I used the Civilian Asset Pack the DCS:Combined Farms and UH-1H attachemts mod for the video. As you can see they are **outstanding**. They have been made by @Eight Ball one of the finest a most coolest DCS modders around . He is doing an incredible job for expanding the civil side of DCS. I was planning releasing two version of the game: one with mods and another without them. But not right now. Thanks for those bugs! I'm working on the game right now. I will release a new version next week. It will solve most of those bugs, and as a new addition it will add: ■ Injured people will have a life bar indicator in the SAR missions, and they could die if you do not take them to the hospital in time. ■ And a new mission called: THE SWAMP5 points

This should definitely be an initial feature. You shouldn't need to setup all the pages in 5 different master modes every single time you start your aircraft.5 points

I just think there's too much shadowing on canopy glass. Possibly because it's not transparent enough as @speed-of-heat said. DCS A10C II DCS Hornet Real Hornet. You can see where I circled the shadow doesn't carry into the glass. Below is full video. No where during the video, I see shadow on the canopy glass. Reflections, but not shadow.4 points

@The_Fragger @Zeus67 @Prowler111 @myHelljumper Brief historical summary July 2015: Polychop-Simulations officially obtains the Third Party license for the development of SA-342M Gazelle and BO-105 PAH1A1. April 2017: Polychop Simulations and The_Fragger announce that their development path separates: MilTech-5 is born and will independently develop the BO-105 PAH1A1. January 2020: MilTech-5 and RAZBAM announce an agreement to advance the development of the BO-105 PAH1A1. January 2023: In response to a comment on the official MilTech-5 FB page, The_Fragger replies "We are waiting for the coder -> last contact was June. He applied for a new job...since then -> no response". Is the agreement with RAZBAM still in place (a recent podcast with RAZBAM mentioned three helicopters in development but it's not clear if the BO-105 is included)? Is the recruitment of the new developer in June 2022 part of the collaboration with RAZBAM? Many screenshots are posted that highlight the development and updating of the graphic assets (and this is good) but considering that we have entered the eighth year of development since the original announcement, it is possible to officially know the current and concrete state of development of the module BO-105 PAH1A1 at present? Will there be an official report dedicated to the BO-105 PAH1A1 in the upcoming Eagle Dynamics NL dedicated to Third Parties? Thanks in advance for any response you may have! Bye Phant3 points

What I had was a mod conflict, I haven't figured out which one but when I remove all mods except this Asset pack, the animated crew moves, else it's rigid and lifeless. I'll figure out which mod causes the conflict, but for now here is a salute to @Massun92for this phenomenal work InShot_20230116_222243158.mp43 points

Thanks for the bug! I found that sometimes, depending on the number of missions that you completed, when you land in the hospital it doesn't start another one. But I'm working on the game right now and I will release a new version next week. It will solve most of those bugs, and as a new addition it will add: ■ Injured people will have a life bar indicator in the SAR missions, and they could die if you do not take them to the hospital in time. ■ And a new mission called: THE SWAMP.3 points

Guys this thread is on the ARC-210, lets please keep it on topic. As far as the other stuff, we have said what we have said on it, we know you guys want all this, and it will most likely happen but we are not going to over promise as we do not know how things will go long term. On the AN/ALQ-184 Long Pod, it was requested by one of the SME's we chat with (never a feature for the A-10C II that I know of) and we said that we would do it, its just not a high priority item, but it will happen. Thanks.3 points

Well, realistic or not I find that our vision in VR is already hampered more than enough, by other factors which are harder to eliminate. Lens glare, resolution, black levels etc. We dont need any artificial impediments3 points

ALL of our 4th Gen Legacy fighters are amazing platforms, and we are being treated to the Golden Age of mil flight sim by ED right now. However... Almost weekly, I'll come across some YT video of a DCS PvP BFM fight, a real world Hornet driver praising the jet, real world non-Hornet driver praising the jet, etc...when, invariably, someone in the comment section (or in the ole' forums) will say something like the following under an interview with former F-14D Tomcat & F/A-18A Hornet Pilot Mike Vizcarra (below): and other general slams such as: "The Hornet is a lame duck" "The Tomcat is superior in BFM" "The Viper is superior in every way, especially in BFM" "The Eagle is superior in BFM" "The DCS Hornet is overpowered because I lost to it in BFM" etc. etc. It seems to me that the Legacy Hornet (especially the big-engine Charlie) is one of the most misunderstood, underrated dogfighters in the world. For those who are interested, I thought I'd drop you a bunch of (mostly) time-stamped links to various real world F-15C, F-15E, F-14A/D, F-16C T-bird, and Legacy Hornet crew praising the Legacy Charlie and its WVR performance, and busting some other coffee-table-book-myths about the Legacy Hornet. One thing to note: ALL of the men here have plenty of DACT experience against every 4th Gen USAF/Navy fighters (which of course many of them talk about if you want to watch the whole video). Finally, HUGE shout outs to Mike and Steve at AC Interview and 10 Percent True! If you don't subscribe to either of these guys' online content, you are missing out BIG TIME. Enjoy... The external textures created by Eagle Dynamics for their F-16 Viper seem to have been left in an unfinished state since Early Access release. Which means details, as well as a somewhat realistic or authentic weathering pattern are absent next to many other things. I spent a lot of work in the past to improve and add up all these small details to the external textures. Overall I added many missing panels, rivets, holes, exhausts, vents, seams, lights and other details to the whole aircraft. Too long and finicky to list all the changes in detail. So below is a short list of the main changes and improvements so far. Added missing panels, rivets as well as holes and exhausts to the bottom fuselage Added more detail to the engine exhaust Added dirt, scratches and leaked oil to the airbrakes mechanism Reworked all rivets and added rivets on the top fuselage (rivet counter) Added textures to the M61 gun Added sealant to the canopy frame, RWR and AIFF antennas - Added new cockpit textures (Currently a sort of WIP placeholder. They are a custom mix of textures made by watermanpc and wolfthrower) So far I reworked the main fuselage, some parts of the tail, all pylons and the fuel tanks. The wings will be overhauled as well with new rivets, etc. WIP preview screens. Compared to the "default" livery by ED (before). Sealant around the RWR antenna Static discharge mounts New engine exhaust. The gas residue on the inside of the nozzles is not final and may vary, can be lighter. Textures for the M61 gun Textures for the internal air refueling door Panels and rivets on the belly near the tailhook Sealant around the AIFF antennas and rivets on the canopy New rivets on the aft fuselage Sealant around the canopy and the AIFF antennas. New rivets and details to the main top fuselage. Close up of the refueling door with new rivets and deeper seams. Complete overview of the main fuselage. Notice the tail (hollywood) lights. My favorite so far, the sealant around the canopy.2 points

I just finished mission 15. What an awesome mission! What an awesome campaign! I think it was a lot more realistic, a little more drama in the beginning where you felt for the characters in this than in the previous Raven One campaign, and a little less in the end. The last mission in Raven One was so dramatic with the dawn attack and the dogfight over Iran, and the VERY close fuel call. Hard to match that! But this campaign was so well done, such immense work you put into it! Such attention to detail! A huge thank you for this awesome experience! I really feel like a real Hornet driver now! /Sharkku2 points

I think the big reason to fly the F-15E over the F/A-18, which no one seems to have stated, is simply that the Hornet looks like crap and the Eagle is classic ass kicking sexiness. Arguments about arsenals are pointless in this fact, hence why I fly the Tomcat currently over the Bug in our Naval squadron. [emoji1787] Sent from my 2107113SG using Tapatalk2 points

Hmmmm, looks to be very reasonably price and with good discounts. I really thought it would be more. S79.99 US is about $107 Canadian. Less than the A-10C II which hit $110 Canadian on Steam at one point. No complaints here.2 points

Hello Flyers.... I should have thought of this sooner. I think it fixed my problem. There's a 'power' setting in windows that --- even in High performance mode, is set to 'save power'... It is the USB ports. See pic. It defaults to 'enabled'.... Please set this and other power saving options, such as sleep, hard drive turn off, etc. to disabled.2 points

Thanks to all who offered advice. In the end I submitted a ticket to DCS, and got the reply within an hour. I appear to have clicked an option to run Windows 8, which was located within the DCS intro. Problem solved and thanks to Mike at DCS.2 points

In the F-15 Eagle’s early years, it did carry bombs (and conformal tanks) in USAF service. In the 1980s Langley assigned F-15s were part of the USAF’s rapid deployment team, and incorporated air to ground capability as they’d be first in the theatre. The “not a pound for air to ground” F-15 featured the same CCIP modes as the F-16. Once the F-15E entered service in the late 1980s the air to ground systems and training requirements were removed from the “Light Grey” Eagle squadrons. While the F-15C fleet may be a single mission outfit now, it was not always so. The “not a pound for air to ground” ad copy doesn’t stack up with the F-15s development or military procurement reality. One does not spend $40-$100 million on a twin engine long range fighter plane without building in at least rudimentary bombing capability. Even the Soviets built it into the Su-27/MiG-29 despite having no intention of using them for air to ground missions in the PFI/LFI requirements.2 points

You, and a few others in this thread, made your point. There's really no need to bump this thread each month @Magic Zach. Please remember that many, if not most DCS players couldn't care less about this. Also, as said before in this thread by many that actually did try VR; there really isn't a proper way to implement a head limiter for VR users, other than an actual physical barrier.2 points

IDK....I think it only seems exaggerated because it's a computer simulation focused on a screen or in VR glasses. I live in Arizona, in the Southern United States, about 200 miles north of the Mexican border and just driving my car at sunset is awful. The same is true for sunrise, but I'm not a morning person. The glare that I see in game is no worse. I don't see much more glare than that in game. I would hate to be flying a real plane in these conditions.2 points

HOW TO CORRECTLY MAKE A DESIGNATION AND DROP JDAMS (to avoid dropping on your current waypoint) First, get into your sensor HOTAS mode: -SSaft twice (you will go throught the LST mode upon first press first, you'll see TV in the MPCD confirming you're in the right mode) - or double tap SSDown to go into TPOD HOTAS mode (confirmed by the TPOD writing in the MPCD) Find your target and designate it. To ensure good designation, always complete a T.A.C.L. : -TDC down (designates with the current sensor) -APS (name of the throttle button on the radar bird that fires the laser to refine coords, not always applicable. In the N/A, fire the laser using the OSB button) -Cage/uncage (not always applicable ) -Long WINC (will match steering and targeting cues) So now you have designated your target with the sensor you've slewed on it. ------ Now, the JDAMS, have two modes of release : JDAMs Direct Attack : Select the JDAMs in the store or EHSD page if you are in A/G master mode. Long press on the WPInc button or on the EHSD arrows to bring up the Quick Access menu. As you have a designation with the TPOD it will select TGT on the ODU and 0 will populate on the UFC, T0 will be selected between the EHSD arrows. The T0 is a peculiar target point, it stores the coords of the current designation. The entering in the QA ( Quick Access) menu will summon the Direct Attack symbology Your JDAMs are now in direct attack mode and targeting the T0 coords. You can slew the TPOD, the coords will be what you are designating through it. Master arm, pickle, one away. JDAMs Absolute Attack : You'll need to use a targetpoint from the system (you can of course use target points you entered manually). You can make one with the TOO. Push TOO on the UFC, then select tgt in the ODU, enter a number in the UFC (or leave the one displayed, it is usually following the last one you made), press enter, you just created a target using the designation source : the TPOD/DMT/System Des. You can now select the JDAMs, it'll bring the WPN menu in the ODU. If it disappears you can summon it again with the WPN UFC button. Push on TGT on the ODU, then select the target numbers on which you want to drop. Master arm, pickle, one away.2 points

Sweet! That would be amazing - as I said, I'm very much enjoying the campaign - its shame that ED updates make so much unnecessary work for you guys. I suppose a wishlist item for ED would be to have the default loadout be something era-appropriate for the airframe, instead of always being the most modern and best-available missiles. Especially for legacy aircraft that are less likely to get pitted against 4th gens packing AMRAAM's and -9x's. Hopefully with the release of the HB F-4 there will be options for AIM-9B, AIM-9J as well.2 points

I was surprised to see how little love the F-5E Tiger gets in terms of panels and dashboards despite being 6 years old (no helios panel either ) so thought I'd do something to rectify this. I've started putting together a series of Touch Portal pages for the F-5E. These are based on a 12x8 grid of buttons and are designed to work on ~10 inch or larger iPads and Android tablets (apologies in advance - you'll need Touch Portal Pro due to the large number of buttons). I've built four panel pages broadly around different phases of flight rather than concentrating on slavishly replicating each individual instrument panel: Page 1 - Ground: commands for starting the plane and taxing to the runway Page 2 - Flight: commands for the takeoff, cruise, and landing phases (radios, nav, fuel, lights) Page 3 - Combat: commands for A/A and A/G combat (weapons, radar, RWR) Page 4 - Simulation: DCS commands (views, comms etc) For now this is a purely passive dashboard - it can only send commands to DCS, it can't receive aircraft flight information or state information via DCS-BIOS. I plan to implement this in the future so I've put the required buttons for this in the panels however, the screenshots show whats not functional at the moment. That said if you can get this working, feel free to redistribute a version with the aircraft info. Full information on the download page (including which parts of the panels aren't functional for now and any other limitations/omissions)2 points

G2 is probably the best price/performance choice still, but it suffers in three areas that really annoy me still... - lcd instead of oled display makes night flying not so great. I've gone back to using my Odyssey+ for night flying on all my sims - FOV is a little too narrow, you get used to it - but it's really too small - Edge Clarity, probably the biggest drawback - the center is crystal clear but that's really only half the FOV, the rest is really borderline unacceptable. There are other headsets that mitigate some of these - Areo, pimax etc.... but at significant additional cost - I would be really happy if someone could address the issues above, doesn't even need to be an increased resolution over the G2, and do it for around $500 in WMR format like the G2 so I don't need to buy receiver stations. I'd get that in a heart beat. I think the tech is all there, its just that no vendor has packaged it like that yet. They all seem to be chasing other things unfortunately.2 points

A flyover has been requested by Las Vegas Speedway this weekend and your unit has been tasked with performing the show. Use the ToS/ToT feature and on your jet, communication and timing skills to perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem. This is a great way to train for Time on Target missions, or for those who love airshow flying. - Perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem at Las Vegas Speedway. - Fly either an F-18c or F-16c_50 - Approx. time: 25min (you'll spend about 10-15min holding and turning circles if you get up in the air too fast. This is designed to help people get into formation/position) - Practice holding in a position to wait for the ToT/ToS call. Try to maintain 45-60sec turns. - Fly either A 4-ship formation where your Lead is the only one concerned with ToT/ToS Or fly to separate waypoints and meet up over the center of the stadium at the exact time. - Communicate with your wingmen to deconflict altitude. The stadium already as fireworks and doesn't need more. - Don't rely on the carrot symbol on your HUD, but follow your directed Ground Speed to be more accurate. NOTE: This mission was made using Hasard Lee's youtube video "How Flyovers Work" as reference. I am not an actual pilot. Any comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks!1 point

Lots of people are feeling the pain now I think, pretty much everyone is affected that exports anything, helios, simpit builders with heavily modified files etc. ED doesn’t have a way to really separate viewport exports from the integrity check, its a very basic system. I hope they understand how important it is to as lot of us and care enough to revamp it one day. IC is their crackdown on cheating but right now its an all or nothing kind of system. I totally understand not wanting people in servers with modified flight dynamics or weapons but exporting displays is 100% silly to get flagged for. Just the other day I saw a guy on the dcs discord asking someone to walk them through modifying an aim-120 to go double the distance and fly faster.. nah dude we don’t want you lol1 point
