Version - 2.9.A001 - UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2023 - Unlimited Fuel for AI Wingmen, Scritps/Triggers updated, Silenced Wingman in Mission 3 (eliminate spam) Welcome to Bold Cheetah, a realistic and challenging 13 mission campaign for the DCS F/A-18 Hornet that will test both your and your aircraft to the limits. DOWNLOAD LINK: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326679/ Before we get into the details, there are some requirements that you need to be aware of before downloading and flying this campaign. • You MUST own the DCS F/A-18C Hornet Module • You MUST own the DCS Persian Gulf Map ** YOU MIST OWN THE DCS SUPERCARRIER TO OKAY THIS CAMPAIGN! ** Mission documents are included in the zip file. Please read the Bold Cheetah Campaign overview for more details on installation. ******************** Bold Cheetah is designed for a player who is proficient in the use of the DCS F/A-18C Hornet module and its weapons systems. You will also require knowledge of US Carrier operations and how to conduct operations off both aircraft carriers and land bases. Examples of challenges you will need to be able to perform include: 1. Case 1 and Case 3 operations, day and night 2. Ability to meet time over target requirements 3. Dynamic re-tasking in a fast-paced combat environment 4. Advanced targeting pod and weapon system employment 5. Formation flying. In addition, familiarity with US military terms and abbreviations is helpful to understand what is happening once in flight. A glossary of useful terms is located at the end of this guide to help you out. ******************** INSTALLATION This campaign is designed and tested for DCS the latest Open Beta version.. I will endeavour to keep it updated as new Open Beta versions are released. I highly recommend players use the Open Beta version of DCS to get the most from this campaign. This means it will not work well on any version of DCS that is not the latest. Unzip the contents of the download to your C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Campaigns\en folder. Since there is not currently an Iranian F-14 skin in game, I have used the amazing IRIAF Blue-Grey skin by Sadjad_Vosoul, which can be downloaded here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3304485/ Download and extract that file into your C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-14B folder. If you do not have a folder named F-14B, then you can create one in that location, then extract the contents. If you do not do this, the Iranian F-14 in-game will visually appear to be an American Tomcat. Once you download and install the campaign and skin, you will find it in the “My Campaigns” section listed as F/A-18C – Bold Cheetah. ******************** SITUATION UPDATE JUNE 1, 2013 The USS Abraham Lincoln and its task group have taken up station in the Gulf of Oman, and will soon commence air operations in support of the invocation of Article 5. The objective of our presence is to deter the Iranians from any military expansion in the region, and to show our allies that we are here for them. Our goal is to provide support to the UAE governments in fighting the growing insurgency on the peninsula. US, British, Canadian and French special forces are now on the ground, helping advise the UAE military in counter insurgency strategy. The air wing will provide assistance to this effort, including Close Air Support over and on UAE territory, and air defense of UAE and Saudi Arabian airspace. At this time, we will not be commencing any military action against any regular Iranian military force, nor will we violate the 12-mile Iranian territorial waters or 12-mile airspace boundary. However, we will be ready to strike, if and when called upon. It is hoped that once the regime in Tehran gets a taste of our presence in the region, cooler heads will prevail and they will de-escalate. ******************** More information is included in the Docs folder inside the .zip file. ******************** Author’s Note As you may know, the release of Bold Cheetah has been delayed for quite some time. In fact, the campaign has been completed for well over a year now, but due to some real-life challenges I had to put off submitting it as an official, 3rd party developer. These challenges are continuing, and I foresee them continuing into the near future. This situation has, unfortunately, caused me to pause my pursuit of releasing Bold Cheetah as a 3rd party, paid DLC. At the same time, I’m aware that I’ve been promising it’s been “coming soon” for far too long. I have decided to release the campaign, for free, into the User Files section of the ED website. I started working on Bold Cheetah back in 2018 and finished it up in 2021. It’s been a lot of hard work, and I’m really excited for you to finally enjoy it and I look forward to your feedback.

[Designer's Notes] 1. Hawk 1-1 (Player 1, Tail # 211), is the mission commander for every mission, and must be selected to trigger designed events. 2. Cold start time is limited for some missions, it's highly recommended that the server remains paused until all players are seated and ready. 3. Please keep the original weapon loadout as some mission triggers will only be activated by a specified weapon type. 4. Please read the briefing material carefully in each mission pack. Please follow the flight waypoints, otherwise, some events might not be triggered. 5. It requires at least 4 players to complete most of the missions. But it's recommended to play with 4 or more players. Hawk 1 Flight is usually designed for primary objective, Hawk 2 Flight is for secondary objective, whilst an hot-on-ramp Hawk 3 with AA Loadout doesn't carry any specific tasks but just in case more than 8 players want to play the game, feel free to change loadout and goals for Hawk 3. [Mission List] Mission 01 - Sunrise [Runway Attack] Mission 02 - Phantom Vanguard [DEAD] Mission 03 - Behind Enemy Lines [TARCAP] Mission 04 - Nocturnal Predator [Precision Airstrike] Mission 05 - Timed Eclipse [Pinpoint Strike] Mission 06 - Arrow Rainstorm [Anti-ship Strike] Mission 07 - Cloudtop Foxtrot [Pinpoint Strike] Mission 08 - Sentinel Shield [BARCAP] Mission 09 - Death from Above [On-call CAS] Mission 10 - Prom Night [Deep Strike] Mission 11 - Act Lancet [Pinpoint Strike] Mission 12 - Twilight Guardian [Escort] Mission 13 - Scrap Valley [Pre-plan CAS] Mission 14 - Alert Five [Intercept] Mission 15 - Wild Weasel Day [DEAD] Mission 16 - Road On Fire [Interdiction] Mission 17 - Dawn Raiders [Deep Strike] Mission 18 - Storm Knight [Deep Strike] Mission 19 - No Time For Caution [Carpet Bombing] Mission 20 - Street Battle [On-call CAS] Mission 21 - Valiant Aggressors [Fighter Sweep] Mission 22 - Fortress Breaker [DEAD] Mission 23 - Moonlight Raiders [Deep Strike] Mission 24 - Operation Opera [Deep Strike] [Air Force Mission List] Air Force 01 - Second Wave [Multiple Tasks] -------------------------------------Original Post Below------------------------------------ Hi guys, I just made a 2-8 multiplayer hornet COOP mission, it's a simple runway attack under Prowler's (S3B as EA-6B) EW cover. It has detailed mission briefing in pdf inside the download package. Operation Hormuz Mission 01 (digitalcombatsimulator.com) I planned to make a series of mission as a whole campaign, it doesn't have much thrilling plots or challenging tasks, but mainly focuse on following briefing instructions, fly tactical formation and basic weapon handling in an "as-real-as-possible" battlefield environment for multiplayer COOP. Hope you enjoy it. Welcome for comments, and please give feedbacks if there's any bugs, thanks.

Hello there, I have some Winwing stuff lying around that I don't make enough use of. Everything is in "good" to "as new" condition. The only defective part is the diagonal up-right on the f-16 grip's trim hat. This was as it came from the factory but as I never bind it to anything, I haven't raised the issue with Winwing. I have about 1 1/2 year warranty left on all the MIPS gear. A bundle price could be negotiated. I'd like to be paid in real life money, not custom skins, some virtual credit, an obscure coin, jellybeans or other "favours". I'm located all the way in the south of the Netherlands. I can either ship items or potentially arrange something else if you happen to be in the neighbourhood. - Phoenix (VR) MIPS (these are the 3 MFD frames w/o displays with the hornet UFC) €350,- - Viper ICP €120,- - Viper Throttle Grip (excl throttle base) €120,- - Orion 2 base with Viper joystick grip (incl shaker module) €134,- - Monstertech short table mount €80,- - Monstertech Winwing baseplate €15,- - Monstertech MIPS table mount €120,-

DCS is a big community and choosing a place to settle down can be hard. There are a lot of groups out there with each having their own culture and standards of flying. As you are reading this ask yourself what you want out of a DCS group. VFA-211 is a DCS Strike Fighter Squadron that is dedicated to getting as close as possible to real world Naval aviation operations. VFA-211 is dedicated to training its members to be the best of the best. We pride ourselves on flying like real Naval Aviators. We also love Naval Aviation and Naval operations. VFA-211 offers a unique experience in that we capture the culture around Naval Squadrons. We’re a tight knit group of like minded people that act like a family building each other up. We are devoted to making an authentic and realistic experience. We are often classified as a military simulation (mil sim), but what does that exactly mean? Well, our definition of mil sim is that we strive to get as close as we can to real-world operations within the limits of DCS. VFA-211’s members have a lot of experience in a wide range of tactics and procedures. Our members are devoted to helping one another accomplish the goal of creating a realistic experience within DCS. Mil sim does not mean you have to greet people and say sir, but we do have a chain of command and ranks to identify members and their respective contributing roles. VFA-211’s motto is “Work hard, play hard”. We feel that if you put in the effort that’s what you’ll get out of it. So is VFA-211 a good fit for you? What do you want out of a DCS group? Here are more questions that you can ask yourself. Do I have a passion for flying and naval aviation? Do I enjoy Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and reading/ abiding by them? Do I enjoy flying the F/A-18C start up to shut down? Am I experienced enough in the F/A-18C? Do I enjoy working as a team and learning in a professional and realistic manner? Can I receive criticism in debriefs whether I fail or succeed in a given mission? Can I become part of a group that flies in the Eastern Standard Time zone on Tuesday and Saturdays at 2030 EST? If you said yes to all of the above, VFA-211 may be a good option for you. We currently have space for about 3-4 more active pilots and exclusively operate the F/A-18C. Our training and operational programs closely resemble that of a real VFA. Our training consists of approximately 16 flights that cover; Startup/Taxi/Takeoff procedures, Formation Flying, Air to Air Refueling (AAR), Low Altitude Tactics (LAT), Air to Surface (AS), Air to Air (AA), and Carrier Qualifications (CQ). In VFA-211 you will be put through SFARP which teaches you Close Air Support (CAS), Armed Reconnaissance (AR) and much more.Lot’s of hours are spent by squadron members making detailed briefs and training materials as well. If you have made it to the end of this, congratulations! We look forward to having you on our team. FLY NAVY!! After 10 min in orbit over Raqqa I don't get authorization to move into the convoy box. The Strike Eagles have already reported winchester and RTBd. I proceed into the convoy box and the convoys aren't there. Some trigger is not hitting.

For sale a Winwing Pheonix MIP, the VR version so without LCD screens. The MIP works perfectly. And there are no cosmetic marks. All original packaging, boxes, bolts, threads, washers, clamps, USB cables, stickers are included. (You can buy the LCD screens separately from Winwing at full RRP if you actually need them for Track IR users). Winwing's UK RRP £480.19. I am looking for £360.14 (75% RRP) for a unit that is essentially in "mint" condition. I will include Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery to a UK address in this price for no additional charge. (Apologies to EU DCS pilots: I am unwilling to send packages into the EU due to previous packages being permanently "lost" in the customs process. I am very happy to sell to EU pilots that are visiting the UK and I can arrange a meeting or delivery to a hotel or place of business).

Hey there, I'm writing this post, as I thought some newer users may appreciate it, or a sort of PSA if you will. The learning curve involved with DCS, as well as learning your aircraft of choice is a massive task to undertake. As much as it is inspiring to watch a DCS YouTuber effortlessly dogfight your favourite plane or dodging SAMs, it is also quite daunting learning how to get to that same point of skill. Perhaps you've found yourself mixing your training between haphazardly referring to the manuals, scouring forums, and YouTube videos. You're getting to the point in which you've played most of the instant action scenarios and some of the free missions, and feel like you need to take it further; and the option of multiplayer seems more attractive. However, unlike dogfighting against computers, you're operating alongside(or perhaps against) humans, which can feel like a quantum shift. You may be considering online squadrons, but nervous about your skill level in relation to theirs. Believe me when I say this, the vast majority of squadrons love to have more people share in their hobby, and take great pride in training people up. The great advantage of multiplayer, and by extension online squadrons, is the added value of learning, community, and most importantly immersion. When I first considered multiplayer, I was quite apprehensive, but once I joined I never looked back, and my flight simulation hobby is vastly enriched because of it. Learning: This can be a sticking point for newer people, since they feel that they aren't adequately experienced, or not good enough for an online group. This may be counter-intuitive, but in some scenarios, being less knowledgeable and joining a squadron to learn can be better. Ultimately while you're in single player, you don't know what you don't know, whereas when you train with other people, they can immediately identify what you need to learn, or what's not going right. Most DCS modules are extremely complex, and frankly the learning process for all of us never ends; we're all just at different points in that journey. As a newer user, you will massively benefit yourself to join a squadron as they can tailor your training requirements. Additionally, many instructors enjoy teaching, and it further enriches their hobby. The core note here is that you won't be burdening anyone from whatever experience level you're starting from, and most instructors love to teach anyway. Community: This may seem marginally obvious, but actually having people to share in your hobby is great. Flight simulation, let alone the DCS community is quite niche, it's not like you can easily have fellow hobbyists down the road. Instead communities are globalised over the internet as we're all spread few and far in between. Thanks to platforms like Discord, the value of community within a flying group is far greater in which you can jump in and talk to your fellow squadron mates seamlessly. Since I've been part of DCAF, I have made some great friends, and I enjoy being able to share my hobby with likeminded people. Immersion: At the end of the day, the value of flying with other humans rather than AI can't be understated. Whether flying with a human RIO or operating as a flight(or both!), the immersion offered is unparalleled. I'm still always impressed when I'm part of a flight of four in parade formation, as we all collectively work together. Or when you all go into a mission, splash some bandits and return to the carrier, the sense of achievement at the end of it is exceptional, because you all had to work together and thoroughly plan what you were going to do, and reaped the rewards of it. I often find going back to single player scenarios feel rigid and too 'sterile' now, since the only human component is yourself. Like what I was saying over learning and community, flying as part of a group fundamentally enriches the hobby. If you're still unsure, feel free to contact myself either here (or Discord), as well as some newer members who fly with me. This can be a good opportunity to scope out what it's like to join a flying group. We're all part of DCAF(Digital Coalition Air Force): Me: Panny#2973 Vak(halfway through training on the F-14): Aisxos#8894 Deivid(also in training on the F-14): Deivid#3419 Brody(recently finished training and is a line pilot): brodyzach#1944 You can also visit our Discord should you wish: https://discord.gg/RrzuvXXd9M Otherwise, if you're interested in my group, I fly with DCAF(Digital Coalition Air Force) as an F-14 instructor, and would love to help more guys out. We also have F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18C Hornet and AV-8B squadrons, who will be delighted to take on more people. You can read about us here: And here: https://dcafoc.wixsite.com/home Or jump onto our Discord!: https://discord.gg/RrzuvXXd9M I hope for those entering on their journey with DCS, this post can at least alleviate a few concerns about the online paradigm. Cheers, Peter

Hi everyone. I've noticed a lack of cooperative content with an emphasis on narrative and authenticity, so I thought it would be interesting to try to create something like that. Introducing Phoenix Rising. A 4 player cooperative campaign for the F/A-Hornet set on the Persian Gulf map. As of now, only the first mission has been published. It features 50+ lines of dialogue from 5 different voice actors, as well as a extensive briefing and kneeboard with lots of info that you should read before even loading the mission. There's even an optional skin pack with lots of new liveries designed exclusively for this campaign. The full campaign will include 5 missions and it's currently in development. Stay tuned for updates on that! This is my first big DCS project and I hope you enjoy it playing it with your friends! All feedback is welcome. Hi Fellow Pilots, I have been extensively using the interface for StreamDeck that Charles Tytler wrote, to configure my XL unit for the F/A-18C. Granted it is all been for the way my little brain works and obviously 100% personalised for my use. I apologise for asking these questions, but I have medical memory issues and forget easily Seen as I have put so much effort in to this, I thought I would release to all the fellow pilots out there. Before I do though, I just wanted to ask a couple of questions; 1. Do I need to release the customized F/A-18C lua I am using? 2. Do I need to release the clickable data, or is that standard for everyone? 3. Do I just need to release the profile itself with some support documentation, or is there other StreamDeck stuff I need to add? 4. I will obviously credit those others where I have reused the odd icon here or there from other profiles I have downloaded, and will also make available every icon sheet that I have created in Adobe Illustrator *.ai, *.psd *.png 99% of what is contained below is based upon direct interface, rather than keystrokes or combinations of keys, so there is virtually no keys that need to be mapped in DCS itself Here are the screenshots of the profile screens I have created and using, and what I intend to release; As I stated above, almost all the buttons and gauges etc are utilising the direct interface, and not keyboard strokes, so little to no remapping of keys is required to make it functional If someone who could help me with the answers, then I can get this released tomorrow hopefully Thank you Toni aka Ice Rhino

Hi All, Just joined as i am fairly new to DCS (about 3months and only a couple of hundred VR hours of playtime). I am really grateful for all the content (missions, helpful advice) on this forum and thought I would share a controller profile and accompanying kneeboard that has been working well for me in VR. This is specific to the VKB Gladiator flight stick and the Virpal CM3 Throttle. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Many thanks for the content and very helpful instruction and advice! Does anyone know how to increase the amount of G’s pulled before the wings break on the F/A-18C? I would like to mess around with this and see what’s possible

I started a thread here - The community confirmed this defect exists beyond just my install. Here's a video showing the problem. I am also posting the track file from the above video. Hopefully this is an easy one to correct. Thanks ED!! TextureIssue_VFA97.trk

Does anyone know where the files are for radar performance? I have the CJS Super Hornet Mod, and in the .lua file for it, there is a line that reads: ' RADAR = "AN/APG-73" ' I believe this means the .lua finds this radar file to use in the super hornet. Where is the AN/APG-73 file located?

Check my video at: Here’s an honest review of the Cubesim EASY PANEL EP3U composed by 1 UFC, 3 Mfds (usb monitors) with smaller dimensions against the real F/A-18 MFDs and one Hub (cubesim hub) that has four usb 3.0 port for the UFC and MFDs, four power receptable to give power to the units . You can find them on www.cubesim.com.cn or check their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CubeSimGarfield The Items arrived quickly with FEDEX and they were packaged really carefully. I was so excited that i just took a picture of the open box. I choose to buy just the MFDs without the bezel as I’m owning the Trustmaster set so decided to go with them. The mounting of the MFDs (usb displays 800 x 600) to my ALU rig has been quite simple, I preferred to install them directly into the Alu profile of my cockpit instead of mounting them on the provided Alu profile. Assemby of every MFDs took no longer than 10 minutes, removing the protective sheet, placing the TM Mfd on the display, four screws, the backplate, four nuts and just screw everything. The UFC instead was provided with a swivel mount that attaches to the back of the UFC and then is attached to the provided Alu Profile. The alu profile then is secured to my cockpit with the provided clamp. On the Software side the guys at Cube Sim asked me to provide them my monitor setup and then they sent me the lua file for exporting the views correctly on the usb monitors. Initial configuration was set keeping the USB monitors on the left of my main monitors but i realized that each time i was switching off the computer at next reboot i was finding the monitors on the left side. Again Cubesim sent another Lua file that solved everything. The MFDs response rate is with no delay. Probably they’re just a little bit dark but this seems to be a DCS issue the brightness in the SIM actually is still not yet acheived on the export feature. About the UFC, instead, i faced some troubles with the first program they sent me, there was no way to have the UFC working, everything seemed OK, the com port was exchanging datas but UFC was not waking up. It was solved in a couple of days with, what they said, an update of the interfacing program. One click on the new executable, one click on the “connect” button and finally also the UFC was working properly. What i was unable to use and still unable to use are the three usb ports installed on the back of the UFC. They are supposed to be the port for the TM Mfds but even if the unit is powered by the cubesim hub they continue to disconnect (probably they’re dreaning too much power) so I decided to solve with an extra usb hub. Construction: Simply awesome ! Buttons and switches give a positive sound, you can hear the “click” on the pushbuttons and the click on the switches, display are awesome and the time of response with the sim is perfect ! I I didn’t realize any delay, nor in the display of the UFC nor while changing pages on the MFDs Cons: Display dimension. Of course these MFDs are moulded on the F-16 dimension viewing area is 4X4”on the display are a little bit wider (5.90” / 15cm) they protrude orizzontally of 0.2” / 0.5cm each side but while flying is unnoteceable. At the end, I’m very happy with the gift I made to myself for my birthday and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this set up in the forecoming months.
