So far, all summer textures have been replaced with more refined images. The textures are now being generated using custom scripts that use multiple sources, including satellite imagery as well as aerial photography. Furthermore, the upcoming update includes the EFKS Kuusamo Airport and the EFIV Ivalo Airport with various towns and cities added around the new airfields. The colours at XLMV Severomorsk-3 Naval Air Base, UMOE Monchegorsk and ULAK Severomorsk-1 have also been updated. ESNJ Jokkmokk has been reworked too. Instant Action Generator Development Progress We are currently working on a new Instant Action Generator (IAG) that will replace the existing Fast Mission Generator. The IAG is designed to be user-friendly and allow you to easily and quickly set up simple air-to-air and air-to-ground missions without having to use the Mission Editor. The primary objective of the IAG is to allow more mission content in an easy-to-use interface. Missions can range from simple dogfights, to bomber escorts, to close air support missions, and much more. The IAG allows you to choose your aircraft, map, and mission type, hostile forces, and then tune the mission generation with more detailed variables. Thrust Vectoring are as follow, F Triggers TVC stage1 and B triggers Stage2 Radar is on by default while in Ramp Hot Start and While spawn in Air but off in cold ramp start. Avionics page need to be turn on and off thru the Avionics and battery dial Knobs while Spawning in Air, Radar is controlled similar to fc3 radars aside from hitting the key U to lock.

  7. It's your hardware dude. A laptop RTX 2070 is not the same as a desktop RTX2070. Laptop GPUs are in general vastly underpowered compared to desktop GPUs. You also have a 9th Gen CPU (which is also under powered compared to desktop CPUs), your RAM is probably also slower (even though you have a good amount). NVMe drives are also faster than SSDs. DCS is a demanding Sim and you basically meet the bare minimum specs for VR. Ditch the laptop and build a new Gaming PC (desktop) my friend.

Going back to ST isn't the solution, If users have an issue with MT performance, logs and data are needed to pinpoint the issue, Falling back to ST is not going to fix the issue, plus falling back to ST is likely not even a valid solution and more of a placebo. as most of the new under the hood systems are coded for MT, falling back to ST disables a mess of under the hood things, so the increase is FPS or removal of latency is likely a result of a lot of things being disabled due to requiring MT binaries. So in the end, your trading the FPS/Latency for disabled systems and a bunch of missing under the hood instructions, likely causing stability issues.

  11. Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree whenever I fly the F-4 outside of the campaign, I miss the procedures, so I just go through them in my head As for the AI, unfortunately its collision and terrain avoidance capabilities leave a lot to be desired, I've been bombarding ED with tracks, but no fix thus far. ( @[ED]Ben ) Fortunately I built the missions in a way that they don't get stuck if one or more of the AI crashes into the desert.

  14. Happy Friday everyone. It's the weekend. Thanks, HawaiianRyan, I just looked at the website I use to convert the Missile files. The website clearly says Meters per second. Not sure where I got milliseconds from. SMH. With that said all the missile files are set as meters per second. Flag02004 can you send me your reference material? Is that the latest ED Missiles parameters? I will try to search for it as well. Thanks.

  15. Hi! I've blew the dust off the code and server. What is a good thing is that code did not change at all since couple years back, but looks like it is still works on current DCS version and just server update was enough. Stats are saved because they are in separate database. Now what maybe is not really exciting thing is that our team is now mostly only one man and my time situation did not change. Maybe I will find some time for remembering and parsing code other members did in past to catch up with it and maybe improve but I can't say now anything at all about the future. I hope to add CH-47 to the system though soon. I see there are more than 10 PMs in the box, sorry for not responding. I know some of you would like to help maybe but because of some complicated stuff/situation which I can't really explain I can't just onboard people seamlessly. I hope I will find time to evaluate options in future. Sorry for being passive but it is what it is.

  19. Instant mission generator may prove to be really importand addition. Months ago Kola map didn't look much better than Caucassus - but it looks way, way better now, flying Viggens through this detailed valleys is going to be a joy. Thanks for your work!

  22. So if we use 2.8 dot system the 4k users cant see them . But if we use 2.9 dot system VR users cant see them . lol . I have SIX different flight sims on my PC . DCS is the worst for spotting in VR for me . . on TV 1440p i can see all and the dots are quite good even at 4k resolution. But my headset I cant see anything now but this is only in DCS not any other flight sims I have . Even with air contact against blue sky its very difficult too see .

  27. Two things irritate me about DCS so much that I created an account on this mutual admiration forum. Disappearing dots, no matter what size they will ultimately be. They are not to disappear for external reasons. Stupid AI flying on rails with a simplified flight model. 2 little things that are core to me. Everything else is outstanding or acceptable. ps. I have been giving feedback since April, I record videos and explain how to cause the problem. in return he gets moving grass and trees just a little joke.

  29. Hi I have replied to other threads on the same subject, the team have some optimisations planned but we have to wait for free dev time, currently they are busy with other tasks. I have highlighted the user scripts being used for textures optimisations and they are aware its a pressing matter, but I am unable to give any ETA currently on the work. As soon as there has been some progress made we will add it to a future change log. thank you

F-16 also missing some functionality for SP gameplay, which were back in the day a standard part of the other modules. - A-10C which I believe is the best overall product which ED delivered, was not only delivered with almost no bugs, better simulated systems and more depth. It also got AI jtac modeled for it and it actually worked really well (for an AI jtac). Your A-10 AI wingman was given some functionalities to make it more useful, commands for weapon selection and attack direction to name a few, datalink which also worked with the jtac etc.. F-16 AI wing is bare bones, completely useless, you can't even tell him a specific ground target to attack let alone direction or weapon. - Ka-50 which is the second best after A-10 imho, also had some interresting AI functionalities which other helicopters does not. Like AI reckon and DL you targets, or sending AI to attack a specific target from a specific location using the DL sent to him and so on.. Those were actually kind a working if used correctly and were part of the package delivered with the modules, with the addition of some good default free campaings as well. ED completely threw that out the window and almost any module released afterwards was just 'lonely' and mostly only usable in MP or with heavy scripting from mission designers.

  33. Just some random thoughts I wanted to share about the F-4E module in general and specifically the MiG Killers campaign. Just recently switched from a Logitech X56 to the Thrustmaster Viper stick. What a difference. The higher stick force and heftier stick makes it really pheel like I'm phlying a Phantom! There is a much bigger difference when you turn roll aug off, the jet feels twitchy with it off and I didn't get that with the other stick. Easier to maneuver and fly formation too. I'm sold on it. After about 3 weeks of flying the MiG Killers campaign exclusively, I went and re-flew some of the other missions that came with the module. I found I really miss the interactive checklist, extra comm from Jester, comm from the bandits and flight lead etc. Felt awkward to fly without all of the challenge and response checklists. One thing they taught us in formation school was "never turn into the echelon". If, for example, you're in echelon right formation, like you are coming back from the range on Event 9, you don't turn right unless you absolutely need to and then do so very gently. I was thinking about this as we turned (right!) onto initial and lead and two smacked into each other, crashing both of them. Art imitates life? There were two times where if I were really in that first TopGun class I would have been responsible for shutting the program down. First was the 2 v 1 sortie where I flew myself and Jester into the ground. With the emphasis on safety they definitely would have shut us down. Second was on Event 11 "HAVE DRILL" where the bandit flew into the ground. They'd cancel the program for sure after that! Any other random thoughts folks had flying the campaign? I absolutely love it!

  37. The script does not do any backing up, it creates a copy of the files to replace in a directory separate from the source files. You need a mod manager to look after the backing up and restoring of original files. Zyll @ TAW

  38. Fantastic news on the Kola map. I've been using the winter textures as they look much better in the low detailed areas than the summer stuff. So I'm looking forward to using the summer terrain again.

Yes - you have to add these lines or a combination of these lines to the liveries description lua - if you dont want a line add -- to the start of the line, or just delete it. -- [38] = 0.9, -- canopy open ......... as an example There are many more lines you can add, everything from spoilers to wheels up/down - you identify the lines by putting the edm into model viwer and running the animation - its that simple. Get the number right - 1.0 usually means it's fully open but on some lines ti can also mean the item is removed - so 0.9 would be open, but 1.0 would be removed, and you can adjust how much something is open by changing the number - o.5 might be half open.   40. It would indeed be a nice gimmick, and we know that the infrastructure is in place: you can walk around and be seen by other players if you control a MANPAD soldier in Combined Arms. So walking around the airfield should not be that difficult to implement. A peculiarity of DCS is that it currently does not show unoccupied/uncontrolled player aircraft, so entering other uncontrolled aircraft would require a fundamental (albeit not difficult) change in DCS. Although it would, I'd be hesitant to mention this. If you are the evacuee in such a mission, your mission profile would be sitting around and waiting to be picked up for 45 minutes, get in, then sit and wait to be flown back to base for the next 30 minutes. Few people would find that fun and willing to do. But yeah, it would enable that feature.

  41. Das kommt auf das Gewicht und die Form der Verlängerung und des Grips an. Meine ist ja nach hinten gebogen. Also habe ich die Halterung (8mm Gewindestange) des Counterweight entsprechend nach vorn gekröpft und so lange mit dem Gewicht experimentiert, bis der Stick in jeder Position von alleine stehen bleibt. Und nein, der Boden fällt nicht komplett weg. Es gibt am Boden eine kreisförmige Sicke. Es reicht, wenn man die ausschneidet, das entstehende Loch ist für das Counterweight groß genug. @Ganesh mach ich, muss nur die Zeit finden. Vielleicht kann man es hier schon etwas erahnen.

  42. Коллеги, а нельзя ли сделать динамические грузы сразу включенными ? Или какой то генератор складов. Чтоб не сидеть и не рыться там в миссий. А просто , максимум кнопочку генерации нажал и все! Заходи и грузись на любом аэродроме. А еще было бы здорово, если бы разные грузы "спавнились" в по разному на разных аэродромах. Чтобы можно было летать с аэродрома на аэродром и искать нужный груз. Или например какая то система запросов/заказов на конкретный груз который надо доставить куда то и задача найти его на каком то складе и привезти. Причем не прост так а по бартеру, то есть чтобы забрать получить конкретный груз, нужно привезти что то взамен, в нужном количестве. А используя систему сохранений, можно вообще одну совершенно рандомную, созданную пустую миссию, превратить в целую кампанию по перевозке грузов. Если в ней уже, по умолчанию будут заложены необходимые динамические механизмы. В идеале конечно хотелось бы чтобы, подобно прокладке маршрута перед запуском миссии, можно было бы также сменить погоду и время . Тогда можно было бы просто загружаясь из сохранений, по сути, меняя погоду и время создавать новую миссию и данными из прошлого вылета. А еще трафик и все! вот тебе и уникальный открытый мир ДКС созданный на в несколько кликов.

  44. Hello! I see that there have been multiple pings sent to @BIGNEWY and @NineLine. Could either of you kindly please provide a response or alert the dev team? There are some VERY good points in this thread regarding VRAM usage and optimization. Also, I find it sad that the end user has to compress the textures down with a powershell script to get any reasonable performance back while simultaneously breaking integrity check. We shouldn’t have to do the developer’s job for them.

  46. Hopefully this gets adressed in the next patch. ATC is rudimentary, yes, but requesting vectors is helpful, and reporting "Inbound" and ATC then activating the runway lights is really nice to have in a night mission! BTW, a new ATC system had been considered (promised?) years ago. What's the status on that? How about news on that in the Friday newsletter?

  47. Don’t waste money on the 7950X. The 7800X3D is the perfect gaming cpu and actually outperforms the 7950 in most games. (Sorry, I don’t think I even need to mention how I feel about current gen Intel CPUs. Don’t screw yourself over)
