRY WITH MISSING TEXTURES - rest assured that everything will look much better in future In addition to the familiar MK81, MK82, and MK83 in their low-drag, snakeye, and AIR versions, LR-25 rocket pods with ARF-8/M3 rockets, LAU-3 rocket pods with FFAR rockets, and cluster bombs, we have decided to add air-to-air capabilities to our module by integrating the AIM-9B. Although the designers of the time had already equipped the aircraft with a dedicated system for this missile, flight tests (particularly those conducted by the Portuguese Air Force) never yielded positive results due to the seeker's inability to lock onto heat sources. Fortunately, DCS is not reality and allows us to achieve goals that the designers and specialists of the time could not. So, keep an eye on the sun and prepare for the best firing solution to maximize your chances of a successful hit! We have alos been working on the specific launcher for the HVAR rockets. The G-91 could carry from 3 to a maximum of 6 HVAR rockets per pylon. The screenshot shows the configuration with 3 HVAR rockets per pylon. Lastly, but no less important, we want to show you a very preliminary version of the AS-20 Nord missile and its dedicated launcher. Full integration with the aircraft, including the ability for the pilot to control it remotely, is planned for the next quarter. We are also working on other weapons for the G.91, such as the LAU-32BA and LAU-51BA rocket pods, as well as the capability to take off using JATO rockets. We are also evaluating the M116A2 Napalm, but at the moment we cannot confirm it will be included. As usual we'll keep you posted on our progress as soon as possible.2 points
