  3. Those will actually be included with the ANG Livery Pack, along with the 194th FS! I have also fixed all potential conflicts with the F-15C Golden Eagle mod, so you can have both of them installed and working at the same time!

  4. I've got a big announcement to make! We have new liveries for the F-15EX, by Vasy! I plan to include three of them in the mod itself, the rest will be available as a separate download in a livery pack! We have the F-15EX Production Line Green, and the two F-15EX prototype liveries 001 and 002!

  5. Does it only happen when you do a cold start? Then recheck the startup procedure, especially the part about FCS reset and the take-off trim button.

  6. Yes. But a little common sense here. A pre-flight walkaround of the aircraft is a correct procedure. But its not practical in a desktop sim. Though I badly emulate it using F2 exterior view just to look A/C over. Same goes for 'Red Tag' sale. When ground crews remove arming flags from weapons and show it to pilot prior to taxi or engine start. I am certain that DCS players would appreciate that detail. As they would seeing ground crew scuring around their aircraft when prompted for re-arm re-fuel. As would many appreciate being told by ATC which parking spor to taxi to , and seeing ground crew plane captain directing them . All those are correct procedures, but they are not critical to realism of the sim. Making the boresight center process semi-automatic would not detract from realism of the sim. For those users who choose not use a VR set or TrackIR. A Special Option of 'Automatic Boresight Center' would be good enough. Well thats my view. Thank you.

  7. Stay tuned for further improvements in the Multi-threaded version. The wait will be worth it.

  8. The Eclair-M with proper SPIRALE integration. Before this additional decoys were loaded in a cheap DIY dispenser with an additional box in cockpit not integrated with the CM suite. The old box isn't anymore in the DCS model but it's still possible to restrict loadout to remove the Eclair-M in the mission editor.

  9. The procedure is correct, but it's aggravating. It's significantly easier in the real aircraft. A user option wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

  10. If you enjoy @Admiral189's work at all, I strongly encourage you to toss him a few coins so he can keep producing this high-quality content: https://ko-fi.com/admiral189 If each person tosses in a few dollars, it could mean hundreds of dollars worth of models & work produced for the benefit of all. Thanks again for the strong work with the Sovremenny -- looking forward to what's coming!

All doors and cargo bay now use arg 38 to open. The bounce continues! Model lowered in max and raised in code. Not quite there yet. But close!

  12. To be honest, it’s my least favorite feature. If ever there were a special option that needed to be added, it’s “don’t require IHADSS boresight during cold start”. It should honestly be an optional user preference item. Or at a minimum the default position of the pilots head should be at the design eye position so no adjustment by the player should be required. Yes, it’s a thing in the real helicopter, and yes I even have track ir, but its genuinely annoying in game vs the real helicopter.

  13. I hope that you used the standard British way of cockpit ergonomics, i.e. put all the buttons, switches and dials in a box, throw in a hand grenade and see where they go.

  14. Yes we can, because they're on the same level. This myth that FC3 FMs are somehow worse needs to die - FC3 FMs were brought well up to snuff years ago.

  15. Dear Eagle Dynamics, After reading about MIDI, I learned that it is integrated into the Windows Operating System, and there is a very extensive documentation available on the Microsoft website, and many other places on the internet on how to implement the data received from MIDI devices into an application. It's funny to think that all the joysticks were once actually MIDI controllers, and now we are coming back around to find them maybe useful being as MIDI devices once again. The advantages of a MIDI device over a joystick: - a MIDI can have thousands of buttons, or hundreds of sliders, and rotaries - very easy to buy anywhere, in any place on the planet - very cheap when compared to joystick companies - you can buy used ones for any taste and likeness anywhere - building home-made cockpits is much easier, and straightforward Any MIDI device is working in a very simple, and always the same way: Buttons: - every control\button\rotary has 128 positions (0-127) - pressing a button will send a pulse, two unique codes (addresses) - one address says it's pressed DOWN, other that it is RELEASED - holding a button will send the pressed DOWN unique address only to anyone interested in it - releasing the button will then send the "this button has been RELEASED" unique code Rotaries: - rotaries also have 128 positions - as you rotate it, it will quickly send a range of unique addresses - to create a rotary you have to combine these addresses into a group in your application. In DCS you can call it Rotary1. When someone's rotating it, the DCS would register the Rotary1, and bind it to the axis. - all the addresses are the same between all the MIDI control surfaces meaning that a rotary on Roland, or a rotary on Yamaha will be registered as the same rotary by Windows. All you need to do is to tell DCS to capture the MIDI signals and it's really easy because it's already in the Windows since forever, and no additional files, or drivers needed; and then teach DCS what range of addresses is a slider, a rotary, a button etc. Or, you could tell DCS to wait for the player to use a slider on their midi controller, and then offer them to choose, if they want to use that as a slider, rotary, or a button. The reason why MIDI would be so incredibly valuable for us is because you can easily purchase a MIDI controller for very cheap, and they offer millions of combinations - rotaries, sliders, buttons - anything you wish. That would be such an amazing thing for the DCS communtity! I hope it could be implemented! Warm Regards, H-var

  16. Great Campaign Reflected! Glad to see more dialog in this one! Good mixture of missions. At first I was cursing you with not being able to turn the symbols on (flying in VR) but then I went with the flow and relied a bit on my crew members great vision and looking for muzzle flashes. Keep up the great work!

  18. You are correct, the SA19 is optically guided. To my knowledge no countermeasures have an effect. Violent evasive maneuvers to overwhelm guidance and steering are the way to do it. There's a reason the Tunguska is so deadly. I freakin' hate those things. Get out of it's max range (4nm) and/or get above its max altitude of 16k feet.

  21. Yes. For example when you see a lower HAFU Link-4 contact out in front of you, but there's no upper HAFU indicating that the AWG-9 sees it, you can note it's approximate altitude represented by the single digit number connected to the HAFU, and you can approximate it's distance by comparing it to the 20nm dashed lines of the scan limits. Then you can tell Jester exactly where to look by saying something like, "Scan sector angels 10 at 30" for example, and Jester will adjust the antenna elevation to be centered on that spot. The upper half of the HAFU should come right up as long as it's not notching. It's much better than trying to guess the radar elevation by using the generic elevation commands like "Scan elevation low", which might scan lower than you want or not low enough.

  22. I've watched the ATAC Mirage F1s many times, during their takeoff. The afterburner starts out as a small orange flicker as the ignitor ring begins to come in contact with the fuel. The flame grows to fill the exhaust and then fully cones out the tail. On the DCS version, it's just all ON or OFF. There is no ignition delay. I found this yesterday when calibrating my AB percentage in the settings.

  25. The thoughts of that really being a thing is likely vastly overblown. Ref same pod cast above. Pilots still have IRL problems coming off the boom. Probably one of the best DCS procedures is to not still in the same pos the boom first hooks up at. Move fwd and pad the room you have before you get too far away and disconnect. There is room to guve yourself a better range for error.

  26. I know that the pace is slow but I will cut them some slack for now on this, even though IIRC they still have a 'team' of 1 or 2 people working full time on it they are now at the end of the roadmap and up against the more complex items, mainly the DTC, a system which I don't think has any precedent in the game. At the same time I would find it hard to accept the Viper moving out of EA without a working PFLD, the associated failures and the ability to trigger those things on clients in MP. The fact that failures aren't even on the roadmap despite being a standard item is very concerning. The same can also be said for the ALE-50, a key component of the viper (especially our block 50). Moving it out of EA without the towed decoy would be like moving the F-14 out of EA without phoenixes. I am very worried that its absence from the EA feature list is evidence that they have no intention of giving it to us for many, many years.

  27. The effect of dragging the aircraft with the boom is not implemented in DCS but the boom does allow you for some movements in every direction, just stay within the limits (read: practice more).

  28. I think the main issue is these obsolete specs are listed as "recommended" for high gfx preset and VR. Everywhere else In normal gaming world the "recommended requirements" phrase means hardware capable of running the game with all bells and whistles cranked up to 11 (or 9 at least), for these customers who can afford such hardware. I don't think even the most radical DCS fanboyz can say with a straight face that an i5 + GTX 1080 combo fits that description. Multithreading at its current phase doesn't change that and comes with its own issues anyway (I, for example, after initial MT honeymoon period and dealing with increased stuttering on my good old i7 9700k, switched back to ST for simply much smoother rendering all around. Extra framerate in MT was just not worth it when paired with choppiness). It's all moot anyway. As mentioned, free DCSW plus free module trials (the best idea ED had in recent years) should be enough for any newcomer to check out how his hardware really performs in 2.8.

  29. I just set it up this morning @dburne thank you. I read in another thread you recommending it. Very easy to setup. I tested both IL-2 and DCS using CapFrame and it confirms what I felt that it is smooth. It reports I’m getting an average of 75 FPS. I’m very happy with that.

  34. Have you tried without the mod? Even the most unrelated mods can cause random issues. If we eliminate that as the cause I'll have to ask ED to look at the crash logs.

  36. Happy Birthday DCS World & ED! Having my Lock On and Lock On Flaming Cliffs boxes right here beside me all the years, I only regret missing some of the first years of DCS Word. Thank you for an amazing job, not only dealing with every new hardware/software challenge but also with the gusty wind here in the forums from time to time. You've allways made the best of all this! "Thank you for the last 15 years. You made our dreams come true!" - Eagle Dynamics "dito" - me (Made you a little present for your anniversary by buying a module of yours with 60% discount that I have avoided so far, but I'm sure this will turn out to be a nice present for myself )

  38. There's a glitch with INU degradation/coordinates in multiplayer versus single player. If you have access to the info bar, check it and compare the TSD PP readout to see if there's any offset, as usually there is a large one in multiplayer even when fully aligned.

  42. Fwiw: although I'm not sure about the gtx1080, my system is running DCS in VR on a 1080ti and it's still very much enjoyable. I not even have to set all gfx to low. Sure, upgrading would make everything better/nicer, but it's definitely still very well playable in VR on my old system. All just a matter of managing your expectations
