A slider or drop down box for cockpit mirror resolution would be amazing. Thanks. P.S. Is there anyway to do it now?

Basically nothing to say to this except that it is dark and slightly looking different. Extract the zip so it is a normal folder go to 'Users\Lite\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\Cockpit_F-16C' drag the folder in there Launch DCS and go to the Options -> Special -> The Jet you want to have it on -> Cockpit -> Select the folder I did the same thing for the Hornet if you are interested. If you want to have the Mod : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3344580/ or https://discord.gg/mmfgxehn9W in #Livery-Artwork

Hello everyone, A little while ago when the apache got announced i got the idea of making a cockpit for it. I started designing some panels to see how well i would do. I only started using fusion a month prior. My goal is to get a fully functioning pilot station with all switches and buttons that are in the real thing. Everything will be 3d printed and modeled by myself. I do fly in VR so there will be no screens in my cockpit for now . I am posting this here because i thought some of you may like the idea and would be interested in how things would look. So i will be posting picture here of my progress. I have been working on it for a little while now. but the Cyclic grip and collective grip are giving me a headache. not to mention the Tedac grips. If there are more experienced people here who do 3d modeling and have some tips for me PLEASE do share them below! Any tips in general are also very welcome! Thank you,

Posting on behalf of reddit user https://www.reddit.com/user/NotKalashnikov/ since he needs to wait 24 hours to post it as a new DCS forum user. Original post here: Feature concept: transparent pilot model around cursor. I don't use pilot body because it prevents me from seeing switches I want to press. It could be also applied to stick and throttle if it's in the way of buttons.

Video 12/09/2024 = Talking a little about the project. Hello community, I present to you the first test of the UH-1H Huey cockpit. In this particular case, it is for you to observe and help me correct proportions and general shapes. Much of the work is based on photographs, and while I try to be as precise as possible, perhaps someone with real experience with the aircraft might notice things that need correction. Don't expect anything usable, just a white structure of the larger components of the cockpit. In the file, you will find a .jpg image with the steps to follow for installation (it may break the integrity check, meaning multiplayer mode might not work). Please remember to back up your files, and I am not responsible if you need to clean up the installation after use. You can leave comments here on the forum (but please quote me so that I get notifications). Thank you very much for your time. Best regards! ###################################################################################################### Hello community! Today, I want to introduce you to a project I started a few days ago. I'd love to hear your opinions and perspectives on it. About the Project: The main idea of the project is to update our beloved but somewhat outdated UH-1H Huey. As a 3D artist, my primary focus will be on updating the module's graphical aspects with new 3D models and textures (we’ll discuss the scope of these changes and their implications later). However, I don't rule out the possibility that, with the community's help, the changes could be more comprehensive. Considering that the Huey's flight model is excellent, and its systems are quite complete, any improvements beyond aesthetics would likely involve adding new weapons or features. Images (WIP): Progress So Far: Currently, I have partially modeled the Huey's cockpit. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but so far, I think it's looking pretty good. I've attached images of the work in progress. I managed to run some tests in the simulator with the new cockpit added to the old model, and it looks quite promising. I still need to figure out how to make the file changes through the "saved games" folder to avoid breaking the Integrity Check (IC), which I currently have no idea how to do. If anyone is willing to help in this area, your contribution would be more than welcome. -- We need to replace the file located at: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Cockpit\Shape" named "Cockpit_UH-1H.edm" with a new file of the same name placed in the "saved games" folder. Project Scope: Regarding the project's scope, I envision several possible options. Over the past few days, I've conducted a series of surveys to gauge the community's reaction to the project. For now, the goal is the following: A completely free mod for the community that updates the cockpit with new 3D models, textures, and animations. There would be no new functionalities. We would need to find a way to include it as a mod that doesn’t break the Integrity Check. If that’s not possible, based on the survey responses, there would be little community interest in the mod (and therefore, not much reason to continue its development). For those who have installed the mod, the helicopter will function as usual, but with a significantly enhanced level of detail in the cockpit. For the moment, both the exterior model and the interior cargo area of the helicopter would remain as they are currently. Improves on those parts would cost lots of time for a free proyect. The Reason for the Project: Essentially, I usually do things out of pure enjoyment or whim. The Huey is one of my favorite modules; it’s easy to use, fun to fly, not too complex, yet you can spend quite a bit of time mastering it. Despite this, its graphics, especially the interior, are quite outdated. Therefore, a few months ago, I started thinking about updating its textures to the PBR format. This led to multiple challenges due to the way its UVs were created, preventing the proper use of an AO pass. So, I decided to start modeling the interior in 3D from scratch. Estimated Timeframe: There’s no ETA; this is a project I’ll be working on in my spare time. Other Possible Versions: For now, I would focus on the version we currently have. I’d love to be able to choose whether to add or remove the radar altimeter and the flare dispenser at will, to make it closer to versions used in earlier periods of the Huey’s history. I’d also love to add the option for side-mounted M60s without the external hardpoints, as used by Hueys in Vietnam. If I were to develop other versions, I would be interested in a "C" version with various weapon systems used during Vietnam. I’m not a big fan of glass cockpits, so I’m not interested in modeling more modern versions of the Huey. However, these ideas are more like "dreams" rather than concrete goals, and they would largely depend on community support (since beyond 3D art, aspects that require programming are not my strong suit). Conclusion: For now, this is all. I hope the project interests you, and that together we can build this improvement. I look forward to your feedback! Best regards!

Floodlight It appears to me that the cockpit floodlight is broken. I'm not sure, but it looks like the cockpit would only show specular reflections, but would miss diffuse reflection. Maybe it's something else, but i can say for sure that it doesn't look natural and doesn't really light up the cockpit in a meaningful way. The actual floodlights/lamps objects (in the back of the cockpit) don't visibly light up, if you turn on the floodlight. Instrument/Console backlight The instrument backlight is very bright even on lowest setting. This is subjective, as i don't know how it's supposed to be, but i do find it so bright that it makes it difficult to read certain instrument at night. I would assume that there is a bit more range on the possible brightness settings in reality.

There are some problems with the LUU-2. Brightness and colour temperature The ingame flare is too bright. It's difficult to objectively say without an ingame light metre, but the real thing should illuminate a 500 metre circle at 5 lux. The ingame flare is orders of magnitudes brighter for sure. This would not be a huge issue, but since the flare does not create terrain shadows and is not affected by clouds (both very reasonable performance trade-offs), it can appear even brighter. With more realistic brightness values, the performance trade-offs wouldn't be that noticeable. Colour temperature is wrong. Ingame it burns with a slight green tint, while it should burn with near white with perhaps slightly warm tint. It's a magnesium/sodium-nitrate mix, that should definitely not produce a flame with green tint. Missing cockpit illumination The flare correctly illuminates the exterior of aircraft flying near it, which looks very cool. However the cockpit of aircraft is not affected, which spoils the otherwise cool effect. Since cockpits can be illuminated by external dynamic lights, i assume this is just a config error, that can be easily corrected (Tested with F-5 remaster module). Having cockpits illuminated by flares will probably make the extreme brightness of the flares even more noticeable (especially for people who don't run secondary shadows), so fixing the exaggerated brightness is paramount...

I present a mod to improve the rain inside the cockpit, surely I will be able to improve it, as a clarification there are 2 files requesting the VR or Monitor system, since both (I do not know if it is a problem or if it really works like that) renders differently . In VR the dynamic drops are not present hopefully ED take note and improve this problem. Don't get me to manage to make it look its best. Recently, ED announced that they are using a revolutionary new technology called Photogrammetry for their upcoming MiG-29 full fidelity module. Given that the remastered F-5E cockpit is the same mesh as the old one and does not fit into the external model, I would like to request that ED re-build the F-5E cockpit to modern standards, scaled true to life compared to the real thing. Here are a few reasons why: ED's other cockpits are amazing. You could 1:1 replace an instrument in the F-18 or F-16 cockpits with a 3D scanned real life equivalent, and it would fit. They're amazing. The same cannot be said for the F-5 - all of the panels are incorrectly shaped in length and width and height at random intervals which are not consistent with the real pit. For example, the width of the main front panel is wrong compared to a real F-5E (I have the measurements for this panel and many others). This does not meet ED's own standards. The Cockpit is where DCS players spend 99% of their time when flying. While the external model is nice and helps you sell more modules, the cockpit is where players actually sit once they have given you the money. By scanning a real cockpit, you can finally be morally correct when you deny peoples requests for features we can finally agree on a single F-5E version. As it stands, our DCS franken-jet does not represent a single F-5E that ever existed, with that radio and lack of INS, it's not a Swiss F-5E, and with that RWR it is not a USAF F-5E-3. So you can finally pick one and be right. Mixed reality: with the increasing popularity of the Quest 3 with color passthrough, mixed reality builders are having a field day with DCS. This helps DCS gain popularity online as people see what is probably the coolest flight combat sim experience ever! This is great with the F-16 and F-18 etc - but the F-5E cockpit does not line up with the real life jet, so this leads to a problem: Do you build a cockpit based on the real dimensions, or based on the DCS cockpit? Why do you have to choose, shouldn't they be the same? Look at projects like Authentekit, or the WinWing F-18 MFD's, there is an appetite for accurate 1:1 cockpits. This is impossible with the F-5E because the cockpit is not 1:1 to real life.

Hi all, Since I am a huge fan of the JAS-39 and JF-17 I've created a re-skin of the default JF-17 cockpit to look like the JAS-39. Grey consoles, metal bolts, a new ejection seat, new MFD colors to match those of the Gripen. I've also included new fonts and Hud graphics to push the transformation. These modifications need to be installed in the base install and in the saved game folder. Installation procedure : Download the zip file form the DCS User files Extract the ZIP to your desktop Put the Liveries folder (in the Saved Game folder) in your saved game folder (this location may vary depending on your install, but this is where you put your mods) **Optional** Beware that you will lose the original files so if you want to revert back Make copies Use the fix function Use software like OVGME Put the Mods folder (in the DCS folder) in your based folder (this location may vary, but this is where DCS is installed) overwrite the files Activate the JAS39 cockpit (customized cockpit option) in the special option menu in the main DCS screen. Enjoy

In the (beloved) Smoerebröd-UFO the HUD-Glass can be raised via a lever. This is both possible via cockpit-interaction or keybind. As for the cockpit-interaction (ingame, in-cockpit) of the module, the mousemap for the cursor seems to be placed wrongly. Instead of being placed at/on/over the LEVER, the mousemap is situated at/on/over the HINGE. This results in a rather finnicky mousemapping interaction from the standard cam-position and/or creates the necessity to lean sideways to be able to raise the HUD-glass. While easily manageable with a mouse this can be extra tricky if fe a mouse-thumbstick on a HOTAS is used. The green marker shows the current mousmap area (oversized) while the red marker shows the actual LEVER where the mousemap should be placed. No trackfile needed, reproduction possible 100% in all instances and situational combinations.

I found an "Ultrak KEGS5000" serial keyboard and I'd like to use the same in DCS world. I've been able to convert the keyboard to USB and now it has been recognized by windows 10. Now I'm trying to use the keyboard in DCS World. I wrongly was expencting to bind the keys using DCS world, but I understood that I need DCS BIOS. So, I installed DCS BIOS e connected to the right COM port. Now, how to bind those keys? Do I need to buy an Arduino controller or I could write my lua file in order to use this keyboard? Any suggestion will be very appreciated. Thank you d36a15c9-ca76-4d05-a8b0-36858569361f.jfif

Hi developers, Is it possible to have a basic chatter in the cockpit for the player without having to add a chatter file and activation zone all the time ? Think it will save us a lot of extra unnecessary extra work to have the 'real feel' upgrade. Thanks RWC

Kneeboards on pilot model is important for successful and immersive missions. Stopping you from leaving gameplay looking for radio frequencies or waypoints. I would like to see an improved resolution mostly from a VR standpoint, and maybe more available file types. I would also like to see the kneeboard to include mouse clickable controls and option to include a kneeboard on both pilot legs for those large missions. thanks

Bell UH-1M (Huey Hog) Helicopter gunship ..... flyable, clcikable, standalone, startup procedure, EFM, fully armed..... etc etc.... Vietcong added to the infantry list in Mission Editor.... for the Vietnam War. CREDITS : see credit text in folder (Cockpit by Yakarov) This is a Hi-res cockpit of the Bell UH-1M, with a simpler startup. It is not my intention to replace the UH-1H module by Belsimtek or replicate it in anyway; however there was a perceived desire in the modding community for a fully fledged Vietnam War era helicopter gunship; and so I did the UH1C, then realised that infact the UH1M was a better configuration and carried more weapons......so..... here we have the Bell UH-1M. Startup : look in folder for "UH-1M startup procedure.txt"....... there is a switch to turn on/off hints.... If you want a HiRes cockpit with all the bells and whistles working, please consider buying the UH-1H Huey by Belsimtek, that is an excellent module and gives you the full immersion experience. This project (UH-1M) was drawn together and completed by Freddy. DOWNLOAD THE UH-1M HERE NEW LINK...... 3 March 2022 Fixed landing on moving ships ...... credit and thanks to NoCallsign for testing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dglZauqLl1oXjf6FmsvJSua5qW-jpjdk/view?usp=sharing installation : : C:\Users\XXXXXX\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft\Bell UH-1M

hello, good afternoon or evening, this time I will be brief and short in this forum, currently there is a bug in which the directions of the parts of the textures of the cabin of the mig-29 are badly placed, which are the kind of hud gyroscopes, a small notepad on the right side and on the radio frequency change knob of the mig-29 (all versions of this), then I will leave the captures that I take in model-viewer, but they happen both in e model-viewer and inside the simulator

Hi friends! I want to know if is there any place to share projects to build in home? I am starting this topic with the intention to share my projet in the future and colaborate with community's projects. I am doing this display with arduino leonardo and a 9,7 hdmi display. The bezel will be backlighted too, so it start from a white material, receive paint and translucent label. I am also working in a force feedback control with 775 dc motors, arduino and optical encoder. you can see a planetary to colect three motors torque in the image above The flight control project will contemplate, ailerons and elevators controls, also rudder.

What do you think about having restrictions in-game to your view, while in VR in the cockpit? Have you had experience with such limitations on your view before in other sit-down games? Do you believe that such limits will increase the immersion? Words and comments appreciated as well. Feedback doesn't have to just be from the poll alone. Preferably, it'd be both.
