Thanks, you're having the exact same symptoms. I guess it's the same for all affected users. This thread helped me notice how good the F1 engine sounds are ingame (for those who don't have the bug, of course ). Aerges did a hell of a job! To all: No need to send your sound logs anymore. Devs have everything they need, now.5 points

11 03 page 11 paragraph 88 This response will contain directions to paragraphs, but no extracts from said paragraphs, from a document that cannot be posted under the forums rules. I shall PM the extracts in accompaniment. Please refer to: A1-F18AC-742-100 011 03 page 3 paragraph 18 - For description of what an MSI trackfile is A1-F18AC-742-100 011 03 page 11 paragraph 88 - For description of what happens when you use the cursor on one of these MSI trackfiles. The handling of MSI trackfiles as Harker describes is explicitly laid out in these paragraphs, thankfully leaving no room for confusion on this matter. It can be said confidently that all trackfiles can be designated as L&S, DT2 or be the target of an STT command, using all normally available means (acquisition cursor, undesignate, etc).4 points

SU-57 EFM Build 03 is Here! SU-57 EFM Thrust Vectoring is Finally Here (WIP). What's included in build 03: #1 AL41 Engines: Acceleration updated; Super cruise Added, Response time Added from 0% to full mil power. #2 FM: Low speed and High speed CFD Studies added on each control surface, Such as Lev cons, these are noted without the use of TVC. #3 Lights: Added Two Stages for Navigation and Taxy Lights. #4 Nozzles Animation: Updated movement and rotation of the TVC Nozzles to form a V (More will come and fixed). #5 Thrust Vectoring key binds: ( F ) : Triggers Stage 1 Thrust Vectoring, mostly more affective during extremely low speeds where Stall is imminent. ( B) : Triggers Stage 2 Thrust Vectoring, mostly affective during High speeds, meant to Force Drag and Slow you down Quick and Also gives you the ability to pull harder. TVC Notes: Stage 1 and 2 can be used together, Stage 1 Triggers Pitch, Roll and Yaw while Stage 2 triggers only Pitch Axis. BUGs: TVC and Fm Known to Produce Extra Momentum, the aircraft will accelerate on its own while banking or coming out of a tvc maneuver (Will be Fixed). updating just for updating’s sake is kind of absurd .. dcs has not changed its basic way of working since at least 2019, why would need you an updated utility?4 points

Quick update: It works now! On a hunch, I completely uninstalled vJoy and removed the virtual joysticks it had created. I restarted Windows just to be sure it was truly dead. And now, force trim works for both Hueys and Apaches! Hooray!3 points

Unfortunately this whole program is a part time gig. Within ED, they have larger (mil/gov) contracts that take priority over the commercial side. So DCS gets attention as it's available. Regular, but not non-stop. Same with most 3rd party devs. They either do the work in conjunction with their normal job, or after hours/weekends. It's not ideal for the consumer, as we expect the bugs to be fixed ASAP and progress. But it's just not a high paying, continuous job. They upfront the dev costs, hoping for sales to repay that.3 points

It's fine if the FM is not "competitive" with newer planes, it's fine if it's hard to learn and use, it's not fine if it's completely scripted. Currently, the plane departs in an extremely consistent but strange manner at extremely consistent conditions. It feels not like a real stall (you barely lose g-forces), it feels more like someone is manipulating my control inputs. This ^ here explains a lot, which I didn't know because I had a long break. I agree. I think being able to pilot a plane and being able to correctly model a planes behaviour are very very different things, one requires a good "feeling", practice and coordination, the other one requires deep theoretical knowledge of aerodynamics, math and programming. I would not automatically assume that someone who flew the plane will be great at writing a simulation of the plane. Also I don't know details about Rudels flight experience, but I can only assume that IRL these high AoA and stall regimes are really really scary and dangerous. I don't want any real pilot to endanger themselves and die without being able to respawn. But at the same time, this means that those regimes can not be explored with physical measurements and personal experience, but it needs to be simulated and calculated. And if I'm wrong about my assumption, I would really love to see a video of this sort of consistent departures IRL: "oops, I went .1° over exactly 16° AoA and now it will roll right for .5 seconds, then yaw left for .5 seconds, then reverse roll/yaw". This is the main point here. OK, back in 2014 it was all new, first 3rd part developer, everything was difficult, it was groundbreaking, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and some of us invested into the promises ("early access" is just promises, not more). It all made sense back then, but only under the assumption that it would improve. But now 8 years have passed, and many things are unchanged. And that's when some emotional people like me slowly but surely start to get salty. I like this plane a lot, and I wish the module would do it justice.3 points

The writing style of combat manuals has not changed much over the centuries, it seems. "Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. "3 points

Just two posts above yours, you have the author explaining (supporting) a user of the software and also mentioning his effort towards a rewrite of it. I use Skatezilla's software everytime I use DCS and it's working fine even if it's more than 400 days without update3 points

A C would still be good for the late Cold War (though the A is probably more appropriate). Personally, it would be better to start with an A and then perhaps offer the C as an upgrade pack further down the line, like the A-10C.3 points

What about a P-3 Orion as a BLUFOR counterpart to the Tu-142 that we have? P-3s used to be based out of Andøya Air Station, so we'll have a base for it on the map (same goes for the -142 on Severomorsk-1). My personal preference would be a mid 80s, USN, P-3C Update II. It's almost entirely dedicated to ASW (the Tu-142 is entirely dedicated to ASW IRL AFAIK), but it does at least carry a surface-search radar and the AGM-84 Harpoon. If you wanted to be accurate to Norway and the aircraft actually based at Andøya is the P-3B, though I'm less certain that it carries the Harpoon (Norway did use the P-3C, but that's more at the very end of the Cold War).3 points

Unfortunately, on my rig, AH-64D has slowest performance of all modules fixed wing or rotary. With given graphics settings being HP Z440 Xeon E5-1630v4 3.7-4.0 Ghz, 64gb ram ECC 2666 , PNY RTX 3060ti XLR8 LHR, SSD. 2560X1440 @144Hz Just noticed new setting 'Secondary shadows'. Not certain how it effects performance. Average FPS is above 48 FPS from pilot cockpit, at times climbing above 90, but sometimes dropping to 37 . Slowest map is Syria. Fastest is PG, then Nevada. FPS climbs by 30% for external views of AH-64D. CPG seat is slightly slower then pilot. On same mission with same settings. Gazelle is 120 FPS avg. Mirage2000-C 120-140, AV-8B 90-120, UH-1H 125 FPS, F/A-18C 75-95 FPS. Overall Mirage and Harrier are fastest performing modules , on my system. DCS settings attached2 points

Yes, all 3 of them; F-15A from 1975, F-15C from 1979 and F-15C MSIP II from 1985 are pure Cold War machines. Su-27S entered service 1985 exactly like F-15C MSIP II. After the Cold War F-15C still received modernisation far later on, but it was slow due to lack of priority and lack of need for specialized air superiority fighter at all in a world of US military dominance. But yes, F-15A from mid 1970s would be great, it had the best low speed maneuverability and nose authority and awesome acceleration with lighter airframe, but tempremental engines to tame. In 1970s, just like F-14A, it was considered superfighter. It had much simpler radar avionics and it relied more on a classic air combat, being great for mid Cold War 1970s scenarios. It would be fantastic if someone would make F-15 like DCS F-14 equivalent - with A, C and C MSIP II versions.2 points

Compatible with Virpil, Thrustmaster Warthog, Cougar bases. Made to look and work like the original in the MI-8/MI-24. But more practical. https://www.printables.com/social/148117-joker_g/collections/2163732 points

Yes. Redkite has a nice video of it. And Bailey have made calculator, which is even better IMHO. At least it made me want understand what's going on. So it's easier to make the curve better. That said. I send all my love to Aerges, for doing the sensible thing, even with the first patch!2 points

Oh, i think I get what you mean. To answer the last part, yes. I believe that is already displayed in some of the tutorial videos that Notso has already done. Or someone has done. There has been rear seat displays shown at some point.2 points

Absolutely. It's not just a "slightly faster MiG-15bis." It's insanely fast. Turns better than most modern day jets, and is a ton of fun to fly. The FM's also been fixed so don't listen to what negative people say about the module. They most likely haven't flown it in years or have no interest in REDFOR modules. I just hope they work on the MiG-19S they promised us.2 points

One key point the OP might be wondering about is that you should do this (CMS aft) before entering the threat zone, when you are not currently locked up by an enemy. In CMDS Semi mode, CMS aft has a dual function* -- set jamming to active AND dispense countermeasures for the current high priority threat. So if you want to just set the jammer to active without dispensing, you either need to make sure you are not currently locked, or turn off your chaff and flare switches momentarily. *In CMDS Semi mode, CMS aft provides instantaneous consent to dispense once against the current threat. In CMDS Auto mode, CMS aft provides prior consent to dispense indefinitely against future threats.2 points

Angle of surface and surface type might be too high-fidelity and complex to worry about because it concerns more of a finer detail than it does basic logical function. It matters only a little and you'd probably not enough difference for it to ruin the experience. What's far more important is whether or not the target is within the section of picture where the latter portion of the range bin dips below the surface. No matter what, if a target on the deck is approaching you, it should have some rare chance of showing through the noise just via doppler, then 100% chance of showing through when it rests within picture where the range bin is above ground. This of course happens more often the higher a target is, but there will not be any noise at all in some lookdown cases because it is filtered out by time. The range bin simply ignores anything that comes back too late. It may be impossible to lock them if they are far, slow, and low enough, but there should still be occasional hits with luck and it's what TWS prediction was created for. Not ever having anything show up at all makes a massive difference in combat tactics and this lookdown penalty just erases all possibility of that. The same can be said for lookup against side lobe interference. It's just overtuned and always interfering without any consideration for all the filtering techniques and randomness associated with how a radar paints a picture and determines if something is there.2 points

That's because that was the SFM build and for fun , This one is EFM , totally different no super powers here. I am not a texturing artist, that is my weakest skill and I also don't have enough cockpit pictures to reference by, this aircraft is totally classified, it's ment as a learning tool, I just chosed to share it with the DCS community and follow the updates.2 points

And the TF-51D is their demo for full DCS modules. At least the most obvious bugs should be fixed as soon as possible. A desync with an axis is not that important (even if it bothers me, but beginners rarely use axes for flaps), but non-functional keybindings and desync of instruments/levers/switches with keys pressed should not happen.2 points
-
Ok, it's not completely broken it just doesn't simulate how the APG-73 in the hornet works.2 points
-
An F-16 would absolutly jump the chocks in Full AB, regardless of model. It is however a massive waste of the developers time working on something like this when there are a million other more useful systems they could be working on. IMHO2 points
