Community Links Strike Package Studios / Contention Discord: Discord.gg/StrikePackage Contention Official Server Guide: guide.strikepackagestudios.com Contention Public Trello Roadmap: trello.strikepackagestudios.com Contention Public Tacview Drive: tacview.strikepackagestudios.com Strike Package Studios YouTube: YouTube.com/@strikepackagestudios General Server Description Contention is a Persistent, Dynamic DCS World PVP Campaign / Multiplayer Server that features a sandbox-style battlefield where players fight to capture all Airfields, FARPs, & Strongholds. Contention campaigns emphasize combined arms, teamwork, and strategy. Players are given the tools to achieve victory using a wide variety of tactics, including: CTLD (Player-Deployed Logistics), FAC (Artillery Command), Airborne Reinforcements, Drones, Bombers, Recon, Industrial Strikes, Naval Strikes, EWR Situational Awareness, AWACS & Tanker Support, Airlifts, Convoys, Combined Arms, Airfield Upgrade Systems, Advanced Zone Management Systems, and much more. Contention offers players an opportunity to make a difference in almost any DCS aircraft module. Players can dominate the skies and decimate ground objectives using advanced 4th generation fighters and attack aircraft, or challenge themselves with older airframes. Helicopters are the driving force of any Contention campaign and serve as the logistic backbone of a team. Trainer aircraft & Warbirds (WWII Planes) have many unique tools on Contention that can be used to accomplish impressive tasks and significantly impact a campaign. Contention campaigns are designed to be challenging. The goal is to create a full-scale PVP warzone and let players determine the outcome. There is no clear frontline or path to victory. Take advantage of the tools at your disposal, learn the server mechanics, and work with your teammates to conquer the battlefield. Persistence: The fight doesn’t end when the server restarts! All ground units are saved between server restarts, along with all other elements of the campaign. Almost nothing changes when the server restarts. This means that any units you create with CTLD or Credit Drops will be there when the server comes back up. This completely persistent environment is a core element of Contention. Each campaign is intended to feel like a large-scale, persistent conflict that can potentially last weeks at a time! Dynamic Mission Generation: Contention started off as more of a framework than a server. We wanted to make something that was easily-adaptable to any project. Another important goal was to make sure that our servers would continue to be fun and interesting for many years to come. So we created a highly-dynamic mission generation system that ensures that each campaign is different from the last. Many of the core objectives, like Airfields & FARPs, don’t move. However, almost all other objectives have some element of dynamic generation. Capture Points, Factories, Depots, and more are all selected from very large lists of potential options when a new campaign starts. Even more importantly, all ground units and SAM sites on the server are also generated dynamically to make sure their location and type are never predictable. Even attacking the same location throughout different parts of the same campaign can feel like a completely new experience. Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022 REV. 2 Fellow simmers, it is with great pleasure that I would like to present to you the newest revision of my CAUCASUS REDONE 2022 mod. The introduction of DCS 2.8 caused some problems with the previous version, so I decided to revamp it and enhance with some new features. The greatest change comes with the application of the sweetfx shaders which, of course, are optional but highly recommended. You will immediatelly see the difference in vibrance, tones and shading with almost no fps cost. My sweetfx settings will be attached to this post below. REV. 2, just like the previous version, gives you the option to install SNOWLESS WINTER pack, which has also been improved in some areas. I hope you will enjoy this version and have many successful sorties over Caucasus! Looking forward to hearing some feedback from you, guys! Best, Barthek INSTALLATION GUIDE 1. If you're using any terrain mods, please deactivate them to avoid potential complications. 2. Download the MOD in JSGME-ready format from HERE. 3. Unzip the content of this package to your JSGME mods folder within your DCS main folder. 4. Activate the mod in JSGME. You can find a great tutorial on how to do that HERE. 5. Preferably, set your gamma to 2.5. 6. [OPTIONAL] Download and install RESHADE from https://reshade.me. 7. [OPTIONAL] Download my reshade preset from HERE and place it in your DCS World OpenBeta\bin destination. 8. Launch DCS and pray it all works. MORE SCREENSHOTS OPTIONAL SNOWLESS WINTER / LATE AUTUMN: Answering to some requests of having a snowless version of winter, I hereby present to you some screenshots of what I managed to achieve in that regard. Below, please find the download link and instructions on how to install it. Have fun! INSTALLATION GUIDE 1. Make sure you have the main mod installed (it's not a standalone version). You can find it earlier in this post. 2. Download the SNLOWLESS WINTER pack from HERE. 2. Using JSGME (or another mod-managing software) install the optional SNOWLESS WINTER / LATE AUTUMN overwriting all necessary files when asked to do so. 3. If you want to go back to original version of winter, you will have to disable in your JSGME both the MAIN MOD and the optional SNOWLESS WINTER and then enable the MAIN MOD again. LOCALISATION: TEXTS ARE IN : ENGLISH, FRENCH OR GERMAN VOICE OVERS: CURRENTLY ALL IN ENGLISH DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE HANDBOOK AND MISSION DESCRIPTION https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338049/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338050/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338052/ WORLDS APART UH-1 Caucasus CAMPAIGN – STORMFRONT STORMFRONT is a story-driven campaign that follows the story of SPRING 2025. As in the first part of the WORLDS APART series, you find yourself in the role of a German Bell UH-1 helicopter pilot serving in the squadron "WOLF PACK," a German Army unit (Heeres Flieger). The Huey is still in service, not least because of its proven capabilities and reliability under challenging conditions. You are part of a crew of four: your commanding officer, Peter Berger, and the two gunners, Hans and Tom. FEATURES As in SPRING 2025, you will fly with others in the squadron, but you will be on your own in most missions. Combined missions with air and ground forces and naval units from different countries provide variety in an otherwise routine life. You'll conduct both unarmed transport and armed patrol and combat missions by day and night. Occasionally, circumstances require you to perform a task regardless of the weather conditions. GENERAL SITUATION Toward the middle of the year, the security situation in the world continued to deteriorate. The three superpowers continue to negotiate with each other but remain on an aggressive course. Although you and your colleagues achieved great success at the beginning of the year, and the situation has calmed down, especially in the south of Georgia around Batumi, the overall condition remains tense. Different countries have their fingers in the pie, and Western NGOs keep independence efforts alive. Economic interests and the desire to secure natural resources have not changed either. Thus, the Black Sea region continues to be a focus of tension and a constant threat to peace in the EMEA region. The overall situation remains very complex and complicated. The rebels within the Georgian army, who are fighting the moderate central government and seeking a violent reunification with the former Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, are weakened but not defeated. In the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, some armed forces of the regional neighbors support the Georgian population in their efforts to create a united Georgia. Far-right fascist groups are fighting Russian troops in Abkhazia. Under the auspices of the United Nations, many countries are deploying forces to separate the various competing armed groups. Parts of the German Armed Forces are entrusted with securing the southern part of Georgia and supporting the government forces in their fight to maintain peace and security in the region. In the process, the area of operations is increasingly shifting from Batumi to the north, and the squadron will probably be moved to Kobuleti in the future. YOUR ROLE You and your crew have returned to Batumi after your experiences in the spring. The situation is calm, and patrol flights are the central part of your program. Surveillance and presence. Your task is to support Georgian and German ground forces in securing the Batumi region before being deployed to Kutaisi in the north. Within your unit, callsign "WOLF PACK," you have the supporting part. You fly lightly armed patrols and transport troops and material. Until further notice, your squadron will remain stationed in the Batumi region and the local airfield. Introduction The missions build on each other, and the story evolves from mission to mission. You get all relevant and available information before each flight in the form of March Orders. The kneeboard also includes March orders, flight planning, navigation logs, airport maps, detailed maps, and satellite images. You have direct access during the flight by flipping back through the kneeboard folder. Unexpected things happen regularly, every day. Any additional information you get from other crew members over the radio. Just follow your commander's instructions because he keeps track of things. Information about unexpected things can be found under "Top Secret" on your kneeboard. It is not easy, but we rely on you to do your best to keep the peace. Good luck and always happy landings.

CGTC is an alternative package to improve the looks of the Caucasus map of DCS World, with extensively overhauled ground textures. It modifies everything texture related to the Caucasus terrain. From ground, mountain, rocks, to fields, trees, towns, airport terrain textures (and matching hangars), etc. It also modifies the gamma, palette and overall colors of the Caucasus, through readjusted ingame files (there are no Reshades here). It just doesn't modify the water or buildings/houses, as I see no need. It covers both the "High" and "Low" textures, so that it can be used also by those with older/slower GPUs, as well as those struggling with VR requirements. Latest 2.84.1 version of CGTC (release 21/May/2023) represents the biggest update to the mod since the initial release, with many improvements, additions and bug fixes. I don't find bugs with this mod but, if you find any, feel free to report them in this thread. DCS is constantly updated and it may break something in this mod at some point. At this point, the "CGTC project" is to be considered concluded. But then who knows about tomorrow... ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ - This mod was tested and made compatible with DCS 2.84 (but should be compatible with later versions) and does work with older versions as well (from 2.5 and up). - No performance impact as all of the texture replacements have similar format and size as stock defaults, and both "High" and "Low" terrain texture packages are included. - With no other mod dependencies, just install over vanilla (default) Caucasus map of DCS and off you go. - As usual with this type of mod, for Multiplayer it's only usable on servers with “Pure textures” disabled (in the integrity check). ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ CGTC (v2.84.1) download: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3321589/ I've included a "READ ME" in .PDF format (also available HERE) with all the necessary info: mod description, installation notes with suggested settings, credits/thanks, etc. Please take a moment to read it before using the mod or posting, as it should clear the most common doubts. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Also, as optional, you have two different options for the Caucasus' Shading Options, which slightly alter overall tones: - Modified based (CGTC uses this one by default) - Original based If you ever wish to change this, go to the main DCS folder and then into "...\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\shadingOptions\CGTC - shading options selection". Use the respective file as of your preference. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And now for the mandatory screenshots... Enjoy it!

untilCome Join Our Sunday Night Campaign! Every Sunday night at 9PM EST we host our campaign missions. These missions have a light story behind them, data cards to go along with each mission, and proper briefings. We try our best to maintain professionalism, teach proper procedure, and most of all have fun and work as a team during these missions. They are also persistent, if a group of units dies one mission, they will not make it to the next mission. We also utilize several scripts made by the community to enhance realism, such as the IADS Script, various Moose Scripts, and so on.

Multiplayer. Planes going submarine or floating above ground.
-0303- posted a topic in 2D Video Bugs
Bugs been around long before 2.7. Plane float above runway (seen once yesterday). Otherwise varying degrees of underground, just a bit of wheels buried to gears fully buried (saw that too yesterday. Wings buried is rare but happens. I assume it's not just me? Not a huge deal, but not right either. If I'd estimate, I'd see this every second time I fly multiplayer. Old pic. -
I made a mission for the Hind. When I first made it, I made a camp within a meadow, enveloped by trees on all sides. However I go to bed, wake up the next morning and boot up DCS to keep tinkering, and find that two areas of the forest have disappeared! A triangle section of forest was removed on the south side of the camp, and the strip of trees to the east have been cleared. No triggers or such have been used to clear terrain or obstacles. Screenshots I took on day 1 of making this mission: Note the south tent and container are hidden in the trees, and there is forest behind the parked Hind... And this is what I found this morning: Also of interest, within the ME it clearly shows in the altitude and satellite view that there should be trees where the voids are to the south and east But once you jump into the mission, the F10 map will display the trees as-rendered...missing: Perhaps also related, I noticed that the first time I boot up the ME from the menu, the trees won't render at all close up, but are barely visible when zoomed out in the ME: This^ however does not render completely treeless once you fly the mission, that's ME-specific only. So this last screenshot may be a separate issue. Attached is the mission I made Mi24 start.miz

I have a few and have seen a few screenshots of the old DCS 1.5 Caucasus and noticed the Ground textures in my opinion look better and have more depth to them, but aside from that one of the biggest killers for me is that theres no more small sandy looking shallow water shorelines, along the edges of the waterlines on the map. It all just looks like a drop off into deep water unless your flying very low next to it and even then it seems very underwhelming. This could be just me but I'd love to see those shorelines again if not the ground textures, but being a free map I certainly don't expect anything.. even the new textures aren't a big improvement.

I've recently received my 3080, so naturally I did some testing on how far I can push VR DCS wrt to settings. The results are very promising but mixed. It seems that another planes (even stationary ones, like on the Caucasus free flight mission, stationed at Senakhi-Kolki) can tank the fps regardless of hardware used. There are other strange drops in really strange places, like for example when flying upside down, or looking to the floor of the jet at the stick's base (inconsistent). What's more interesting it turns out that the thing tanking frames on the supercarrier isn't the supercarrier itself, but the models on it, which you can see later in the video. Here you can find a recording of my flight with fpsVR graph at the bottom. Video contains both the Caucasus and the Persian Gulf maps, on the later I'm launching from Supercarrier. The audio is in Polish - it is a recording of a twitch stream I did for my friends playing DCS. You can ignore it, although a follow would be much appreciated, thanks! The important part is that you can see the fps, the CPU and GPU usage and frametimes. I was using Speed of Heat's conversion of Kegetys shader mod, IC - compatible. No other mods. System specs for this video: i7-9700k @ stock on a z390 Aorus Elite board 32GB G.Skill Trident-Z RGB RAM 3200 MHz @ 3600 GeForce RTX 3080 MSI Gaming X Trio Valve Index VR headset If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hello everyone, new mission is online. Beginner friendly. Offers uncomplicated entry into possible ATC procedures, simple brevity codes and escort flight, as well as navigating by waypoints in rain and light fog. Single player. > Khatia from Kutaisi < In this fictitious scenario, Abkhazia and South Ossetia have joined Russia. Georgia then became a member of NATO. The tensions between Nato and Russia are enormous. Your task is to escort a Tornado IDS on a reconnaissance flight. The mission has plenty of voiceovers and is relatively simple in design with triggers, zones and commands. No scripts or mods were used. Have fun flying or be inspired for your own projects. Feel free to leave feedback here or in the user files.

After many tests, I'm announcing a new server series: The Syria Offensive, and The Kaukasus Offensive What Makes This Server Unique? This server is perfect for smaller groups of players, allowing for quick engagement in action. With average distances between FARPs being just 30-50 km (16-25 nm), you’ll be in the heat of battle in no time. nullnull Even a single player can make a big difference and change the way the campaign goes! The community is small, and thus very helpful and friendly, you will find your flight mate easily. You may already be familiar with The Caucasus Offensive—it’s been running for over 7 years. However, under new development, the server has seen substantial upgrades, including a move to better hardware. It now runs smoothly even with 16 players online. Some details about the server: Map Rotation: After each victory, the server switches to a new map. Realism Settings: External views and labels are disabled. On the F10 map, you only see your position and objectives. JTAC functions within a fog of war scenario. Challenging Objectives: Targets are heavily defended (e.g., S-300s at airfields, Roland systems, Tunguskas), so knowing your aircraft and its capabilities is crucial. High-Performance Hosting: The server is hosted in Poland on a 900/900 fiber optic connection for optimal performance. Simple, Accessible Gameplay: No overly complicated mechanics—just straightforward, engaging scenarios. Campaign info: Win conditions: enemy has got 2 objectives left. Life system, to prevent doing solo kamikadze runs, you get 5 lives. If you loose all of them, they reset in 4 hours, counting down from your first takeoff. Antenna objectives, which allows to place wild SAMs. To capture objectives, bring a CTLD crate, and unpack it. Syria mission is themed to be 1990s, most SAHRs are removed, no advanced weapons. Kaukasus mission is cold war. Scripts used in the game: CTLD - all helicopters have the option to do simulated sling loading of SAM, artillery, JTAC, and other crates. EWR script - if your team has deployed a EWR, you will get messages about any threats in the air. CSAR - rescue ejected enemy and friendly pilots, to give them their live back, and also to get some cash. AI planes - enemy AI planes spawn when you attack a objective. Convoys - when near friendly objective, send a SAM, groundcrew, or armored convoy to support it. Convoys cost money, depending on convoy type. Support aircraft: AWACS and tankers. Call them anytime, they last until server restart, they also cost you cash. The server is still under active development, feedback and bug reports are much appreciated! Thank you, and see you in skies of DCS Discord: https://discord.gg/EGV7VFuceY DCS IP: dcs.legitscoper.net Server websites*: https://tso.legitscoper.net/ and https://tko.legitscoper.net/ Look for "TSO", or "TKO" in the server browser *Server has 2 websites, but only 1 shows the correct real-time data, the one of the current campaings. If Syria is played, then Syria website is the correct to check. But the long-term statistics work just fine on both.

Been away from DCS for many years but recently got back into it a bit. Been learning (relearning?) the A-10C and was trying to get the ILS system to work while loading up the "landing" and "night landing" instant action scenarios. Both are set at Kobuleti. Tried many times without getting the ILS, supposedly at freq. 111.50MHz, to work (TACAN is working though). After looking up a few online guides I noticed they do the exact same procedure, but in their screenshots/videos the ILS was working as expected. They were not using Kobuleti though. I thought this was suspicious so I set up a similar scenario at Batumi using the mission editor, and I instantly got the ILS working.
