  3. We had a survey on the website http://dcsworld.pl/ (its not the official ED website for sure but focused on DCS in Poland too). The survey was conducted in a Facebook group, in Polish, but Im posting its results here. They are very interesting. Nearly 350 people took part in the survey. It may be useful to someone.   8. Livery report Dear T-38C Fans On release the T-38C will feature 14 liveries based off IRL reference images. These will include: Line jets from: Vance AFB, Sheppard AFB (ENJJPT), Columbus AFB Randolph AFB. As well as 6 special painted liveries from Columbus and the 5 heritage jets from Sheppard's AFB. Special paints: 5 ENJJPT heritage paint schemes 1 Columbus heritage paint schemes Later on during development, add additional download packs for each T-38C base, adding unpainted jets, more special paints etc. We will do our best to recreate the liveries and bring the jet to life in DCS by recreating specific jets with their decals, dirt and panels. If you have any liveries which is not in the Discord make sure to post them in our discord T-38C liveries are a priority, but you can suggest A liveries, and we may get to them later down the road We hope to have liveries on our model soon, we are currently finishing up the final touches on the external model.   9. Do you have the F-14? Are you flying with a real human as RIO or with AI? I'm flying mostly with a fly-buddy, but since we both want to be Maverick, no one could be bothered to properly learn the backseat. We have fun with it anyway. I'm not concerned with leaving the backseat in the hands of Jester. And even if I will never utilize the F-4 to its full potential, I can't wait to see and feel it "from inside"! p.s. @_Milan_, @Raven (Elysian Angel) Guys, please let it drop. I'm starting to feel bad for bringing it up - it's OT, let's not fill this thread with more OT!

  10. Why so many people come here to disrespect fellow customers/players?? People are disapointed, worried and frustrated. It is normal when you are used in a leverage in a dispute you don't know nothing about. There is little room for speculation in how this action have shattered customers trust. Yet some very smart sim enthusiasts feel the need to spent the weekend here trashing other customers claims.

  11. Да мне, как конечному пользователю, абсолютно пофиг, ED или сторонний разработчик... Товар был выставлен именно ED, приобреталось в магазине ED... А если схлопнется разработчик - ED разведет руками? Типа - ничего личного - это просто бизнес? Это не правильно... Ответственность несет именно ED, как продавец.. Должен быть предусмотрен механизм компенсации при схлопывании разработчика. Обмен или возврат за НЕКАЧЕСТВЕННЫЙ товар....

  12. Hi all, Just wanted to quickly share some of my experience with the PIMAX Crystal. I was lucky enough to by loaned a Crystal to test, over the weekend I have set it up and tested. Initially I had issues with USB but quickly resolved after changing ports and using the correct USB 3 port on my machine with the powered HUB. After updating the firmware I had the headset up and running, and I can say I am very impressed, the quality of the lenses are great. I have used various headsets in the past, DELL Visor, VIVE Cosmos, and Reverb G2 and going to the crystal felt like an upgrade to me which was nice. The headset does feel slightly heavier than I am used to but the fit is good and the headset felt secure on my head. First use of DCS I did have some issues with white flickering, it turned out to be motion smoothing creating the issue and once disabled was no longer a problem. Quad foveated views with eye tracking make a huge difference, and my FPS was even higher than I usually get with the G2. 75 FPS in the AH-64D even while on the ground, once in the air 75 - 90 fps and very smooth. My rig: Windows 11, NVIDIA MSI RTX 3090, Intel® i9-10900K 3.70GHz - 5.30GHz Turbo, Corsair Hydro Series H150i Pro, 64GB DDR @3200, ASUS ROG Strix Z490-F Gaming I am certainly considering the PIMAX Crystal for my next headset after this initial experience, and want to thank @Calvin.Pimax and PIMAX for giving me the opportunity to test one.

Hello, A feature that I like to use in DCS is the ability to click on a vehicle or static object on the F10 map and being able to take a look at said vehicle or object by pressing the corresponding view key (F7 or F12). It is very useful for mission making and training. However, having to enter the F10 map every time to do so is sometimes cumbersome (specially if you forgot to turn the autopilot on prior to entering the F10 view). So, what I would like to see in DCS is a F10 mini map shown on the screen while playing or viewing other objects. See the edited screenshots below as a concept of what I'm trying to convey. In MSFS there is a moving map that is useful for navigation, something similar, but without losing some functionalities for DCS. That would help new players and mission makers. Of course, make it optional to turn it on or off for those who want another tool to help and for those who thrive for full realism.

  17. Personally I dig the full real mode as well. But I see no reason to force that all the time for everyone especially in single player. I don’t see much gameplay difference between a windowed or full screen map really. It’s hardly destroying the sim.

  18. You realise, of course, that adding a map to the game that the game already has doesn't suddenly turn it into this, right? It's a UI quality-of-life improvement, not a complete rework of how the entire game operates from its very core.

  19. As stated, ammo and fuel detonation are not functioning right now, we are waiting on proper effects and dev time to add it. Thanks. That said, it's realistic to expect every or even a great percentage of your fights to end up in fiery explosions.

  20. I highly doubt HB opened the F-4E early access sale and then announced a huge delay just to spite Aerges. HB can only lose from such a move. The F-4E has a very large and very eager fan base that would buy it regardless of other models they were tempted to buy just before the sale - a huge fraction of their sales potential is assured. The opposite is not true regarding Aerges and F1, and my own example is a testimony to that. So HB can hurt Aerges, but have little to gain from it, and they did take a reputation hit from these events. The sale & delay was a fiasco not a cunning plan.

  22. Full on explosive detonation of fuel within an aircrafts fuel tanks is not that common; to get the exact fuel/air mixture required for a fuel explosion is actually a pretty tight ratio. Not to say it never happened, but when aircraft are reported as exploded in combat reports I would tend to suspect ordnance, ammo or oxygen bottles for sudden explosive dissassembly of an airframe on probablilities alone. Sometimes even the pilots description of exploding the belly tank is suspicious - they may have set the tank ablaze, sure, but actually detonating it to cause it and it's parent aircraft to suddenly become aluminium confetti....? Yeah, nah. Not likely. Though agreed, any of those is a bit lacking in the DCS WW2 airframes currently. The degradation of structural strength through prolonged exposure to fire is a separate issue, but one that too seems only to affect the Mosquito in DCS currently. Needs improving.

  23. That is utter speculation and there is no substance to that statement. I'd look forward to your evidence that HB would do such a thing beyond your interpretation. I actually think the release of the F-4 will make the F1 even more popular. Currently there isn't a directly comparable 3rd gen aircraft to the F1 in DCS, with the CE being a mid70s vintage. The F-4E that we get is early 70s, and aside from being a more complex two seater, have similar capabilities. I suspect people will jump in to the F-4 and become naturally interested in trying other aircraft, and most particularly the likes of the F1 and future MiG-23. Principally because the Mirage and Phantom complement each other in terms of gameplay - not compete. The presence of both serve to greatly enrich the Cold War gameplay potential DCS has.

  27. I found the issue. It looks like I just had too many USB devices connected (not controllers per se, just devices in general). My simpit is next to my workstation, so I have almost everything in double, keyboards, mice, plenty of wireless dongles, etc. With the added hubs from the simpit, I assume it was too much to handle. I removed what I was not really using, and can now connect all my Winwing and Virpil devices without a problem every time. Rebooted several times, all devices now keep the same ID. Thanks Speed for that JoyID app, that turned out to be quite useful. If this can help somebody with a similar issue in the future. Thanks for the suggestions guys really appreciated.

  32. Salute I have just created what I think is a first for DCS (if you know different please let me know). Thanks to the tools available in the excellent DML Tool Box by @cfrag, I have created a mission that I will be hosting for the first time this evening (UK time 20:00BST GMT+1) as a public beta test. I have tested as much as I can but need to open it up to proper iron out the wrinkles. Therefore please be patient with me, if you find issues with game-play (spawns need moving, too many tanks, not enough tanks of different types etc), let me know and I will do all I can with the units and game engine that is available to us sort it out. The mission I have created is called "DCS Advance & Secure" and replicates as best I can the excellent scenario as played out in IL2 Tank Crew. I first came to DCS looking for a tank alternative to IL2 when it looked like IL2 was stagnating and said that I was just going to buy Combined Arms and the WWII asset pack only (year and a bit later I own multiple planes and helicopters and maps ) SERVER NAME DD_Friar DangerDogz DCS Advance and Secure THE SCENARIO The scenario is WWII tanks on the Normandy map (see below). There are no planes, just tanks. For those of you who are not familiar with the "Advance and Secure" concept the mission is the two sides A(Allies blue Axis red) start at either end of the map and push to capture all of the flag points along the route. As a point is captured new additional spawn points are created in the vicinity of the town. If the town was previously held by the enemy their spawn points are removed, thus pushing them back to their last held location for spawn points. The first team to capture all of the 4 flag points wins the mission. DIFFICULTY SETTINGS No F2 external views, so no "god views" (although the default tank external view is enabled), No in game icons, own side only on the F10 map. The server is set for a maximum of 16 a side. If this server proves popular I will look to enlarge this somehow.) It will not be running 24/7 at the moment and I will advertise when it it is going to be available, I hope it will become a regular thing if it proves to be popular. I do not have any Teamspeak or Discord available for this test and will have this forum thread open in case anyone has any issues. I will hope to get something sorted again if this site proves popular as it will be good to talk to fellow "tankers". GAME PLAY A flag is "captured" by driving into a zone 30m deep around the flag (flag picture below). When captured the fact will be recorded in a global message and the score updated. The zone will also change colour from neutral to either Blue or Red on the F10 map. This will then enable two spawn points located near by. If the enemy previously held the point their spawn points will be removed. (The example in the picture is not a true location. It was moved closer just for the picture). Only 1 tank is required to capture a zone and does not have to stay in the zone to retain ownership. If there is an enemy tank in the zone when you enter the zone, it will be declared under contention and go neutral. Positions for the units are random at each spawn point generation. Totals are renewed each time. If you are in the friendly spawn zone when the flag changes hands you will be removed from the tank. You will then have to re-spawn at one of your other locations. Rearming is available within the spawn zone so if you run out of ammo in the battle you can retreat from the front line back to the zone. It is not my intention for players to start issuing commands to the unoccupied tanks, although there is nothing I can about it as the only way for players to occupy a tank is to have the "Tactical Commander" role, so please do not feel tempted just because you can. Friendly kills WILL be monitored. You will have 1 chance, accidents do happen in war after all, but 2 or more you will get kicked form the tank. EQUIPMENT Totals at each spawn point Allied - Sherman x 10 / Firefly x 5 / Churchill x 5 / Cromwell x 5 / Greyhound x 3 / M4 Half-track x 3 Axis - Pnzr 4 x 15 / Tiger 1 x 6 / Stug IV x5 / Kdf 251 x 3 / Puma x3 MISCELLANEOUS I would suggest when driving around, if you have never used Combined Arms before at this level you treat all obstacles with caution until you have tested it for yourself if you can drive through it. For example you CAN go through wooden railed fences (they seem to have a damage model so other players will know you have passed through there) but some hedgerows will stop you dead, I think they are made with concrete reinforced with iron bars (but with no damage to the tank thankfully), others you can drive through with no problem. Thankfully this is consistent by type, i.e. if you find a style that you can drive through this will be global across the map. Please do not moan at me if one tank proves to be more potent than any others, if we find that I will try and balance the mission out in future. We have what we have. Lets hope this server if it proves popular will show ED that Combined Arms does have a value for future development.   33. This sim is too much fun. I am actually progressing from really <profanity>ty to piss poor at it, but having fun. I am learning how to control the AI wingmen. My newest hardware piece arrive Wednesday, the WinWing PTO 2 panel. Today I am going to begin to figure out how to use "Voice Attack." Only problem is today I have to spend some time 1. at Watkins Glenn (drive the track opening day event) and 2. Doing F(*&)(*& Taxes. Mike

  34. The MiG-29 manual is full of warnings about false contacts both radar/IR, over swampy or wet areas. How the target indicator will go down if you select false target. And the range/azimuth inaccuracy for each mode. Hope all these things are modeled. The IRST should have good filtering, but should also show false things

Concordo, ma il problema non è purtroppo solo delle terze parti: la stessa ED, che è fuor di dubbio lavori solo per DCS, ha tra i suoi moduli lo yak-52, un addestratore ad elica praticamente disarmato che manca ancora di importanti features, una tra tutte il damage model, ed è in cantiere da... quanti anni? Abbastanza perchè altri aereoplani ad elica, armati, siano usciti dopo e già più avanti coi lavori. E senza contare che su un altro ambiente simulativo esiste uno yak-52 che in confronto questo... vabbè basta fare una ricerca online. Comunque lo yak-52 è il classico esempio della mano destra che non sa quel che fa la sinistra, ed è di ED. Anche su questo concordo: a parte l'esempio dello yak-52 di cui sopra, non è un mistero per nessuno che esistano altrove delle terze parti (A2A, PMDG, simcoders, ma giusto per citare alcune tra le più famose) che peraltro sono fatte anche loro da uno sparuto numero di programmatori e che se ne escono con roba, quanto a livello di dettaglio, che non ha nulla da invidiare ai moduli di DCS, ma con ben altre tempistiche però.

Two squadrons of Su-17M2 Fitter-D bombers were placed near the Iranian borders. 806th Fighter Bomber Air Regiment at Kzyl-Arvat airport from 14th Air Army and 168th Guard Fighter Bomber Air Regiment at Mary-2 airport from 34th Tactical Air Army. Both squadrons had 1st Class pilots. These squadrons were suitable for nuclear offensive missions. These two squadrons were stationed there in order to keep the Iranian forces at bay. The Mary-2 airfield played a significant role in supporting the Soviet troops in Afghanistan and the Afghan army. The main volume of military cargo went there through the Tashkent-Vostochny airport (Tuzel) to the airfields of Mary, Kokaity, Karshi and Ferghana. When necessary, routine maintenance could also be carried out. Mi-8, Mi-24 helicopters, UTI-MiG-15, and Il-28 bombers were mainly sent from factories or other bases.

  45. The first pair is built—well, almost. I'm still waiting for the crimp pliers and crimps to put a connector on the battery. They'll probably arrive on Monday and then I'll be able to do the final testing.
