The manual says that two things are filtered out. Things with no ground speed, such as mountains and a notching aircraft, and things with no relative speed, such as an aircraft moving away from you at the same speed as you. My question, is why is it like this? Do these both create no doppler shift? If so, why? Since a mountain is not moving, it should create no doppler shift, so it is filtered, then why is an aircraft moving away from you at your same speed filtered out? It is moving away; shouldn't it create a doppler shift? Otherwise, why does a mountain not create a doppler shift? The mountain is still moving towards you. My question is, why do these both create no doppler shift? I would thing one would create no doppler shift and the other would create a doppler shift.

I noticed this when I started to turn Jester off so I could learn the startup as a whole together. It starts when you arm the pilot's ejection seat. It also goes away when you cycle it too. It's kind of randomly activated by a cycle of the pilot's ejection seat, to make the sounds stop, cycle it until it does. I can't attach the videos but here's links to them. Aircrafts: F/A-18, F14 Pilot/RIO, F15c, F15e Pilot/WSO, and F16 Requirements: Mic, 18+ (we can work 16+, but we will interview you), Be able to purchase maps like Syria/Nevada/Persian Gulf, If you fly F18 or F14 you must have Super Carrier, Be able to show up to missions We Are a NA based Squadron and our op times are at 9pm EST on Wednesdays. We also host Arma ops that correlate to the DCS ops every Thursday at 9pm EST. We do like to have fun and also randomly hold game nights. We understand that life is a priority and don't expect you to give up your life when joining our squad. We don't make our members remember manuals or watch slides as we are all adults and have other things to take care of. If you do wish to join the group keep please the time zone in mind as well as the following rules. Take Missions seriously and don't purposely throw the mission. While we are not a full blown realism unit, we would still qualify us as MilSim. Our playstyle is set up for people who want to fly a realistic campaign in DCS without joining a full blown realism unit. You will be expected to talk on the radio relatively correctly and to take the scenarios seriously. We will not have a rank structure nor a chain of command. Mods are simply around to moderate, not to boss you around. Before joining the Campaign please pick an aircraft you are willing to fully commit to. This should be an aircraft that you are either willing to learn or are already proficient in. This aircraft should also be something that you are willing to fly for the main campaigns in the group. Due to the nature of DCS we would prefer people to stick to an aircraft. That being said, there will be opportunities in fun events/side missions for people to fly other aircraft, as well as different campaigns that may require different aircraft. You will not be allowed to fly in the campaign unless you picked an aircraft ahead of time. Before playing the campaign with us you must complete a check flight. This is not a daunting task and we don't want to fail you. We just want to know that you are confident enough in your airframe to fly in a mission. We require an attendance rate of 2 Ops per month. If you do not meet this rate you will be removed from the group. There are obvious exceptions to this such as family issues or even exams for schools. We are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined the group to play, so play. People who have just joined and have not passed their check flight have 1 week to at least attempt a check flight (if no one can do your check flight in that week for some reason an exception will be made) if you do not pass this check flight, the week resets. untilCome Join Our Sunday Night Campaign! Every Sunday night at 9PM EST we host our campaign missions. These missions have a light story behind them, data cards to go along with each mission, and proper briefings. We try our best to maintain professionalism, teach proper procedure, and most of all have fun and work as a team during these missions. They are also persistent, if a group of units dies one mission, they will not make it to the next mission. We also utilize several scripts made by the community to enhance realism, such as the IADS Script, various Moose Scripts, and so on.

Basically, what's in the title. As I fast forward, it come and goes at various volumes. Haven't done a thing except arm and then disarm the pilot's ejection seat, this Tomcat is dead cold, as is upon spawning in. Hello, I've posted on this topic before didn't have the time to test it but now I've. Last time I wrote this (Under that I would put the test results and other people experience with this issue.) : " I would add later this day a video of this. The basic idea is: - 80% of the time the missile won't show on RWR and you would just die. - The time it does show on RWR it usually shows about 0.5 seconds before impact and very rarely it will show 3-4 second before impact. - Also a F-14 will not show on the RWR when it locks you for most of the time, it will maybe blip in RWR twice or a bit more but that's it. (Tests have been done on the Viper [F-16] but a Hornet [F-18] player that I fly with also confirmed that the Phoenix doesn't show on RWR). *I would try to add a video of this happening when I'm home, around 6-4 hours from when this is posted* " On this post I got the response of IronMIKE, he said this; " Thank you. If this is happening on the RWR of another module, it is likely an oversight on their side and would have to be addressed with them, please. " Before posting my first topic about the issue I've contacted NineLine on the ED Discord he responded by telling me this: " You may need to report this to HB " Because of that I'm trying to figure out to who should I reach out about this problem. My first test were in a Viper [F-16] and in the F-15, did it on single player when the A.I got these following settings, Enemy fighter- Ace, 1 AIM-54C-MK47, at 35,000 feet with speeds of mach 1.0 . In that test the Viper didn't got the results that I looked for it immediately started warning of a incoming missile the moment the A.I launched, but the F-15 did got the result that I looked for. In this track file you can see the F-15 not getting any warning of a incoming missile: F-15 AIM-54 test bug prood.trk I had a track file of that happening to me but I don't remember which day it was and each track file is at least 2 hours. Also I asked around to see if some players also experienced the same thing, I got some of my buddies to confirm that this has happened to them after the latest update but like me they have lots of file that each one is at least 1 hour long, I've also asked around in the ED's discord, a user named FzK#4325 told me the same thing, he flies the F-14 and he didn't have a track file for me but he did have a Tacview recording. he said the it had happened to him 3 times in the mission he flew, it may seem like he was defending but he said the he is cranking right after he shots everytime, by the Tacview we can see the he engages a bandit then he foxes and start cranking, not getting any RWR warning and then he just dies. I'm just testing this module to see if I'd like to purchase but I don't see how anyone can enjoy it. The way it feels and the bugs, and Jester, why? It flies like bucket of bolts made of lead. The RIO Tutorial is missing the console buttons you have to press during the Tutorial? This is not a finished product, and puts shame to the F14, makes me cry inside a little as this is my ultimate favourite fighter aircraft IRL. Is anyone else having the same issues or shares the same views?

Solution: Avoid having buttons with an 'off' variant, it will bug out your controls Report: Bug: There is an issue where my buttons just completely lock, including my HOTAS and keyboard, the only thing I could do was pause the game. This allows me to rescan the devices, which made it work again. This only happens when I use a control on the HOTAS itself - nothing bad happens if I simply use my mouse and keyboard. This shouldn't be a lack of power issue, as this only happens when I use the F-14. Reproductability: Sometimes, it works just fine, but other times, it just does the bug. I'd say a 9/10 chance. Other people say they have no issues with their HOTAS, so I'm assuming it's just either a bug with the F-14 or an incompatibility with my HOTAS. Here are my specs if you are interested: Ryzen 9 5900x 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM (3600MHZ) RTX 4080 Thrustmaster Hotas X (plugged into motherboard) 750W Gigabyte power supply DCS installation on an SSD Note - I have even tried to remap the controls entirely for the F-14 to ensure there were no conflicts, but it keeps happening. The RIO settings seem fine, but it only happens when I'm the pilot. I am also on the latest openbeta branch - 2.8.2.3579 (at the time of writing). Thank you for your time. - Ell

There have been multiple instances where Aim-54C has simply failed to go aqquire a target or go active in a given situation that simply should not happen, Today I got the most blatant case of this that i literally just closed DCS. I was flying on the GS server at angels 45 ish at mach 1.6-1.7 to engage a F15 going about mach 1.8 also at angels 45 ish, I fired a Aim-54C at about the 1:19:15 mark on the Tacview file at a range of 45NM. The Aim 54 proceeded to close to 8NM with the nose pointing RIGHT at the F15 and then proceeded to pitch up and come within 1.9NM of a F15 who didnt change course or even MANEUVER in response to this missile. So, why did it miss? Target size was set to large, we supported it until it supposedly went active, so why? So I was on taxi after making a landing, looking back at the wing moving my controls and flaps cause hey, spoilers look cool, and then suddenly the outermost section of spoiler was jammed in the half up position? Im not sure if this is intended but i asked around and nobody has ever seen the outer spoiler deploy alone with the controls neutral and wings fully extended. After cycling the flaps out and back in it fixed the issue, but then i was able to recreate it on the other wing! For well over a year now the catapults have been bugged on the carriers as to not allow another aircraft to hook to either bow catapult if a Tomcat is hooked to the other. This is a huge bug that leads to long lineups on the carrier waiting to get airborne, combined with the AI's shoddy taxiing ability leads to the carrier being nothing more then a huge fuster cluck where I have even had AI aircraft collide with me while I am sitting still waiting for the catapult. ED has been totally silent on this and has not said a damn thing about any fixes to either the catapults or the AI taxiing ability and instead will just dangle the carrot of the briefing room in front of our faces to try to make us forget that they are doing literally nothing to fix serious bugs in their product. And before someone comes in here and says "It's early access you need to expect bugs" Yes I am well aware that it is, but in the over 2 years we have had the SC module the ONLY decent update we have had to it is the deck crew wands for night ops and that took a embarrassing amount of time to even get that. So before a mod comes in here and locks this thread answer this for me, when are we going to see some REAL updates or even some communication from ED about the supercarrier?

Hi, I would like to know how the checklist system for Interior Inspektion, prestart, engine start and poststart checklist is working in the F14 I am using now the checklist which are coming together with the Zone5 Campaign and I find they are very long and not easy to read for example the Poststart Checklist has 61 Points. A prestart Checklist for example in the A320 or MD80 is much easier so how could a F14 pilot work with Checklist like the poststart checklist or did the Pilot cordinate this IRL with the RIO together and the rio called the checklist item and the pilot did just reply to it or are this checklist not realistic ? Hi Everyone, Great to finally be able to get on the forums and start connecting with you guys, Im stuck in China so even creating an account was difficult. Unfortunately my first post is a bit of a ridiculous one, please see below: I have a Saitech/Logitech X56, which for FC3 and F18 ( After I found a fix) has been working AMAZINGLY for the last few months that I have had it. However, I recently bought the F14 module during the steam sale... and boy oh boy.... Let me first explain my fix for the famous Mode 1/2/3 issues ( unable to use the mode select in the game, even with the app ). After 6 hours of trialing, I found that if you manually set YOUR OWN ( or use the provided ) keyboard shortcuts to ALL the buttons in the app ( not the game ), that you can actually use the mode select, and without issues. This is the case in my experience with the FC3 and F18 modules. Once I painstakingly assigned all the keyboard shortcuts in the game, and then replicated those into a control map on the X56 app ( what a garbage app btw ), I was really enjoying those two modules and havent had a bad experience since. ( please also remember to put the app in test mode, I DONT know why, but DCS doesnt recieve your map inputs unless the X56 APP is in test mode ) Can someone at ED please explain to me WHY, When its possible for FC3 and F18, I cant assign my own hotkeys with multiple modifiers? Just as an example, I have tried assigning hotkeys with modifiers to moving the wings forward/aft/auto, and so far if I try to add multipliers, it DOESNT register? Only ( so far, only had the game since 26/4 and limited time to troubleshoot eveything ) the provided hotkeys are working. Since I am in China, I am unfortunately stuck with Chinese youtube to host the video showing the issue. I still dont believe I am the first person to have this issue, please shout out if you also had this issue. Fix it please. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -= UPDATE =- So after almost 12 hours of testing and troubleshooting, I have finally figured out that the Logitech APP and the f14 module are losing communication somewhere. Any modifiers set in the game are not being recognised ( outside of alt, but then alt doesnt always work either ) I have unfortunately resorted to using the DCS control assign page, but again, using the M1/2/3 triggers as modifiers sometimes and randomly stops working or you have to flick to and from several times to get it to engage etc. Here is my video link on the issue: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1FA41157Qp I realise that its not DCS's problem as a whole that the two programs arent communicating properly, but I have shown several times that it works with other modules, and so far it only has issues with the F14 module. I still honestly believe this should be looked into and resolved. The customisation and utility of the logitech app naturally make the modules much more immersive and involved and really bring much more out of the game. Again, Please fix it.
