  1. It takes a lot of time to develop, support and maintain a dcs mod. Having neverending toxic discussions like it is done in this community does not motivate and is no fun at all. And the time I spent on this will not come back nor would be payed somehow (except few donations thx) So it makes the most sense to focus on more grateful topics in life.

  3. It's called "Digital Combat Simulator" but that doesn't mean you have to fly combat all the time. The quality of the planes and maps allows not only for great combat flights, but just flights period. It's a sandbox after all, it's what you make of it. And I make a lot of great non-combat flights. For my part, I'm here first and foremost for the flying. And DCS, certainly for me, has the best flightsim characteristics of them all. For sure I'm gonna blow **** up, but that's secondary to the quality of the flying. If it was just about the "pew pew" I'd be over with the Blore Blunder crowd flying from an exterior view. Barf! But that's not my thing. DCS gives me the tighest rightest flgithsim and the ability to blow **** up. My choice. And my choice regarding the C-130, is a great big "Yes please!"

  5. I'm just so happy, that we finally get to fly "big birds" in the DCS environment. No discussion, that logistic is a vital (actually the most vital) part of any military operation... but even without that, I'm thrilled that we get the Herc!
    5 points
  6. HUH, it's almost like logistics are a core facet of combat operations.. who'da thunk? I understand wanting the spooky, and as it is one of my favorite aircraft of all time, I'd love to see it too. But not seeing why this fits into the sim is a very silly take. The C-130 is known to be a workhorse flying into contested combat zones, delivering critical supplies, reinforcements, equipment you name it- all while getting riddled with bullets, losing an engine or two, and getting out of there under enemy fire. I personally can't wait to do critical logi missions at 250ft above deck, evading manpads and making everyone in the back sick- Oh and when dynamic campaign _eventually_ comes out, it will be a great asset for keeping frontlines supplied.

  9. A couple of fictional Eye Candy Liveries for the Static Grumman Tracker and Tracer by NYChancellor: THESE ARE STATIC ONLY AIRCRAFT - available on the download site. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/index.php?PAGEN_1=3 E1B https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338272/ S2 I say Fictional but they are quite close to reasonably accurate for a couple of them !!! The only Navy to fly the E1B Tracer was the USN, but I fancied a RAN one for myself so you can have a copy of that. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ke0iu7qnwjo5sxkh3t1wc/CrazyEddies-Grumman-Liveries.zip?rlkey=rkp8r8oy803954lyd2vcz5252&st=f5fk0t3o&dl=0

  10. It's a shame to waste your life on toxic, demanding people. This kind of behavior leaves many great projects in the hands of their creators. @tobiThank you for all the work you've done so far for us helicopter enthusiasts. I wish you joy and peace in your life.

Скорость сваливания не превышает 185 узлов в наихудших условиях (максимальный вес, крен 60, потеря тяги всех двигателей). Сопоставимо с A-10C. цифиры взяты от C-130T

Best advice i have recieved for a long time "People who use them mostly do it because they think it's a good mod/idea" My mod was to provide user created trains for the narrow gauge Marianas WW2 tracks. I thought that users would prefere usable trains as an alternative to looking at the baked in Oversized DCS Locomotives and wagons in the sidings. I will wait for a Train Deactivation update.

  16. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add reasonably realistic night sky and milky way. I am new to DCS and find it quite awesome and beautiful in VR. However, I was flying a night mission at 34,000 AGL in the incredible raven one fury campaign and the DCS night sky was completely immersion breaking! You got the clouds, the sea, and the moon, all perfect and intoxicating in VR, and then the night sky is totally lame. I guess if you are located in Moscow or another big city, with extreme light pollution, it is maybe possible that you have no idea what I am talking about, maybe you have never actually seen more than 50 faint stars above your head at once, but there are actually stars up there and they should look glorious from high altitude. look it up. I am aware people are complaining about this for a long time, and I find it quite puzzling you have not fixed it yet. PLEASE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IN 2025 THE AWESOME DCS WORLD HAS SUCH LAME INEXCUSABLE NIGHT SKY ?!?

  17. Was a preorder from October 2024, received my Super in July 2025. Got the included DMAS and Top Head strap included. Coming from an OG Crystal and RTX 4090. Was able to grab a MSI RTX 5090 Suprim Liquid at a “acceptable” price. Have had the Super about a month now and gotten it pretty dialed in. Many thanks again to TallyMouse https://youtu.be/Yt6MJMyte3Y?si=KRG3gW3H_uNdY1rn Sticking on Pimax play 1.40.4 and not upgrading as 1.41 breaks mbuccia's Quad-Views-Foveated-1.1.3. Should be fixed next update I think. Getting very steady 90FPS, except in Marianas WW2, but mostly play on the Multiplayer WW2 4YA Overlord server. The Good: No more god damned battery! One thing I hated about the OG Crystal was the battery. There was no wireless functionality when I bought it, so the battery did nothing other than add weight to the back. I’d get F1 neck with this headset and had to swap batteries if I did a long DCS session. Build and materials feel much better than the OG Crystal. HMD and straps feel more ‘solid’. Comfort. HMD is lighter and you feel it. From StudioForm Creative I ordered https://www.studioformcreative.com/product-page/pimax-crystal-crystal-light-new-v2-xl-large-face-pad-ultra-cush-17mm-pu-leath and it worked perfectly with my super. With the top strap installed was able to remove the front to back strap. I use a Steel Series headset with mic under the HMD (you’ll see why in The Ugly). Visuals. Took some tweaking based on Tally Mouse’s video but got it looking VERY sharp. Compared to the OG, it’s like being near sighted and getting a good pair of glasses. Distant items look WAY better now and small text is very easy to read. In the OG it looked good but would be blurry and limited by the number of pixels for small or distant objects. FOV. Able to get 120 horizontal and 98 vertical with my super. In the OG Crystal was getting 105 horizontal and 95 vertical. There’s a FOV Large(lab) mode, which I tried. Was able to test it up to 130 horizontal and 98 vertical, but in DCS was getting slight motion sickness and it felt ‘not right’ Did try it with the horizontal IPD -1.5 or -1.0, which helps but still got the uncomfortable feeling after a bit. Try it yourself, but I am more than happy with 120 horizontal. Brightness and Colors. One immediate difference was the colors and brightness. They are far less washed out than in the OG Crystal. In fact, some have issues with over saturation, which is why the Tally Mouse’s video recommends 99 on Brightness. For dark games like Skyrim VR there’s a big difference with the improved local dimming. Don’t see as many ‘halos’ as I did with the OG Crystal. Night flying in DCS is also much more immersive. Eye Tracking. Just as good or maybe a bit better than the OG Crystal. Was a requirement for me to upgrade. You definitely need Dynamic Quad Views for DCS. Performance. Able to keep my 90FPS with my Super on a RTX 5090 and Tally Mouse’s settings. Pass Through. Although not 100% reliable yet, the double tap passthrough view is nice. Optical Engine Options. Don’t have any of the other optical engine cartridges, but having the ability to swap out for microOLED or a Wide FOV cartridge is very nice. I plan on getting the microOLED when that’s available, even if it’s got lower FOV. The Bad: Price. Yes I know it’s top tier HMD, but it’s expensive. Worth coming from an OG Crystal? For me getting rid of the battery was worth it, but the mura has me wondering if I should have suffered a bit longer. Mura. My OG Crystal had no mura. One of the first things I noticed in my Super was the mura. It wasn’t terrible, but when you come from something that didn’t have it, you’ll see it. After tweaking and using the headset a while, I’ve gotten used to it. It doesn’t bother me as much as at first, but it’s still there. I do wonder if I’d waited and just kept using my OG for another year, then got the Super, would I have gotten a headset with mura? I bet the manufacturing and mura in future headsets improve over time, so unless you’re in a rush, it might be worth considering a wait. Pimax Play no Shutdown HMD. Generally, don’t like leaving the headset powered on. With the Super, there’s no option in Pimax Play to shut it down. It just goes to sleep when Pimax Play is closed but is still powered. So, I put the power plug on a strip that has a switch. Hopefully the shutdown in Pimax Play comes back. 120 Refresh Rate gone. OG Crystal had it, but not the Super. This isn’t a big deal for me as I’d stuck with the 90 refresh rate, but if you care about the 120, Super’s only got 90 and 72. The Ugly: Microphone. It’s bad. Really bad. I would not recommend using it with SRS. People couldn’t understand me. I don’t think it’ll improve with software. DMAS. Sound is better than the SMAS. That said, the volume to 100 and it still sounded pretty weak. Read somewhere they might improve it with software, but not holding my breath. My left speaker was very loose no matter what I tried (wasn’t the only person with this issue in the Pimax Super discord). Right was nice and tight. I went back to my Steel Series headset under the HMD for sound and mic. Top Strap Screws. You like making miniatures and using tweezers to hold things? Well, you’ll love the Top Strap install. You’ll deal with the smallest screws you’ve ever seen. If you have large hands like me or have older hands with bad eyesight. Good luck. I was able to get it installed but it was a constant battle. Tracking Issues. This will probably get fixed overtime, or with them releasing a Lighthouse faceplate (hint hint). Had occasional tracking lag, which is nauseating. Doesn’t last long except for the time windows was downloading an update while I was in DCS. Really created a lot of tracking lag during that. Settings: Mostly the same as the Tally Mouse video. DCS Settings: Differenced from Tally Mouse Upscaling: Using Balanced instead of Quality. Adds a few more FPS, and honestly cannot spot the difference from Quality. SSAO: Make sure this is Off. If you have Quad Views on, you'll see the box floating around your view when this is enabled. SSLR: On. Adds light reflections to water and objects. Much more immersive. Lens Effects: Dirt+Flare. Why? Looking at the sun and sunlight looks SO much better with this on. However, when looking around the sun you'll see the QV box a little. But it'll look so much better than with this off. No noticeable FPS hits. Gamma: Bring this down to 1.6 or 1.8. It really makes the light and dark contrast WAY better. VR setting Mirror Eye Source: So I have astigmatism in my left eye, so picking the right eye for this. If you have astigmatism, set this to the 'good eye'. QuadViews Companion Focus Size between 20%-25% Foveate Resolution no greater than 150%. For extra FPS lower to 125% Pimax Play Settings (version 1.41.2): Using 100% brightness. My headset didn't have color issues like some. With the new Pimax play version 1.41.2 added a Sharpness Option under Games. Use IT!! Keep the QuadViews Companion and DCS In game options Sharpness OFF.

  19. In my opinion the most important change to night lighting concern twilight hours. Right now DCS has a distinct point at which it 'officially becomes night' and the cockpit lighting goes from one set of affairs to the other in the blink of an eye.

  21. While you can certainly place the folder within /Saved Games/ as suggested on the Campaign Manual, I opted to place it within the DCS program folder, like this: As the Corsair does not yet have a built-in campaign, I had to manually create the "Campaigns" folder and place the "Corsair School" folder there. Note that the name of the Campaign's Folder is not critical, so I renamed it to credit its author. If you ever do a DCS Full repair, this folder I placed within DCS will be deleted ... so, make sure to have a backup copy somewhere else, or employ a Mod Manager. Cheers!

  22. Personally, I enjoy flying the Hook a lot, I just wish development progress was faster. The tandem of Hook + Herc, there's so much potential for synergies in the right missions. Say Hercs supply a larger FOB, Hooks then supply FARPs, and then the "I wanna blow stuff up" crowd actually gets to do that. No supplies, no warheads. Makes people think twice how unimportant those Ash and Trash missions are going to be. And yeah, this kind of scenario certainly isn't for everyone. Well designed SP and MP missions will be a total blast though!

  23. First ever DCS module with 4 engines.. im all here for it. Also first ever turboprop fixed wing. As all the other prop aircraft are piston inlines and radials.. Very neat on many levels. I truly believe I will enjoy this much more than the hook for doing Logistics. Especially with the LAIRCM system protecting the super herc, Im so hyped!

  25. Have you tried putting in setting for the AI aircraft of "afterburners" - disable? If not, give it a go. Apparently, the AI Warbird pilots can and will happily use WEP, and don't have the same time limits that we as pilots do. The "afterburners" setting, when disabled with a warbird, now prevents AI using WEP all the time.

  31. Absolutely. 3 main suggestions below. In the video, I time stamped (1st, 2nd, 3rd suggestion). I inserted real world footage of the below suggestions if you need examples (not my personal videos). Have you looked into maritime insertions with RHIBs (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats) or Zodiacs. Would you be interested in it? Would you be willing to look into rolling insertions and extractions in the Desert with wheeled units such as Hummers, ATV's Ect? This was used in Afghanistan and Iraq with Special Operations and would be a first in DCS and 100% applicable to the maps we have. The C-130 will play a pivotable role in DCS Afghanistan and Iraq. You are the first to create the first person walk around experience in DCS. The C-130 was essential in all SOCOM insertions (HALO/HAHO) into Afghanistan and Iraq. Would you be willing to be the first dev to invest time in making a small JTAC/CCT team, AI or Playable for utilization in DCS. These units could be deployed to lase for other aircraft and then extracted by players using a number of helo modules. If first person has been implemented successfully with the C-130 (looked awesome in the trailer), I feel this presents another opportunity to capitalize on an untapped area in DCS. A small JTAC or CCT team would be a solid first intro for expanding ground operation but not going full shooter. It would allow coordination with other aircraft and be a solid addition to C-130 creating the most realistic simulation of Halo or HAHO jumps. I can only imagine the Hype of us VR players walking to the ramp with each other at 22K and having a player load master give the signal to jump. The C-130 has a real opportunity to make that special in my opinion based on what I have seen thus far. There are plenty of Vets out there that would probably be more than willing to help you get it right.

  34. I wish I could assist but I have been playing ITJ on the server with the latest version we released and have not encountered any issues. Flew last night, but did not record. One thing I have changed though is I turn off my antivirus/spyware now when I fly DCS. I noticed it was causing the performance issues. I only turn it off when flying on DCS though. I would recommend opening in the mission editor and taking out the IDX to start with. Then maybe disable spyware/antivirus if it persists. I hate to say it, but this is the problem we run into playing a mod heavy mission. Especially with every new update. I know the last update that reverted back to the previous version fixed a lot of issues with mods and missions. You may give it another shot and see if anything has changed. I wish ED @Wags @NineLine would consider making @Eight Ball Eight Balls VAP pack an official addition to DCS. It is stellar from the AI perspective and has really provided some much needed assets to DCS.

    3 points

  37. To further expand on this. The superiority of the Hellcat and Corsair is largely myth. Victors get to write the history…all that. In reality the actual kill ratios / loss records between both the Corsair and Hellcat vs the Zero earlier in the war during 1943 where experienced Japanese pilots were still present in numbers ( vs later in the war when they were not) indicates parity between the two types and the Zero. Japanese pilots didn’t get leave, R&R, nor rotated home at the end of a tour. They flew until odds caught up with them or they were so battle-fatigued that they had to be shipped home. Late war results where essentially only barely-qualified pilots were flying on the Japanese side essentially indicate nothing more than pilot disparity. Not to mention cartoonish over-claiming of kills. These results might indicate a certain amount of real world Hellcat pilots getting pulled into fight that they should have passed on, just as we know happens online. Turning vs diving away for example. Given faithful representation of both aircraft in DCS - one should do very well in the Zeke.

  39. This is like the dynamic campaign. Anyone who wants it to come out tomorrow, no matter how much they've been showing it to you for 3-4 years in the official videos, will end up frustrated by something whose true functionality we honestly don't know at this point. And I'm very serious. Those who continue to think this is going to be like some sort of tactical ground warfare simulator where infantry realistically enters and exits vehicles and helicopters will be very disappointed. So, let's take this as an ancillary issue, not as a primary imperative of realism for the modules. We've already seen things before: things won't turn out the way many of us would like, so let's lower the bar, because I'm very afraid the "new" infantry will do the same thing as in the past and nothing more.

  41. Just subliminally getting the idea of a C2 module into their heads, the boat really could benefit from a good COD module. Jokes aside, you are right about that, and considering the context of disobeying orders and almost doing a water landing, I don't think stinger wants them in a C2. LOL.

  43. None of the above. I do have what appears to be one dead pixel (it's that or a tiny grain of dust) and the screen-door effect against bright backgrounds that's like a very pale grey filter over the entire image. I'm wondering recently if that's what everyone calls muira/mura? I'm also assuming the very slight squiffiness I experience when I move my eyes off-center is the binocular overlap not being as good as the OG's. PeeDee, do you have astigmatism in that right eye? I have it in my left and have been thinking about playing with the offset stuff. How does it work?

  44. I can't say with certainty for the others you mentioned, but for the 190A8, P47 and Mosquito, elevator trim most certainly alters the center position of the FFB Spring effect. Take a look at the active spring effect on the configurator debug tab and you will see. Now, on the 190A8 specifically, it is not done very well. The elevator trim is quite sensitive in the aircraft itself, but the spring center point doesn't move very much at all. The result is that you still need to significantly manually alter the joystick position to counteract how fast the trim is moving, much like you would need to with a sprung joystick. If it were done "properly", you would simply hold the position of the stick and trim to relieve pressure. But there's not very much about the native DCS FFB implementation that is done 'properly'.

  45. If you are using DLSS then add the below line to your C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\autoexec.cfg file to set the DLSS preset, this is still C by default. You will need to create this file if it does not already exist. This uses the latest presets which will reduce some blurriness/ghosting. The second line is optional but means that DLSS will not be applied to your MFDs or HUD to reduce the ghosting that DLSS can introduce on those. DLSS_Preset = 'K' HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true

  47. Maybe using the word "feel" wasn't the best word choice. What I meant to say is that the tail wheel does not free-wheel caster, which then requires that the airplane be operated in a manner that is not at all what you would experience in planes that have fully castering tailwheels. Of course, there is no way to model actual feel, but I think it's important that the airplane steers in a way conceptually consistent with what is physically expected on taildraggers with free-wheeling castering tailwheels. The corsair module has been in development for over a decade...the amount of details in the visual modeling is jaw-dropping, and it's obvious much love was put into this so far. I'm not expecting "zero bugs" at release. I'm sure the developer wants to address the issues/bugs that will come up, as nobody that has crafted something like this module would be content to leave it in EA. I just don't think people should be content with accepting this bug just because they can manage to turn it by blasting a few hundred horsepower through the prop, or because simming ground handing is hard. Just the opposite, I hope this bug is prioritized because it's directly affects the operation of the plane on a basic level.
