Have fun! Cheers! Bell47 Cold Start Procedure 1. Power Selector Switch for battery (B) or ground power (LCTRL+B). 2. Hold Starter Switch (Home) until RPM is above 13%. 3. Push Thottle Idle cutoff (End) to allow fuel flow to start and continue holding Starter Switch until RPM reaches 58+%. 4. Turn on Generator and Inverter Switches or the battery will not charge. 5. Increase RPM to 100% by turning throttle (Page Up) or down (PageDown). 6. Do not keep RPM above 105% for prolonged periods, this will cause engine overheating. N: Toggle Night Vision Goggles LALT+L: Flashlight 1: Pilot Seat 2: Copilot Seat Gunner is NOT selectable. THE BELL47 CANNOT LAND ON WATER. The Floats are for display only. To fire using the gunner, you must click the "Cleared To Fire" switch. Gunner will fire where the pilot is looking (within his arc of fire).
  2. Hello, the last couple of weeks ive flowen the UH 1 a lot... and i noticed that the graphics are not up to date and the crew could be substantially overhauled. I thought about crew coms when the door gunner pick something up etc... And i still want to see the flechette rockets with the orange smoke when they explode. The Uh1 would definitely benefit from new Graphics Lightning and shadows... Hope this catches EDs eyes and they work on that... Thanks
  3. LOCALISATION: TEXTS ARE IN : ENGLISH, FRENCH OR GERMAN VOICE OVERS: CURRENTLY ALL IN ENGLISH DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE HANDBOOK AND MISSION DESCRIPTION https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338049/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338050/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338052/ WORLDS APART UH-1 Caucasus CAMPAIGN – STORMFRONT STORMFRONT is a story-driven campaign that follows the story of SPRING 2025. As in the first part of the WORLDS APART series, you find yourself in the role of a German Bell UH-1 helicopter pilot serving in the squadron "WOLF PACK," a German Army unit (Heeres Flieger). The Huey is still in service, not least because of its proven capabilities and reliability under challenging conditions. You are part of a crew of four: your commanding officer, Peter Berger, and the two gunners, Hans and Tom. FEATURES As in SPRING 2025, you will fly with others in the squadron, but you will be on your own in most missions. Combined missions with air and ground forces and naval units from different countries provide variety in an otherwise routine life. You'll conduct both unarmed transport and armed patrol and combat missions by day and night. Occasionally, circumstances require you to perform a task regardless of the weather conditions. GENERAL SITUATION Toward the middle of the year, the security situation in the world continued to deteriorate. The three superpowers continue to negotiate with each other but remain on an aggressive course. Although you and your colleagues achieved great success at the beginning of the year, and the situation has calmed down, especially in the south of Georgia around Batumi, the overall condition remains tense. Different countries have their fingers in the pie, and Western NGOs keep independence efforts alive. Economic interests and the desire to secure natural resources have not changed either. Thus, the Black Sea region continues to be a focus of tension and a constant threat to peace in the EMEA region. The overall situation remains very complex and complicated. The rebels within the Georgian army, who are fighting the moderate central government and seeking a violent reunification with the former Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, are weakened but not defeated. In the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, some armed forces of the regional neighbors support the Georgian population in their efforts to create a united Georgia. Far-right fascist groups are fighting Russian troops in Abkhazia. Under the auspices of the United Nations, many countries are deploying forces to separate the various competing armed groups. Parts of the German Armed Forces are entrusted with securing the southern part of Georgia and supporting the government forces in their fight to maintain peace and security in the region. In the process, the area of operations is increasingly shifting from Batumi to the north, and the squadron will probably be moved to Kobuleti in the future. YOUR ROLE You and your crew have returned to Batumi after your experiences in the spring. The situation is calm, and patrol flights are the central part of your program. Surveillance and presence. Your task is to support Georgian and German ground forces in securing the Batumi region before being deployed to Kutaisi in the north. Within your unit, callsign "WOLF PACK," you have the supporting part. You fly lightly armed patrols and transport troops and material. Until further notice, your squadron will remain stationed in the Batumi region and the local airfield. Introduction The missions build on each other, and the story evolves from mission to mission. You get all relevant and available information before each flight in the form of March Orders. The kneeboard also includes March orders, flight planning, navigation logs, airport maps, detailed maps, and satellite images. You have direct access during the flight by flipping back through the kneeboard folder. Unexpected things happen regularly, every day. Any additional information you get from other crew members over the radio. Just follow your commander's instructions because he keeps track of things. Information about unexpected things can be found under "Top Secret" on your kneeboard. It is not easy, but we rely on you to do your best to keep the peace. Good luck and always happy landings.
  4. EUROPEAN BASED - 13th CAB - Combat Aviation Brigade Part of CJTF-13 Joint Task Force Recruiting AH-64D and OH-58D Pilots and CPGs We follow real-life procedures as closely as possible, we use strict radio communications, and train HARD to get to a high level of virtual flying! This type of flight simming is not for everyone, because it requires a certain mindset, time commitment, and motivation to do it right - like holding a stationary hover, applying tactics, and radio communications. If you are looking for short, action-packed missions that are all about killing tanks and risking the helicopter, 13th CAB is NOT the place for you. the 13th CAB is THE PLACE TO BE if: - You are looking for realistic, in-depth planned events that include fighter jets. - You are willing to train in parade and tactical formations. - You are prepared to train the basics like hovering and radio comms to the extent that they become muscle memory and automatisms. - You can take just as much pride in a successful mission without a shot fired, but a safe landing back home, as one with 16 enemy vehicles destroyed. 13th CAB staff provides organized training events and supports you on the way to becoming mission-qualified. The 13th CAB holds its weekly Mandatory Event on SUNDAY @ 1945 CE(S)T (Summer Time 1745Z, Winter Time 1845Z). The 13th CAB holds its weekly Training Sessions on Thursday @ 2030 CE(S)T (Summer Time 1830Z, Winter Time 1930Z). The minimum requirements for joining the 13th CAB are as follows: – Being PROACTIVE, willing to read study material and perfect your skills in your own time, outside of regular training events – Being able to conduct a stationary hover pedal-turn to maneuver around tight forward bases (FOB and FARP). – Demonstrating basic experience using the navigation, sensor, and weapons systems. – Able to speak and understand proficient ENGLISH; communication is key to success, we need to understand each other – Using HOTAS or HOCAS and pedals, as well as head tracking or virtual reality – Owning the aircraft module of your choice and required maps (see CJTF-13 recruitment post) If you are interested in joining us please visit our website or join our discord and simply contact one of our recruitment officers (with CJTF Staff tag) Website: https://tawdcs.org/battalion/cjtf Discord: https://discord.com/invite/tawdcs If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or directly message me on Discord: my ID tag is @eteokles
  5. If you are a DCS Chopper Pilot looking for a place to develop and share your flying and combat skills, you should definitively check out Black Shark Den, the largest rotary wing ONLY squadron for DCS in the North America and European regions. We are offering the most structured training for helicopters, based on the US Army ATM (Aircrew Training Manuals) and are actually proud of having several active helicopter pilots both military and civilian in our instructors rank who provided their best insights. We have also talented mission designers, modders and scripters who are providing most of what is badly missing in DCS for helicopters operations to our missions. Each region (EU and US) is structured in platform based platoons with specific training and roles: Our missions are designed with helicopters operations first. We are not flying fixed wing. None. (unless we are having events with other friendly fixed wing squadrons :)). If you are still not convinced, come and say hi on our BSD Discord channel. You are always welcome.
  6. Hi everyone, I was a big fan of the French helicopter multiplayer SAR mission, which is no longer active. So, I decided to create my own small heli SAR mission. Enjoy! Server name: Rotors Over Beirut (SAR) IP adress: 85.132.139.56:10308 Discord: https://discord.gg/8XnNRWgCxY
  7. I am trying to create mission where AI controlled helicopter will escort ground unit. As soon as I set waypoint action to "Ground Escort" it stops using flares. What am I doing wrong? no-fox2-flares-no-mods.miz escort-no-flares-for-fox2.trk
  8. Hello, I wanted to report an issue with the external cargo and event handler that I discovered while working on a game mode and some related lua code. This error occurs when a piece of external cargo is lifted and then destroyed, by either being dropped or damaged mid-air. When this situation occurs, and an instance of the event handler has been called in the mission, the following error is prompted: [string "..."]:10: attempt to call method 'getName' (a nil value) stack traceback: [C]: in function 'getName' [string "..."]:10: in function 'onEvent' [string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:13: in function <[string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:11> null null I have also seen this error in the forementioned game mode be prompted with a getPosition or getPlayerName call; but always occurred when the external cargo was picked up and then destroyed. I have slimed the conditions of the error down to its most basic state, involving an external-cargo capable helicopter (in this case a CH-47), a piece of external cargo (in this case a small ISO container), and a 'Do Script' trigger calling the event handler, in the attached mission file. I have also attached my DCS log for the instance and a video of the error occurring with this mission: https://youtu.be/Jlano9twZQ0 (Please excuse the delay in hooking the cargo, it's more stressful when recording ) Lastly, here is the event handler code I used in the mission. For simplicity's sake, it is a slightly modified version of the event handler code found on the DCS hoggitworld wiki here: DCS func addEventHandler - DCS World Wiki - Hoggitworld.com Code: local e = {} function e:onEvent(event) local m = {} m[#m+1] = "Event ID: " m[#m+1] = event.id if event.initiator then m[#m+1] = "\nInitiator : " m[#m+1] = event.initiator:getName() end if event.weapon then m[#m+1] = "\nWeapon : " m[#m+1] = event.weapon :getTypeName() end if event.target then m[#m+1] = "\nTarget : " m[#m+1] = event.target :getName() end if event.id == 30 then m[#m+1] = "idx " m[#m+1] = event.idx end trigger.action.outText(table.concat(m), 10) end world.addEventHandler(e) As a closing remark, I am quite new to Lua coding. As such, when this error began occurring, I did believe it to be a mistake from myself; especially given the complexity of my game modes code. However, after doing an extensive amount of testing, I became more confident in the idea this may be an actual bug. I look forward to learning more about the issue and hearing other's thoughts. Thanks! EventCrash.miz dcs.log
  9. I tested both with the Ka-50 and the AH-64D, vs 4 tanks in the open: - the Ka-50 managed to destroy... 1 tank. - the AH-64D was effective when there was no obstacle between it and the targets, but when you add a hill... it destroyed 2 tanks, then began to launch Hellfires randomly in the air. The way they attack is very, very ineffective and unrealistic: they just climb really high and continue to advance toward the targets, while they should remain as low as possible and stay at a distance. Ka50_bad_attack.trk AH-64D_bad_attack.trk
  10. Hi, is there any way to place player helicopters on the cargo ships or destroyers with a visible helicopter pad? I tried using "take off from parking hot" , but unlike on aircraft carriers, the helo doesn't snap to the pad, instead it repositions to the nearest parking on a land base, which is obviously not what I want. Regards, Snappy
  11. the Ka-29 helix is sort of a mix of the Ka-50 and Mi-8, it can attack light and medium targets and also carry cargo or do CSAR, the weapons it can carry include an internal GShG-7.62 external Shipunov 2A42 (30MM) (same as BMP-2), S-8 and Strum-v / Ataka | max ATGM's = 8 and S-5 it can also carry UPK (unlike our Mi-24) has an internal bay for troops and small cargo its cruse speed is 235km and a range of 460km, its empty is 5.5t and max is 12.6t, it can carry 16 men or an internal payload of around 3t and external payload of 4t it also has 1 or 2 internal fans depending on the version id say the Ka-29 would be a great addition to the helo line up, it can carry the weapons of a Mi-24, carry the troops and cargo of a Mi-8 (for the most part) and has the rotor and gun of a Ka-50, its kind of like a hornet, jack of all trades master of none.
  12. an updated version of this with more images, there is a Syrian/Russian helo base missing, its on the west coast of Syria, it hosts Mi-24, Mi-8 and some Ka-27's its at N 35.28.10.25 E 35.55.14.09 elev ~64m this image was from 2016 (around when our map is set) the base sits 6.50km 338 degrees north of Basel Al Assad what it looks like in dcs, (i added the grey to show the outline of the base) some images that as far as i can tell are from the base
  13. Missions by pilots for pilots and ambitious gamers. We hope this Update will be part of the DCS Beta update in Dezember ! This winter, we are releasing our second major service update. The purpose is not to fix bugs but to make improvements that allow even inexperienced pilots to complete the missions with a bit of practice successfully. A significant gap that we fill with this update is the missing patches on the flight combos of the crew and a distinctive skin for the Huey. We have designed logos and badges that will adorn the upper arms and helmets of the crew and the nose of the Huey after the update. Not least for reasons of inversion, all missions will be updated to the current state of the art. This add-on helps to dive even deeper into the world of the crew and create a unique experience. Test your skills in missions as close to reality as possible with maximum enjoyment.
  15. Bell UH-1M (Huey Hog) Helicopter gunship ..... flyable, clcikable, standalone, startup procedure, EFM, fully armed..... etc etc.... Vietcong added to the infantry list in Mission Editor.... for the Vietnam War. CREDITS : see credit text in folder (Cockpit by Yakarov) This is a Hi-res cockpit of the Bell UH-1M, with a simpler startup. It is not my intention to replace the UH-1H module by Belsimtek or replicate it in anyway; however there was a perceived desire in the modding community for a fully fledged Vietnam War era helicopter gunship; and so I did the UH1C, then realised that infact the UH1M was a better configuration and carried more weapons......so..... here we have the Bell UH-1M. Startup : look in folder for "UH-1M startup procedure.txt"....... there is a switch to turn on/off hints.... If you want a HiRes cockpit with all the bells and whistles working, please consider buying the UH-1H Huey by Belsimtek, that is an excellent module and gives you the full immersion experience. This project (UH-1M) was drawn together and completed by Freddy. 16. DCS OpenBeta 2.7.7 Server IP: 144.217.252.42:10308 SRS: 144.217.252.42:5002 LotAtc: Request Access Tacview: Request Access General Server Idea What we wanted to bring to the DCS community is a server that will be persistent, hardcore, and fun. While we are mainly Rotary wing focused, this does not mean we do not like the fixed-wing airframes. Helping other players in building FARP, units, and capturing airfields is a very important part of our server. Discord<<Click me Situation Israel and Syria have been in conflict for thousands of years. Since 2022, After the ceasefire ordered by the Council of nations, Syria Has spent the last 20 years gearing up for war. Syria and the Council of Nations are not willing to allow the dictatorship to have such a large arsenal. The border needs to be reinforced to protect Israel from a possible Syrian Invasion. Once the border is reinforced, we can start the push into Syria to remove the dictator from power. Damascus is heavily reinforced by his followers. Destroy factories and airfields. Frequencies can be found in your kneeboard. There are Easter Eggs in this server mission. Good luck finding them! Game Plan Reinforce the front line(indicated on map) Push the Syrian forces from the border Move into Syria and capture the Factories, Airfields, and strategic points Dwindle the Syrian forces until the supply is low enough for an attack on Damascus Assassinate the Dictator Persistence This server is persistent, constantly evolving campaign. What this means is, everything you do is kept on the server after a restart. Supply There is a finite amount of supply for both Syria and Israel. This means if you take off in a helicopter or a jet, and loose the aircraft that will no longer be in the supply However, there are factories across the map for resupply of Airframes, Fuel, Munitions, and troops. Don't forget that you will need to resupply the airfields and FARPS with the required munitions. Statistics We save stats on the server, that includes but not limited to; Flight hours Kills Deaths Weapons Specifics AI specifics Rules Be kind.... Work together No trolling No Teamkilling Combined Arms Yes! We love combined arms users! If you would like to have the ability to have a combined arms slot, do not hesitate to ask! We keep the slots limited to users who are on the discord and have some form of reputation with Gracey's Village. This keeps trolls, and griefing to a minimum Weather The weather is a slightly bumpy, and chilly light overcast. The time starts at 730 am(first run) and continues through the night into the next day. Weather can change overtime.
  17. While I was building a mission I noticed AI helicopters have this odd behavior. For some reason they fly off into no where, I made a small mission to test it and place it near Kobuleti which is to the right of the helicopter. For some reason it flies to the left out to sea. This behavior only happens when you set the AI helo set to have a race track orbit. A circle orbit works just fine. I've attached the .miz I used to test as well as a track file. 18. On RAZBAM's discord after one of the devs showed us a hint of what one of the secret modules they are working on, someone asked about the Aérospatiale Alouette III. The (hint) which was made out to be a joke at the time was this image. If you put together French + Propeller/Rotor + Australia one can come up with the assumption of the Alouette III. The same dev then replied to it showing us this. I wanted to ask you guys if you were considering adding the Alouette III as a full fidelity module instead of just an AI asset for the South Atlantic map. This aircraft is of huge interest for me and would be an instant pre-order. I hope you do take into consideration the amount of interest people have for this aircraft becoming a full-fidelity module and decide to push it into a flyable state for DCS.
  19. Hi all, I am planning to order the Collective from VirPil in July :), and was considering pairing it up with a new joystick and base (now got the TM Warthog with F/A-18 Grip) to go with it... But can't decide on which Grip there would be best suited for helicopter operations. So can you come with any recommendations??? Thanks in advance.
  20. 1. Uncontrolled AI Huey that has a Start Advanced Waypoint Trigger, once activated slides on the ground like it has no mass. 2. AI Infantry doesn't follow the waypoints consistently - can often run in completely the opposite directions and won't stop within over 100m of the end point. 3. Helo set to fly to and land at an airport and land on a specific parking slot. It flies past the the airport and goes to a completely different one and then won't even land there but just floats about doesn't do anything further. If you can't build a mission and rely on waypoints or a helo to not slide into a house, or that a unit will actually enter a trigger zone, then how can we build a mission?! AndTheHorseYouRodeInOn.miz

  23. 4th Aviation Regiment - part of TAW CJTF-13 is looking for Apache Pilots and CPGs. Simple Mission TAW CJTF-13 Channel The 4th AVIATION REGIMENT, part of the CJTF-13 battalion, aims to be the most realistic and immersive virtual experience while still having a good time making friends. We strive to follow real-life procedures as closely as possible in DCS World. We use realistic procedures around the airfields, FOBs, transit, and combat operations. We continually develop extensive documentation and training materials for our pilots supported by SME's and publicly available real-world documentation. Events schedule - EU Thursdays 19:30Z (20:30 CET) - Training Sundays 18:45Z (19:45 CET) - Training / Missions What's in it for you You get to grow skills in flying the Apache with a group of like-minded people who strive to get the most out of DCS for 'as real as it can get'. You master not just the aircraft operation, but also different ways and mission sets to employ it in a collaborative and friendly way with the rest of our crew. Finally, you can participate in large-scale operations together with other JTF-88 squadrons, playing your role in reaching objectives over the campaign spanning multiple months in a given AO. All our missions are carefully planned and executed to ensure we get the most fun and learnings over each iteration. I'm interested, what should I do? Please join our Discord https://discord.gg/tawdcs and talk to me @Highwayman#4077 if you want to ask additional questions or start your journey with us by signing up here on our Main site Additional Information Our basic requirements: Owning the Syria and PG map modules. Owning trackir based solution or using VR. A basic understanding and handling in the airframe. We have a mature user base so we require you to be over 16.
  24. I think it would be interesting to set a render of a 3d version for the HDU for non VR users. It would be realistic if it was set on the right. i would try to crop and Photoshop the already existing model from the VR version into a standard version, so people with track ir /opentrack and even controllers could enjoy it. PS: I remember a topic in the mid 2000s here at the DCS forum's about the same thing. it was a reply from a guy named bradmick that i saw a 3d render on the Apache model A. (i thought it was a cool 3d model back then) With the current tech that we have now a days, it could be done. (VR were not a thing in 2000's) Ps: i had the same Apache from Alpha Sim but was still learning eng from jp at the time so i didn't knew if the FSX model had the HDU or not. ( obviously it didn't, the guy did a render) I was browsing for this post like mad for ages.
  25. Does anyone see the potential in cargo/heavy-lift helicopters? I’ve heard that ED is planning to/is currently making a cargo plane. So, I figured, with cargo-running being a somewhat boring way of flying, cargo helicopters would be much more interesting. While you’re still hauling cargo, you also have the interesting and fun challenge of wrangling a powerful helicopter. Of course, cargo planes can carry significantly heavier loads and they do have a place in DCS, with the maps being massive. However, for smaller loads, cargo helicopters would be significantly more interesting and incentivizing to fly. For example, a CH-54 Tarhe or CH-53E Super Stallion could never dream of carrying as much weight as merely a C-130, but in a sim, they would be vastly more interesting. You need to slow to a hover, skillfully hold the hover, and hook up to whatever heavy load you’re lifting. Also, you can do it wherever you want! I think that in addition to the C-130 (if it is indeed becoming a module), we should also get a heavy-lift helicopter for smaller, but more interesting missions. Here’s a list of super cool and very fitting aircraft for the job: CH53E Super Stallion CH47 Chinook CH54 Tarhe (“Sky Crane”) Mi-6 (downside: large, 5-6 man crew) Mi-26 (downside: large, 5-6 man crew) Helicopters that are interesting and worthy, but not good as the NEXT helicopter: UH-60 AH-1 The Tarhe, Chinook, and Stallion are all great options, and I’d argue better options than the Mil duo. With a small crew while still packing huge lifting muscles, they’d be ideal for the job! Especially the Tarhe with it’s 10,000lbs Daisy Cutter LZ-clearing bomb and huge muscles! @NineLine Sorry to bother you, buuuut…
