Hi, we've detected a problem with missing parts on the generic Essex class carrier and also with the launchbar of the F-8. We're testing fixes currently and hope to push out Vietnam War Vessels 0.5.4 hotfix tomorrow. Cheers, TeTeT6 points

Video from the TPS Gang on F14A departure/spin characteristics and recovery procedures that shows what we were dealing with. The video illustrates the severe problems that result from inertial coupling due to sideslip. These are valid for both AFCS F14 variants that we have in the sim, the only difference is that the B is less likely to generate engine stalls. As always, using rudder inputs only to roll at high alpha will help keep you out of trouble. Roll, then pull, and wake up those feet!5 points

Dear Sirs! Don't want to be rude or something but having All the helicopters without Mi-2 is a bit like eating Mustard without sausage. Some say, that module in DCS is a ultimate monument for a dying vanishing vessel. These small bird is worth immortalizing. Please support me guys in it.4 points

I'm going to address this thread in a very direct, matter-of-fact manner to ensure there is no misunderstanding, because I am trusting that we can all discuss this as adults. I know DCS is available to all ages of course, but I know several of the individuals in this thread (to include the OP) are in fact adults and so I will treat them as such, instead of beating around the bush. There is no malice in my response below, it is simply expressing the facts of the situation before this thread snowballs out of hand, since it has already been linked elsewhere as an indictment against DCS as a whole. In January, Lord Vader linked this thread to me and asked for my feedback regarding the OP's claim that the front windshield panels should have a blue tint, and asked if it was realistic. My reply to him is below: "I would like to clarify that the real aircraft has no tint on the canopy. The reported issue was that the external model seems to have a tint to it, but that there should not be any tint at all. It is a little strange that the same user that posted the original bug report about the external model having tint when it shouldn't, subsequently created a mod with tint in it. The ballistic glass that occupies the forward windscreens as shown in the image above do reflect light a little differently than the side plexiglass, which can lead some to believe there is tint to it depending on viewing angle. But none of the cockpit windows actually have any tint to them." The interpreted intent behind the thread was a claim that the front windshields needed to have a noticeable blue tint that contrasted the side and overhead windows. This is why Lord Vader marked the thread "correct as is", and that is why he responded the way he did, because I personally told him that the front windshields should NOT have any special blue tint to them as the OP seemed to be claiming in his second post. Granted, the OP did also claim that none of the windows should have any tint to them at all, which is what likely contributed to confusion within the thread. But that is irrelevant. Regardless of how we got here, the answer to the question of whether the AH-64D has any tint to any of the windows whatsoever is that it should not, but the current external model in DCS does in fact have a slight blue shading to it. This is acknowledged; however, I will tell you that this is a very low priority to be changed by the devs. When it comes down to it, it does not impact gameplay in any way, and there is no noticeable tint effects as seen from within the internal cockpit view. The ED artists have other priorities that they must be focused toward. This is the reality of the situation, therefore I have changed the tag on the thread to "intended as is" to hopefully encourage everyone to put away their pitchforks. [By the way, before any replies are posted insisting that I defer to SMEs on this topic, I spent 20 years in US Army Aviation, the majority of which was spent flying AH-64Ds.]4 points

The lights are very funky in this plane and with the exception of what's marked as TODO in our manual, is accurate. IIRC, TODO are the 6 knobs on the right wall and the fact that the Flight Ibstrunent Knob currently doesnt control the brightness of the 6 main instruments but they are instead linked to the instrument brightness rotary as well. And SAI lighting is missing. This is mostly because splitting out 6 lighting animations individually per cockpit is a bit complex and would take the art guys quite some time afaik.4 points

Hello everyone, while searching through my archives I found photos of my stay in Afghanistan in the Kapisa valley in 2008 - 2009. With these photos I pay tribute to the ground personnel and the CHINOOK crews who participated in the operations alongside us. May they be blessed for their dedication and professionalism. CH-47F Chinook of Company B - "Varsity", 7th Battalion, 101st Airborne Division CH-47F Chinook of Company B - "Pachyderms", 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and others that I have not identified...... Photos on board.... And various missions.... oups ! after an eventful flight the panel left its place without authorization !3 points

Hi Guys, particularly the Heatblur guys (I assume you monitor this forum) How about some added features for the Viggen, to increase immersion? Maybe include the cockpit ladder when parked up with the canopy open and maybe an interactive power supply as per the Phantom. BTW, I have the Phantom and the F-14, purely to support ED and Heatblur, so maybe Heatblur can support me and give me a ladder at least Kind regards, Nial3 points

Those that have had WinWing for a while will remember back to when running SimAppPro had a significant performance hit. Then a user discovered there was a setting in the wwtExport.lua file in the Saved Games/Scripts/WWT file that was causing it to poll the controls at about 100 fps. They changed it eventually to 1.0 which solved a lot of the issues. Somewhere one of the recent updates it seems that it got changed back to 0.03 AND the setting for it to NOT change this file no longer works. Set it to READ ONLY and it will stop it from changing back each time you re-launch SimAppPro EDIT: see this post for a workaround on it changing on re-launch without going read only: I discovered all this because my performance on the deck on the carrier had got crappy.3 points

Good evening, I have isolated the mod "US Submarine Pack version 1.0.0" which is responsible for the defective "Project 22800 Karakurt" textures on my system. Once disabled the textures are normal3 points

Update for PB Wishtan, I have deleted the file on user files as there were some issues that users were having with the download. The new file is awaiting user file approval. When this happens I will update the relevant post. Wishtan and Jackson are live, see the posts above.3 points

I am just happy that ED made the Map available for a 14 day Trial. Nothing wrong with trying it out first hand for myself and deciding if it is for me at this time. I also have Kola, Sinai, and South Atlantic. Thank you @Eagle Dynamics for giving us a Trial of this Early Access Map.3 points

So I tried to do the opposite and find the issue visuals. I really tried to go back over this with fresh eyes. I am having a hard time finding the BAD vs the good. I've flown nearly non stop in this map,(helicopters) spent hours going from map to map comparing a lot of things. Everytime I see something that is off it appears "the usual" on every other map. Which, I also find gorgeous visuals on every map. Be that it may... I do have a well tuned higher end pc in vr. I actually have the opposite experience, I see lots of satellite terrain untouched still, however this is found throughout the majority of Caucasus, yet its still a great visual experience. Lots of 2d imagery, used on every map so this is nothing new. I see farmland next to squared textures in certain spots, but it's few and far between and looks easily fixable, and still what's seen on other maps. I hate other maps, low and slow helo, miles of nothing, flat tan in all directions. Now open space is fill with farmland and various rivers or streams, even if it's satellite and not touched up yet. It's refreshing and gives you something to look at or hide troops for sporadic engagements. Unlike spotting a single enemy from miles and miles away in a flat desert. I'm not looking for perfection, but I have not seen anything that's game breaking. Maybe my expectations are lower, not once have I flown and thought "this is absurd". I've seen the major graphical terrain alignments, these will be corrected. I'm expecting more issues than I'm seeing this early. I'm not getting pop ins, or shadows out of nowhere, aside from the usual here and there, few and far between again. I've seen people's pictures that upset them, yet it seems it's minimal and often harder to find than complementing visuals. This whole back and forth baffles me in this community, and has taken up too much of my time trying to find as many issues as possible, so I too can help report things to ED for future updates. (The whole purpose I bought this in the first place) Mission editors have already been doing some cool things with fobs and base setup. And lastly, being this update has caused many issues for many, this map runs extremely well, however I don't have many issues on other maps anymore so that isnt the best baseline maybe. I spend a lot of time trying to make DCS better. So now as a community, let's continue to scout the issues and report, rather than efforts in... "but this areas this or this area is that". Let's be the future, or does optimism really grind people's gears that much?3 points

I corrected that for you. I am personally happy we get a chinook I care less about the version. I have no relationship towards Italian version. But nothing against it either.3 points

FOr the record, the issues w/ Mods that HotLink FC3 Avionics and Pits has nothing to do with FC2024 itself, FC3 has been depreciated entirely, the Module ID is no longer active, so any mod that relied on "\Flaming Cliffs\..." Paths for cockpit art or systems etc, will no longer work. Also note, during the transition there was wonky Auth access for everyone, so FC3 is no longer part of the builds, users need to install the individual FCS Modules for A-10A, F-15C, MIG-29 SU25A, SU27, SU33 and have them Auth, Then the mods need to be revised to use the FCS Modules paths for Cockpit art and systems (ie Instead of "\Flaming Cliffs\... it should be \<F-15C><SU-27><SU-33>\ etc etc3 points

I'm perplexed, we don't give users an update, there's worry and frustration. We give an update, there's worry and frustration. As I said on Reddit...This is DCS development for all parties involved. Has no one learned about expectations? Unless users paid for a product not released, just enjoy the eye candy and carry on.3 points

Was never added for the Mig, are you thinking of adding it to the Corsair?2 points

IRL the altimeter will always start in pneumatic. It should allow you to switch it to electric once AC power is applied to the jet. checking that pneumatic and electric altimeter matches withing 75' of each other is one of the startup checklist items.2 points

Also selbst da keine Chance.

I would contact customer support. Something isn't linking properly if that's the case. I asked the question because there have been a number of posts from people who discovered they had forgotten where they purchased it and turned out it was the other and that was the issue. I'm guessing it's not the case, but do you currently have your Steam purchased FC3 bound to ED instead? That also can cause issues.2 points

Yup. turns out my first guess was correct. Suppose it makes sense, though it must have reduced the useful bomb load with that thing full. https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/uk/raf/lancaster/lancaster-iii-with-long-range-with-tank/#google_vignette2 points

Well, as a mission designer, that hits the spot for me . It's an incredible help for most of my (helicopter) mission designs. Note that as mission designer you can add FARP ability by adding the required objects, and have a great-looking FARP within seconds that completely integrates into the scenery.2 points

6 UK liveries for the VSN Hunter Mk6. These are mostly made from existing VSN skins within the mod or from the template within the mod, which is very basic, so they are not very high quality. Skins butchered and adapted to suit my game using resources from many different sites. You will need to find the VSN Hunter Mod from wherever it is being stored today, it keeps moving !!!! Credit to the original model and livery makers who are unknown to me. I wont be doing any more. I use Dropbox for more important things so grab this quick, I will disable the link in a day or two. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/u4yxybjqqystwwgcw3urj/CrazyEddies-VSN-Hunter-UK-Liveries.zip?rlkey=z5xeyyzmv6vzjk259toipn0o5&st=j0eectfv&dl=02 points

I use to have trouble trying to shake off the jitters and a massive hang over next day after a good session, but it was worth it. I was an avid follower of the war and still have all the magazines depicting the action. I find that the Harrier and today I checked the F-15, run the best at dirt level, with the F-15 running at 720 kts very smoothly low over the East Falklands. Maybe Razbam knows a thing. I'm only running one Bear for target practice, so it might deteriorate as I add assets. Adding 12 ships to an air attack force, caused a crash, which has stopped my updater working. Never mind, the game still works. (Solved). ..2 points

Hello Every one, since last DCS update, the MOD is broken, we don't have fix yet, only AG variants works at current time. We work hard to find solution or alternative. We apologize. Привет всем, с момента последнего обновления DCS мод не работает, исправления пока нет, в настоящее время работают только варианты AG. Мы прилагаем все усилия, чтобы найти решение или альтернативу. So, in tandem to the other thread, I cant say enough how dissapointed I am to have shelled out more money for the supposed "cutting edge" tech and latest improvements in DCS terrain rendering....to get what is simply put yet another example of blurry textures laid over terrain mesh with -really, definition points measured in the hundreds of metres rather than the centimetres that I was getting in FSX 15 years ago......mountain ranges with dead straight ridgelines hundreds of metres apart....mountain sides comprising flat planes with low res testures pasted over. Repetitive low res textures with detailed areas plonked over the top with no blending. Its really, really dissappointing after the same crap in Kola and SA. Check out these screen shots. Honestly, there are areas of the Caucusus and NTTR that look better than this. Is this really 15 years progress in scenery development in DCS? Why oh why oh why are the devs fixated in pumping out low res massive scale maps that are really terrible when they could make the map a quarter of the physical size with the same number of GB and have nice high res textures, more detailed terrain mesh and a lot more happy punters.......2 points
