  1. I'm no photographer and this is from my phone, so take it for what it is. She was a real beauty, massive, and in excellent condition from a visual perspective. Allegedly, she is airworthy and they fly her from time to time. They have a bunch of other nice aircraft there as well. Hats off to Virginia Military Aviation museum.

  2. Hi fighters! Thank you for your interest in our project. As promised before, we continue to support and develop it! If you are familiar with the symbols: "F-16", then you will be pleased with today's news. Previously, this place was inaccessible to you, but we have prepared a surprise for you. Get ready for your military trip to Muwaffaq Salti Airbase. The aviation history of this place dates back to the First World War. It was home to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, Belgian Air Component and United States Air Force. Helicopters, transport aircrafts, fighter aircraft, drones - everyone was here. By the way, we made new unique hangars for this airbase, now your birds will be safe. Even though the canteen (DFAC) is no longer as tasty as experienced fighters say, the rule of three drinks has been preserved and you will be covered by MFR (the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program). The Internet is available, but may fail, so be sure to take a hard drive with your favorite movies with you. When you arrive at the location, tell us whether you liked it or not, we tried to provide all the conditions for you. Here's a little review for you

  3. Yes, tomorrow they will be public :). More seriously, IFF transponder, the 2310 L tank and many, many bug fixes. This patch has been more about solidifying what is released now, to prepare for additional content in the future. Fortunately, it was added many weeks ago as a result of a petition from users . Take into account that there are internal deadlines so it's impossible to publish new content this fast (and for good reason).

  6. Couldn't disagree more. I don't know what settings you've got but this is 100% not my experience. I LOATHE Meta/Facebook and I never wanted to give them a single cookie, let alone money, but I used Amazon to 'try' it out and I was blown away. Not only are the visuals sharper than the G2 (in fact so close to the Pimax Crystal that I also tried a month ago and returned because it was no where near worth the money) but there is literally no sweet spot. I don't have to move my head to read gauges one at a time, I can, like in real life, just move my eyes to see them and keep my head tracking the bandit. Also, unlike the G2, when I look down by my hips to see the back parts of the side panels (like the refuelling switch in the F16) it's just as clear and sharp as looking straight ahead; in the G2 I had to physically tilt the visor down because everything was blurry when I looked at those panels. I don't know what settings these two have used, but out of the box it blows the G2 away.

  8. It's just an example; not something we're noting as being an actual bottleneck right now. The entire module is a product of the whole; and if there's overall more complexity involved, even small things like a few additional vertex transformations every frame can have an impact. Performance is important and while we want to push things onward in fun ways, we're not very enticed into creating unplayable, unfun experiences.

  9. right now no. main purpose of mini-mode was to allow user to manage dcs install functions w/ minimal screen space impact. Once a lot of code issues are cleaned up and I turn my attention to UI cleaning, I will be converting a lot of menu options to flow panels, which is what modules pages use, to allow dynamic adding/removing of items while maintaining their order, etc. Both Main UI and Mini UI may have size adjusted as well.

  10. Happy New Year everyone. Sorry, I have been absent, MIA, and gone for so long. I would like to thank all of you for your concerns and it means a lot to me. It's been rough but I'm still here trying to get back into what I love doing. Creating AI 3D Ship models for DCS. It's a slow process but I'm getting there. My plan for 2024 is to start creating small 3D DCS AI boats and ship models and work my way up from there. I will create the mods in no specific order. I will eventually get back to the AI Mods I was working on in 2023. Below is the first model of 2024. Finlands Hamina Class Missile Boat FNS Tornio. It's a WIP. For the record, I haven't seen any issues with any of my AI Ship models and I have the recent DCS version installed.

  11. Just wanted to bump this post again, I think now would be a great time to outline the future plans for the level of detail planned for the Cyrano IVM and a brief overview of its expected capabilities and limitations, particularly its use at low altitude and in look down

  12. Id like to add to the topic of maintenence and "swapping out" worn parts, that this is up to the mission designer and scenario to decide. What if your Phantom was created in a factory very late in a long war where the enemy shut down your supply of new parts and the tolerance for the jet has been reduced heavily. What if the jet was captured and used by a country that can't just replace tiles and has to work with what they got. The wear/tear system also tries to capture this aspect to give mission designers more options. And it might for example be highly relevant beyond fictional scenarios if we decide to perhaps make a WW2 prop plane in the future (just an example). Ultimately, no two Phantoms are absolutely identical. There are very subtle differences and you can feel that. Im aware that the wear and tear system and it's exact effects are vague and hard to grasp at the moment. Thats why we want to explain it later in more depth, for example in a video.

  16. I think I've arrived at a good solution for the cirrus layer. I created new cirrus textures that are similar to the originals but higher resolution. I decided not to use the more dramatic cirrus textures as they don't blend as well with the volumetric clouds. I also increased the transition time to 15 minutes. This makes the change a little less jarring then the default 3 minutes. Here's the default cirrus up close: Here's one of my updated cirrus textures

  18. As well as the PHIMAT chaff pod, the Iraqi (BQ/EQ) Mirage F1's can carry the X-29L Laser guided missile and the X-29T TV guided missile. They use the latter effectively but I can't get them to fire the Laser versions at all? Anyway, I'm jealous - it would be great to have a guided weapon on our version(s)! Perhaps the AS-30L that was widely used on the F1?

  24. That's right, you have to use the "thunderstorm" precip setting to see lightning and hear thunder. I wish there was a way to change that and make it available on the normal presets but I don't think there is. Honestly the lightning isn't that great anyway. It spawns all over the place and not just in and around clouds. We'll need to wait on ED to improve that one.

  26. Is there any way to customise the Mini UI? Currently it shows the 6 build slots, but I really doubt if many users have much more than 2 builds and soon to become 1. Whereas, most users probably use external apps like TrackIR/Opentrack VR client etc. I feel having less build slots and some expernal app slots in the Mini UI would be really helpful. Maybe 2 or 3 of the preset slots as well. Just an idea.

  31. Hi guys, It is very interesting how people see things differently. I saw the post about the G3 user problem and in the end I have to agree with the post above, from @Hawkeye_UK. To me it sounds like a proficiency issue or a very bad setup. I am not stating that this is THE issue, It only looks to me like it is… I am almost finishing this campaign and all missions I made on the first try. Missions 1 and 3 are very difficult for sure, but not impossible. I can vouch for this Campaign and how it brings me back some memories about RL flying. I’ve never flew a Mustang, but I fly something very similar to it (among other planes). I’d say that night flying, specially using WWII technology is not for the weak and killed more people than the enemy. Vertigo is a real b.tch… I use a Varjo Aero as VR, but I just added to my notes never to recommend a G3… Anyway, life goes on! Reflected, keep it up your good products and be sure that I will buy any campaign that you put on the market. All the best, Sydy

  32. Keep in mind that this system includes things like lightbulbs that aren't the same brightness. Some other part of the electrical system could have a failure that reduces the voltage input to a specific bulb, but it's still enough to power the bulb albeit dimmer than the others. Or some contacts could get dirty or loose causing intermittent power, it depends on how good the maintenance on the jet is. Motors definitely have this sort of degradation and they have said this applies to the Pave Spike motors. One motor could be faster than the other since it is less worn out. Partial failures and wear are definitely not out of the ordinary for various electrical components. As for hydraulics, they've already showcased the sticking landing gear piston that causes judders during gear extension. That would be a degradation even though the component is still serviceable. Problems can always develop between maintence checks, not everything lasts till it times out, especially on a fighter aircraft in active use. If you want to talk instruments, just watch the latest video. They showcase various part failures of the altimeter, e.g. a stuck needle or barrel causing a partial failure of the instrument. Not every part that could break is only licensed to do a specific number of hours. The altimeter gets a check, it doesn't get replaced after x number of hours. Same for the electrical stuff. You wouldn't swap out a G1000 system after x hours because that's not a consideration or limitation on that system. You do checks on it at intervals and repair/replace when things break or go out of tolerances. Bearings on an instrument are another example. The F-4 is analog, which means lots of mechanical and less digital. Older more worn out gryoscopic instruments will not perform identical to brand new parts due to wear in the internal components. That doesn't mean they can't and aren't used until they actively break or go out of tolerances. It either works or it doesn't is true, but degradation is still present even in a system that functions within tolerance. This is one of the reasons why tolerances exist in the first place.

  33. Having got this campaign tonight and also playing in VR, note i didnt crank the gamma up, this all rather sounds like a skill issue, for me i flew on instruments, nearly had a mid air on forming up through the cloads, all very authentic. Why should a content creator who prides himself on recreating accurate missions make it easy for those that are struggling? It's like the same one's who don't like to air to air refuel generally or critise speed and angels for being too hard etc and disagree with grading... My suggestion is practice alot more. Rarely comment on SP campaigns but yea @Reflected keep up the good work pal - i actually just buy your campaings now one in support but 2 knowing they are going to be excellent - not to mention the rediculous attention to detail and in the knowledge that when ED screw up the game and campaign with an update (or Urga re parking slots as i read the issues first) you will work your arse off to sort, noting the time of the thread im guessing you did nothing else over christmas but reslot P51 slots, the reality is most players have no concept what goes into the mission editior to make these. Hoping your bring out a P47 campaign next for the same time frame for Overload and Normandy in June 44. Thank you for what appears another best in class campaign, looking forward to carrying on with it tomorrow! PS for those that fly VR, if you can upgrade to the Crystal i came from a G2 (given they are being bricked) and all i can say is wow, its insane!

  34. This is the F-4E with a RN skin on Hermes without the folding wings. Still working on the skin for the F-B/C with the folding wing. While it's correct that Hermes never deployed with the Phantom it might be fun for "What if" scenarios. Same with my FRS.1 SeaHawk. I'm all in to help if anyone want to do a Sea Vixen and or Buccaneer. Even if they are only ai.

  40. so after a long time I found out why in my case it "stopped" locking targets on the HAD. It has to do with the Mark point DED page. If I have it open, even with the HAD as SOI using TMS up doesn't have any effect on locking HAD targets. If I get out of the Mark point page it works as intended. Wether this is a bug or feature I'm not sure
