First off, a big thanks to the developers of the Sinai map. I posted nothing for a long long time.. but I'm kinda back i guess. Thanks to the Sinai map, and thanks to the incredible mission editor, the realistic sounds that we have now (love the distance sounds so damn much), and all those nice camera settings. The feeling is just "there". Honestly, this seems to be the first map that i'll keep. I've erased all other maps since I got the Sinai map. I bought all the other maps excluding the WW2 map (always hated WW2 stuff) so i skipped it. The Problem with almost every DCS map is that the Ground looks too simple, mostly no good Satelitte images, missing acsess ways to the building, missing or wrong buildings on every Airfield. A lot of "copy/pasted Buildings and many missing Parking lots for Vehicles, no main Gates, missing roads and so on. I've created tons of building after gathering hours and hours of informations from Nellis AFB, Falklands, and so on you name it, but i never finished one Model because the lack of ground detail in DCS was always frustrating. I started to use the scenery removal tool but this is also extremely limited and too much time consuming, more about this later. Looking on Bing maps/google, then back in DCS.. and the frustration was there and it was overhelming. I always wish that DCS will oneday use real Satelitte images to "create" buildings kinda like MSFS2020, but i don't wanne go into this topic right now. Another wish is that we (the community) will oneday be given the option to edit Airfields, add Landmarks etc much easier (MS2020 is a prime example here). Now we got DCS 2.8xx, and the Graphics have improved. Let me say that i can only play games or any Simulation in VR, looking on a screen no matter how big it is is too boring for me. There's still my room, and nothing is life size, the depth is missing etc. But in VR..one word, thrilling, insanely amazing. I've not yet made it to fly in DCS because i just "sit" outside the base with my VR Headset and big headphones on watchig everything like a spotter in real life.. simply astonished. Now... Tel Nof Airbase... again, a lot is missing, and i hope the Developers will hear me cause i really wanne push this Base to get more and more realistic. There's some stuff that could be erased from the map, and some simple stuff that the Developers could add. I would try to get as many buildings and stuff done as possible. Sure i need time, and time is rare cause i'm a full time artist and maybe i would need some support in the long run. Lets start with the Main Gate where i found a pretty good image on google, then i checked the spot in DCS... and sadly there's almost nothing at this place. Just the parking lot..and one lamp Pole...i was like.. anyway lets try it. I started with the Base guard "F-15", which is placed on some stands.. i played around with the Collision Shell and i was suprised to see that it finally worked out.. after that i was thrilled to create the 2 Spotlights on the ground which should illuminate part of the Bottom of the Eagle... and that also worked out pretty well..Call me nuts but to be honest, checking this location in VR is so damn nice, i played some chill out music and i was sitting for an hour on the fence watching the F-15 in VR from every angle.. incredible. Thanks to ED again, you bring a feeling back that i had the last time a very very long time ago. Next step would be to create the Main Gate buildings in the background As some of you may has noticed, the fence was from @Massun92, the palm tree and additional trees was done by myself, also the Light Poles on the Parking spot, you'll see much more later. The F-15 is the original Static Model from ED. Sorry for making this post so long but there's so much on my mind right now... Next post in a minute...

The 335th ‘Chiefs’ traditionally is DCAF’s specialised air to air squadron, currently operating the F-15E Strike Eagle and embracing the immense air to ground capabilities the platform offers. Thanks to the incredible power of the F-15E’s -229 engines, APG-70 and load carrying capacity, the Chiefs have the ability to stay on station longer, fly higher and faster than any other type in DCAF’s roster. If you are interested in rigorous training, getting a comprehensive air to air understanding as well as a solid air to ground skillset, being part of complex operations, immersive experiences, and getting the best out of what DCS has to offer, this is the squadron for you. By the end of the training syllabus , you will be able to operate as a wingman in a flight, execute fourship tacform and BVR in any weather, at any time of day; all without datalink. You will be trained in both DCA and OCA fundamentals in order to tailor the squadron’s air to air tasking according to the mission at hand; including an appreciation of ACM execution. Air to air refuelling, day or night, will be the norm. We also operate within our secondary air to ground role, executing complex profiles planned meticulously and chosen specifically to be best suited to the threat environment be it pre-planned JDAM strikes or 200ft TFR ingresses with pop-up strikes at night. The squadron currently consists of 6 regular pilots and is looking to expand our roster with a handful of new cadets in anticipation of further operations in August to Early October. The 335th is a very tight knit community that is passionate about what it does and its role in DCAF. We strive to constantly develop ourselves, not only from the baseline of training, but to progress further with flight leading, instructor qualifications, and mission planning for the overarching DCAF organisation. If you are interested in being part of a highly motivated, well organised and ambitious squadron and do your part, the 335th is a prime choice. If you work hard in training, be assured that you will find your time in DCAF greatly rewarding. Applicants will join for an introductory talk as to what we do, and what is expected from one another. Subject to your introductory talk, you will be invited for some checkrides to assess your initial skill level to decide whether we want to take you on for our training program . After the introductory talk, we will give you all the necessary resources to succeed and invite you to undertake checkrides to ensure your competence at operating the Strike Eagle, to then build tactical skills on top of existing airframe knowledge. This will include a flying ability assessment with an assessor from startup to shutdown, basic manoeuvres, aircraft handling and air to air refuelling. In addition you will be asked to play a custom mission and submit a tacview and trackfile of your basic combat performance(we aren’t looking for procedures but more to ensure that you are comfortable with using the airframe in basic combat). Upon final review among 335th recruitment officers, if you are accepted we will provide you access to our comprehensive training syllabus, and you will begin formal training based on yours and instructor availability. Training sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the off season, and when operations resume training will be on Tuesdays and every other Thursday, however, additional sessions are possible for those keen to develop skills further if instructor availability permits 335th Basic training program consists of: Domestics Visual circuits – touch and goes around the airfield with controller, Departures & Arrivals – flying in and out of the aerodrome traffic zone, Day and Night Formation flying & TACFORM Day and Night Air to Air Refuelling Basic Air to Ground Unguided Air to Surface Precision Guided Air to Surface Within Visual Range Air to Air Basic Fighter Manoeuvres Air Combat Manoeuvring Beyond Visual Range Air to Air All Weather Intercept theory Beyond Visual Range timelines Defensive Counter Air BVR modifications Offensive Counter Air BVR modifications Once these skills are met, you will be a full fledged member of the Chiefs, with your own Jet and Nose art. You will then be eligible to fly on operations as well as take part in additional training sessions with the rest of the squadron tofurther develop your skills. A note on the ongoing state of the Strike Eagle As the Elephant in the room, and as all players of DCS are likely aware, the future of the Strike Eagle by Razbam Simulations is in limbo. The current squadron direction is to not abandon the incredible multirole capabilities this airframe provides in its current state. In the long term, future modules with similar capabilities may be considered upon release, however, it is our sincerest hope that development and maintenance of the Strike Eagle will be resumed in the near future. If you would like to get in contact to find out more about the 335th specifically and what we do before applying, please get in contact with any of our recruitment officers on Discord: https://discord.gg/dcaf Sfowi Seba If you would like to apply, please follow the links below: https://forum.dcs.world/clubs/page/92-apply-socials/ We look forward to meeting you soon, 335th Exec Team Wampum!

Hello there! Since we haven't received any updates, but still have this wonderful airframe, we need an updated RWR library. For example, we currently don't have an entry for the HB F-4E, which only appears as "UK" / Unknown. In the logs, we see the following: 2025-04-26 16:53:38.283 INFO F15E_CPT (Main): ATTENTION: Unknown RWR contact type "H-6J" This can be easily fixed by adding a line to the ALR56C_LIB.lua file, like: rwr_codes["S-300V 9S19 sr"] = { code = "12", coal = 2, desc = "SA-12 SR" } —or something similar as needed. Unfortunately, modifying this file currently breaks IC. Is there any chance we might get an option to edit this file, or will it be officially handled by ED? It would honestly be a huge improvement! Edit: Answer is given - nothing can be done due to RB / ED current relationship. Once problem is resolved - there will be a fix. Please refrain from posting unnecessary things not related to highlighted issue, thank you.

I made a diagram which shows all available transitions between radar modes in search and designated-target modes. I arranged the modes in how they are related by auto-aqc switch direction, so it's more of a map than just a table of state transitions like the manual provides. Inop modes are colored yellow. I also made a plot showing the azimuth-elevation profile of all radar modes. These should be accurate to the degree, with the exception of maybe the boresight mode where I had to interpret "4 degrees circle" as an azimuth/elevation rectangle. Source diagrams.net files are available upon request. Note: Plot azimuth scale is 2.5 degrees per grid cell, and elevation scale is 1 degree per grid cell. This skews the representation of angular area (solid angle) subtended by each of these modes. Supersearch (SS) and Boresight (BS) should be square in shape.

Are you interested in learning to fly, fight and maximize your abilities in Modern DCS Jets? Would you like to fly fun and challenging cooperative missions as part of a team? Do you have a willingness to learn? We take beginners and we're patient if you put in the effort. If your answers are "Yes," then give the Virtual Armed Forces a go! The Virtual Armed Forces (VAF) is looking to expand its ranks with enthusiastic and motivated virtual pilots and RIOs who enjoy cooperative missions. The VAF has five squadrons primarily supporting three active airframes and one in an inactive state: 111th Fighter Squadron "Ace in the Hole" flying the F-16C Viper - Recruiting Pilots VFA-131 "Wildcats" flying the F/A-18C Hornet - Recruiting Pilots VFA-136 "Knighthawks" flying the F/A-18C Hornet - Recruiting Pilots VF-142 "Ghostriders" flying the F-14A/B Tomcat (currently inactive) 428th "Buccaneers" flying the F15-E Strike Eagle - Recruiting Pilots and WSO's We have openings available for our F-16, F-18 and F-15E squadrons. We don't expect Chuck Yeager; we're happy with Charlie Brown. We prefer good attitudes to good sticks, because with good attitude skills can be learned. We ask only that you bring a good attitude, a willingness use tactics and cooperate as a team, and the dedication to undertake our training syllabus. In return, we will provide our own individual attention to develop your skills. Additionally, we foster a fun, friendly, and supportive environment with no formal rank structure or command hierarchy. Our membership includes a number of civil and former military aviators, and we're all here to have fun! The VAF also boasts custom individual skins created by one of the more prolific skinners in the DCS community. Our comprehensive training program teaches you basic airmanship and 2-ship formation tactics. We focus on realistic training in our Student Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) program. SUPT starts out with VFR flying, landing and take-off patterns, close formation flying and then moves on to IFR, Refueling and Weapons Training. Progression is at the student's pace and flight status is based on the ability to fly safe and to adhere to some basic operational standards. We recruit in small groups to ensure that individual training needs are met and that new members have an opportunity to get to know the group. We currently operate four severs one for training and three for missions. We fly most days from 3pm Pacific until 9PM Pacific. Weekends are throughout the day on our Dynamic Campaigns unless otherwise scheduled. Come watch the VAF on the Air Combat Sim Podcast: If you are still interested, please visit https://www.virtualarmedforces.com/ Please read the VAF rules and regulations and then apply by joining our Discord at https://discord.gg/NRaZbcK9nJ.

untilSuccessful attacks on Soviet logistics including the port of Latakia and the train depot at Raqqa have hampered their advance. At long last they have organized their forces to launch an attack against Palmyra and its oil fields, the main target of their forces. Soviet troops are attacking over the mountains north of Palmyra, but the main thrust of their attack is a large tank force from the East from Deir ez-Zur. They have heavily shelled from the mountains to the North of Palmyra damaging much of the city including the ancient Roman monuments. Unlike in Deir-ez Zur, Syrian troops have been mobilized in large numbers and are prepared to defend against the attack. However, the Soviets have learned from their mistakes and this time have brought SA-6's along with the SA-8/13/15s and Shilkas. They have also timed their attack to coincide with remnant cloud layer from the storm several days prior that will force allied aircraft into the threat rings of those SAM systems. USAF crews have been flown into nearby Tiyas AFB and are capable of rearming and refueling aircraft. 555 Objectives CAS of advancing Soviet armor from the East. You will need to use LGBs or Mavs to stop them. 224 Objectives Primary: SEAD of SA-6 and to remain on station looking for mobile SA-8/13/15s Secondary: CAS of troops advancing from north. 492 Objectives Primary: Established air supremacy over Palmyra (CAP) Secondary. Find and Bomb artillery positions. Note: It would be useful to have a JTAC or someone coordinating ground strikes in this mission. A10s or Apaches could also do this.

As someone who flies aircraft with mirrors and multi-function displays such as the F/A-18, AV-8B, and soon the F-15E, I would like to suggest something. In the settings, you have "Res. of Cockpit Displays", which controls the resolution of the MFDs' image quality and cockpit mirrors. Personally, even though it decreases performance, I like to use my mirrors, but if I want to reduce the MFD resolution to have a more realistic LITENING image, my mirrors will also have their resolution halved. Since it's something simple and the F-15E is very close, I think it'd be a good idea to make a setting "Res. of Cockpit Mirrors" and change "Res. of Cockpit Displays" to only affect the MFDs.

With this new subforum now created I've noticed people asking various questions which have been asked and answered in RAZBAM's discord as well. So to keep people who don't use Discord (or are not in the RAZBAM discord) up to date I thought I'd make this new thread. I'll repost any WIP images and significant updates posted in Discord here for people to see. Based on previous discussions with the Devs/posts from the Devs we've also been able to get a pretty decent list of ordnance/sensors we can expect from them. Uncertain at the moment, depends on information available - Will CFT's be removable? No, this would significantly change the aircrafts handeling, etc. and basically requires a whole new Flight Model, additionally, F-15E CFT's are only removed when it goes into deep maintance, not during operations - Can you fly it alone? Yes, the handful of switches exclusive to the WSO seat will be able to be flipped via a key input from the front seat if you are flying solo - What UFC will we get? I'm pretty sure the poll regarding this ended with an overwhelming win for the DIGITAL UFC, but maybe RAZBAM will model both and allow you to change, but that is unconfirmed - Will it be able to carry Harpoon/SLAM/HARM? No, USAF Strike Eagles do not employ those weapons - Will it carry nuclear bombs? No, with ED now in charge of making weapons there won't be any form of Nuclear weapon (this is also not simulated in DCS anyway) - Is there an ETA on the release? NO

Can someone with more knowledge share some insight in how the DL is implemented in the mudhen? As I understand it should be included in the suite 4 SE we're getting. I'm just wondering what sort of functionality it has in comparison to the hornet and viper? Is it the same, better, worse, different ect. ?

Before getting started, I highly recommend first setting up your Xbox or PlayStation gamepad to control the Mouse using either of the following tutorial videos: Xbox, PlayStation, etc Controllers Using Steam (works for both Steam Edition and Standalone): PlayStation Controllers: From there you should be able to setup your DCS aircraft controls based on the following gamepad layouts (note: even though the images are Xbox controllers, these can also be bound to a PlayStation controller assuming you followed my above DS4Windows YouTube guide): F-15E Strike Eagle Gamepad Layout (Pilot) F-15E Strike Eagle Gamepad Layout (WSO) F-15E Strike Eagle Gamepad Layout (WSO - Alternate / Tuuvas' preferred layout) F-15E Strike Eagle Gamepad Layout (WSO - 1 modifier)

Has anybody had difficulty with the Strike Eagle's keybinds? I've tried to make HOTAS binds, startup macros, and voice commands on the Strike Eagle, and some commands simply don't work. To test if it's something with my macro software or whatever, I cut it out of the process and simply made a single keyboard keystroke try to initiate some action in the cockpit; This had no success. So far I've found that the following commands don't do anything: NAV FLIR: OFF/STBY/ON Landing/Taxi Light: LNDG/OFF/TAXI Tail Flood Lights OFF/DIM/BRT (Actually causes "Landing/Taxi Light: LNDG") (WSO) ICS Mode Switch MAN AN/APG-70 Radar: OFF/STBY/ON/EMERG Flyup Enable Switch Cover OPEN Flyup Enable Switch DISABLE

https://discord.gg/sySYqKEw2M Combined Joint Task Force Theta is a US-based DCS tactical realism group with an emphasis on joint air/land/sea multi-national operations. As a tactical realism group, our focus is on the employment of realistic military tactics and doctrine. The group’s main activity are handcrafted campaigns. Campaign missions are run on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. Most often the campaigns depict realistic military operations, but we are not above more fantastical plots on rare occasions. CJTF-Theta does not have mandatory attendance policies. We understand the fact that life sometimes gets in the way of pastimes. The group also does not stipulate that we be the only DCS community that you participate with. If you are interested in joining, want to learn more, or just want to pop in now and then for a flight connect with us via our Discord linked beneath. I would like to introduce my first mission for the F-15E to you: Operation Iron Hail. A low level, night attack run against the runway at Aleppo. The mission: Hambollah militia groups in Southern Lebanon and South East Syria are increasing their cross border attacks against Northern Israel. So far the attacks have been limited to mortar fire and light rockets, but now the intelligence services received information that Hambollah acquired a large amount of Iranian made Shahed drones - a serious increase in threat level. The first shipment of these drones is expected by air on the morning of 22 October. The shipments will be routed through Aleppo airport. It was decided to prevent this shipment by conducting an anti-runway strike against Aleppo. The runway at Aleppo airport will be destroyed in a surprise attack before sunrise on 22 October. A single F-15E Strike Eagle, callsign HAMMER 710, will be launched from Ramat David Air Base and conduct a night low level attack using Durandal anti runway bombs. As this is a surprise attack, no friendly elements will be near the Syrian airspace during the ingress phase, in order not to alert the enemy. The egress will be covered by a flight of F-15C Eagles and a pair of F-16C Wild Weasels. Required skills: - operate your radio / sel ect radio channels - night flying - Terrain Following Radar - NAVFLIR Mission highlights: + Randomized mission elements, to keep the mission fun when flying a 2nd or 3rd time + Additional mission elements, when flying as multicrew + custom ATC (do not use in game ATC!) + various F10 radio options + hand crafted approach chart and maps + custom kneeboard + single player or multi crew + two miz files for cold start and hot start + 8 page manual in PDF format + >60 quality voice overs *** Syria map required *** +++ change log +++ 21.01.24 no comms in MP - fixed. Please select "Multicrew" from the F10 options, if you fly the mission on a MP server. WSO voice replaced. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335394/

Operation Dragon's Perch - Sortie 2 "Chinese Invasion" Mission: China has attacked Guam to a devistating degree. They have taken key air fields on the island, and attempted to take Anderson AB. Tasking: Nickel (F16c) Primary role was to support Marines defending Anderson AB using Mavericks. Hellcat (F18c) Primary Role was to sink Type 071 and 056A corvettes supporting land operations. Dude (F15e) Primary Role was to strike an enemy fuel depot and air field. Gypsy (F14) Primary Role was CAP. Weather: Cloud base at 8k. Process: Nickel had difficulties managing sensors in the dense jungle, but killed almost all targeted tanks. Hellcat accomplished their mission and flexed over to help Nickel. Dude had difficulties using the F15's A/G radar to accurately find targets in the dense jungle. After a few attempts, they flexed over to the enemy airfield where they were able to drop their JDAMs with ease. Gypsy had some crazy engagements with J-11 and J-15s. Conclusion: It was a fun night. Some frustrations with systems and a few comedic errors, but everyone stayed flexible and ended the night on a good note.

Gents, good evening, I’ve seen many checklists for the Eagle and some very nice and with different styles, but, as usual, I made a Quick Checklist for the F-15E (already on Vs 1.1), but included a very short one for the WSO (specially for the Single Crew ops) with day and night ops options. It is available on the F-15E Quick CheckList User Files Download page. Any feedback is welcome. I hope you like it. All the best, Sydy

Hi! I love flying in the F-15C and the F-22, and i wondered if there are any squadrons recruiting. I live in the EU and i got around 110 hours of flighttime. I still got things to learn and i want to learn with someone, and just fly multiplayer missions. If there are any squadrons that would accept me, please respond here. Thx - TCZ
